Just wanna briefly share how Mark's verse/lines hit me extra hard Bus 156 is an actual bus in Vancouver, one that he probably used to take before being a trainee, so the line *"makes me think about how rap is my new 156"* made a lot more sense. *"Everyday getting more spotlight than sunlight"* this line probably broke me the most, just shows how much time he's spent as a trainee/idol which made him miss out on a lot of "normal youth/teenage experience" so yeah.. *for the future traded yesterday.* How he ended his verse with *"I hope you like it where I'm now"* also feels bittersweet to me. This song was also initially created way before it was released on the NCT 2018 Empathy album, thus the extended version. Just like what the others said, this one was very special and personal to Taeyong.

You can see the struggle through deep lyrics like "Karma's on my neck now". He wish to forget, but he also can't. The song is also a proof of Taeyong and Doyoung's close bond, since Taeyong wrote the vocal part specifically with his voice in mind. Taeyong has mentioned that his deepest memory with Doyoung is "empty Vocal Room 1", when he showed him all his most personal lyrics and compositions and they cried together, so Taeyong trusts him to accompany him through thick and thin, as well as in his musical creations. But afterwards SM deemed the song too dark, and they added Mark and Lucas in, with Mark writing the rap for his own part about his own version of struggle in "Yesterday".
