Thank you to anyone who has given blood. I was about to die from heart failure and my heart was beating too fast. I had servere anaemia and my blood count was 3.3 when it's supposed to be 15. Thank you so much ❤❤❤
@@roneelashahzad3288 it was very positive! I made sure to eat a good breakfast before going and I drank a lot of water. It was not as painful as I imagined it to be

I am a regular blood platelet or double-red blood cell donor because of my type (O+). Being a blood donor not only gives myself healthier but it make gives me a sense of pride for saving a persons life. So be a blood donor, no matter what type you are.
@@Poetry4Peace For whole blood, about 20 minutes. For platelets it can vary especially on your iron level. If your iron is high you’ll need up to 2 hours. If your iron is lower it may take only one hour to donate platelets. If you have donated on a consistent basis the donation time is generally lower as well.
Set up an appointment for my first blood donation! Planning to go quarterly, which makes me think that I could be helping up to 12 people a year. Makes me excited to donate knowing it could save a life.
I have donated blood twice before. The process is really simple and all it takes is just an hour of your time. They explain everything clearly, so you know everything that is going on. So make it count, even if you only do it once.
I have donated twice now,the second one unfortunately expired due to high stock levels. Donation number 3 in April.I don't rate needles but its literally a scratch and so worthwhile to do.
I’ve just registered and I will be donating my blood for the first time in March! I’ve always wanted to donate blood and I’m glad that I’m finally going to do it
I donated blood a couple of weeks ago at my school for a blood drive. I drank a lot of water but I was stupid and didn't eat much because my free period was my lunch period. After donating the blood I didn't use the 15 minute period because I had 10 min left of my class and I didn't want to be marked absent. Like a fool I thought I could make it through the day, but boy I was wrong. During my last period I ended up fainting in class. SO GUYS PLEASE EAT!! But the feeling I felt after donating blood was indescribable! It felt so good when the doctor told me that I will possibly save 3 lives! The process is really easy, just follow the instructions the doctor give you, don't be stupid like I was!💗
@@liljimmy454 not necessarily but you will feel really weak! Just listen to the given instructions. You’re gonna loose fluid from your body so it’s important to stay hydrated and eat. The day I donated blood I had water but I only had 1 Oreo like the entire day. I was stupid.
Have booked in today been trying for ages but website didnt make sence and messed it up. A team in west quey in southampton shopping centre today sorted it in 5 mins. I genuine cant wait to do my bit.
First time yesterday after putting it off for years as I have a fear of Needles. Those thinking about doing it, go for it. Hand on my heart it was a pleasant experience. The needle was a slight pinch which lasted less than a seconds. The staff was amazing and so friendly. The overall experience was positive and I'm definitely going to go again.
I turned 19 and I found out you can donate blood! So I'm donating blood on December 1st at 1 pm this will be my first time I'm nervous but I hope all goes well
I just uploaded a brand new video all about giving blood, how to do it etc!! ❤️ honestly one of the best things I ever did was become a blood donar! 🙏🏻
Tourist From Another Universe try this ones in your damn life and go to hospital and ask for free blood and see what answer you will get and tell me who’s right!!!!
@@comparedtech4500 If you NEED blood in the UK you get it, doesn't matter if you are rich or not, EVERY UK citizen is entitled to free heath care which includes blood transfusions. So if you walk into a UK hospital and you need a transfusion you will get it and there will be ZERO bill to pay at the end. The NHS also has a policy to treat anybody even if you are not a citizen, they can bill a non citizen but rarely do (usually only if insured).
Sir can i drive car after 30-40 mins after blood donation n having enuf juices. First time i donated i fainted. After that i hv done 5 times by taking rest n juice for 30 mins after donation. Hence confused.
Donating a pint of blood reduces blood volume, which results in a decrease in blood pressure (just as air pressure in a tire decreases as air is let out of the tire) What effect does donating blood have on heart rate?
I want to donate blood but I am afraid if I pass out or if they take too much blood. I know I am a scary cat but that fear is what is keeping me to donate. Although I want to donate so I can help
I know this comment is old but: It is possible that you can pass out, most of the time this is more to do with nerves than the lack of blood and its quite rare, remember if you do feel unwell you are surrounded by heath care professionals who will take care of you. Taking too much blood is impossible basically your own heart pumps the blood into a bag, once the bag is full thats it, there is nowhere else for the blood to go except to continue into your body (the needle is smaller than the vein so the blood just flows around it) and your heart/blood pressure simply isn't enough to force extra blood into the bag. Besides someone will check on you every few mins if something isn't right they will stop.
I did the first time but i got up a little faster than i should have. The second time i drank plenty of juice beforehand, did the AMT exercises and got up more slowly and felt fine.If in doubt have someone else drive you afterwards.
I had to have four blood transfusions last year when I was 12. I had to have a tube in each hand. I couldn't move my hands at all. I can walk now. A little prick will be worth it to save a life.
Iam o- and donated yesterday ifelt very very dizzy during process and throw up after 2min igot back to normal but i stayed at chair for 5min to make sure ican walk even thought iam in good shape iam 66.5kg weight was terrible experience but all took few minutes
I hav donated blood many times but the last time a few days ago i hav donated blood but i become unconcious after that can anyone tell me why it happened to me any doctor here?
Not a doctor, but it could be because you were not well hydrated before having blood drawn. Always drink LOTS of fluids before and after donating blood. It will help to regulate blood pressure and prevent fainting or dizziness afterwards.
And what makes you think its free healthcare? Its what they are saying my friend so that good people like you who donate his blood in goodwill and knowing you are helping someone but actually you are being fooled.

It doesn’t have a significant effect because it’s a small amount!
u produce more blood as a result and can live longer by donating btw!
They need blood to feed the vampires.
@nunchaku101 ??????
This is relevant why?
After you leave one appointment, how many more can you go to at other donation clinics in the same day?
you can only donate every about 2 months though, this includes all the donation clinics
How much donated blood is sold then exported?
In the UK almost none, we export around 10 units/pints a year to EU countries for research purposes, usually rare blood types.
