Looks good but not sure how it will hold up over time. At least with the slury stuff like flow point you know the mix is getting right down into all the gaps between the pavers and not just floating on top.
Just done my patio with this. 40 sqm with the manual gun was a killer on the old hands but so stress free. You dont even have to scrape it for the most part, the excess just peels off. TIDY 👌
Hi, I’m new to your channel and have been viewing a number of your videos. Thanks for the effort and time, I know it is hard word producing them but information presented is invaluable, particular to us DIYs. I’m looking at laying down porcelain slabs 40sqm and all the discussion regarding grout choice is interesting. The suppliers of the slabs recommend Joint-it. How do you think it compares to staintec you posted a few months before this vid? What would be your grout of choice?
Go for it you could do it in the middle of summer with no issues like the slurry grouts Stress free bit slow but clean up wins hands down and hopefully more colours coming soon 👍🏴
The joints need to be dry for a starter and it’s definitely not stressful you could do it in the middle of a hot summers day 30+ degrees no problem try that with another type of slurry grout 👍🏴
This stuff is a nightmare if conditions arent perfect, even had the rep telling us all the faults with the product earlier. If the temp is below 8 degrees, don't even bother with the stuff. So it's useless through all winter in the UK. Stick to an epoxy brush in. Also, there is a lot of excessive waste. If you added up all the scrapings, you could do another patio. And the electric guns wear out very quickly. 2 jobs and joint it have already replaced it as the motor burned out.
It’s ok for smaller areas but what was nice was knowing the clean up is easier and just to keep it real the customer didn’t like the colour so it was only a small test area covered we’re gonna use that brush in steintec stuff screw the slurry I hate it to stressful 👍🏴
@tidybrickslandscaping completely agree had a nightmare with some brush in stuff at the start of the year was working on my own took bloody ages , I said never again lol 😆
@@jaspermillerlandscaping6174 so far that steintec stuff is by far the best but does settle 2/3 mm short of the top but when it arrives on Tuesday hopefully I’ll use it and also top it up level hopefully that’s the plan 👍🏴
Looks a lot less stressful to me 👍👍👍 wpould you say laying porcelain tiles is best on a concrete base or type1 scalpings .. we have this on going debate 😂
Uk here, type 1 or scalps would be preferred as long as they're compacted well. Helps with setting the levels and draining water if the grout is permeable or there is imperfections. On a concrete base, moss and mould will grow easier and any imperfections in the jointing or laying will simply blow the jointing out or get under the slab. Water always finds a way
Looks decent that stuff. Wish I had of used it 🤦🏼♂️ been cleaning haze for 3 days 😡😂 if I’m a little low in places for the grout is it ok to top up or not. I’m a fkn amateur 😂
It’s a longer process this way but the clean up is easy but the area the wax went on wasn’t that easy to get clean. Just use normal cement it’s easier 👍🏴
Looks $$$ and slow to me, if two guys can’t grout 120m in a day that I mean 6hrs the old way with a float and easy buckets there’s something wrong, plus this won’t fill up all the voids. Hope your well over there, hello from Australia 🇦🇺
But it does make a mess, you are constantly cleaning epoxy off the tools . Then you end up with a load of rags covered in epoxy, it really isn't any cleaner
Just done 25m2 using Joint It mate, piss easy to use just slightly expensive. I’ll send you some photos on instagram 👍🏼
Yeh I thought it was easy too and definitely not as messy as slurry grout and didn’t need any hazing cleaning either 👍🏴
Looks good but not sure how it will hold up over time. At least with the slury stuff like flow point you know the mix is getting right down into all the gaps between the pavers and not just floating on top.
I’ve seen a video of a high pressure washer blasting a piece of 4x4 post rips it to bits them over the grout and didn’t budge a inch 👍🏴

I’m glad it worked out for you definitely no stress grouting winner winner chicken dinner 😆👍🏴
How many tubes did you use for 40m2?
@@MrMostin67 23 tubes. 5mm joints, 20mm deep
What color is that? Not sure which color to use for my grey paver
That was a grey of some sort and new colours coming soon 👍🏴
i can see it been useful on upstands and cladding etc but fuck that for a lark on say 90m2
90m2 nope get the slurry out but this one was only 20m2 and the clean up process was the best no mess 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping hows your ankle doing scott mate?
How much does one tube cover?
I’ll ask that question next week when there open but not loads 2m maybe 3m2 👍🏴
Does the wax wash off Scot?
yeh pressure wash off no worries 👍🏴
Thanks for all your vids laying my first porcelain patio next week. Would this be ok to use now as weather is damp mostly?
Yes, absolutely as long as it’s dry you’ll be fine 👍🏴

For the DIY’er I’d say steintec as it’s no fuss but the grout does settle slightly but no big deal glad I’ve been of help 👍🏴
Can you use this on 7mm gaps?
Yes I think so yeh 👍🏴
You beat me to it mate, I’m going to use it on my next patio. Sick of Flowpoint and the stress. Do you mind if I forward this vid onto my client?

@@tidybrickslandscaping I’m sold already. Not too bothered about the speed. I’ll sacrifice that if it’s less stressful! Cheers pal
Would need more feed back from other users before i tried it,looks a ballache how does it fair if we get a shower of rain etc etc\ good idea thou

Sounds like you had a mare once open ma time it was easy just using cement makes you wonder go back to your roots 👍🏴
Interesting. Will have to give a go.
Hope all is well 🙏

concrete in the states type 1 over here in the Uk seems to be the debate I hear a lot 👍🏴

Maybe good for copings or intricate bits and pieces but not for a whole patio
You might have a point there it’s a slow process but when it’s in there’s no real clean up mess like the usual slurry stuff 👍🏴

All very valid points it is a slow process but the clean up is amazingly quick process
Swings and roundabouts I guess 👍🏴
It looks like a ballache tbh
Slurry grout is a ball acke by miles and miles no stress with this application 👍🏴
I think it all is at my age lol

@@thelightofficial666 the older you get the easier you try make it 👍🏴
Wait till you realise you don’t like the colour and try to remove it! 😅
Test panel is crucial 👍🏴
Tidy 👍🏻
cheers buddy 👍🏴
Maybe had he cut his nozzle a little smaller so it just sits in to the joint would have saved on waste and maybe just used a hand hun
There is definitely waste which is a shame but you could scrape the fresh stuff off and replace it along the gap maybe 🤔 👍🏴
Only one colour available! need a dark grey or black
I found the grey a bit shinny 👍🏴
Easier to grout the normal way imo
There’s to many ways tbh 👍🏴
So much wastage, shame you cant scrape it instantly once, and put the waste back in the tube. leaving very little waste the next day.
All good valid points I think you could scrape up the excess up after you’ve put the joint across it and tuc it in 👍🏴
Could be good once you get the hang of it and not waste so much . Not very cost effective.
Thinking about it you could use a 2” scraper and move the excess over to a empty spot before it dries ? 👍🏴
Nightmare work
Actually makes up for not making a mess 👍🏴
