I know when it comes to Oil Changes You are going by what the Manufacture recommends... But I still think 8000 kms is a bit to long between oil changes.. Because most people will let Oil Changes slide even further that 8000 Kms... Oil Changes are the one thing You do not want to cheap out on in my opinion especially on a Hyundai or Kia.. I own a Kia and I use Full Synthetic Oil.. But not even I would allow my Vehicle to go past 6000 Kms without an Oil Change.. I only say that because I know people who have waited well past the recommended date to do maintenance... Anyway,,, thanks for the Video..
Synthetic oil interval should be around the 8k mark or 6 months. Manufacturers may say a higher millage but in the safe range would be around the 8k. Regular conventional 5k or 3-4 months. Which ever comes first. Oil has improved quite a bit from previous years and engines have improved quite a bit as well so the break down of oil and contaminats gathered in oil is not as dramatic to earlier style engines. Kia and hyundai you definitely want to change your oil on time as the gdi engines have a tendency of failing prematurely. In Canada there is no bad oil sold as it needs to meet manufacturing spec or better to be sold on the market. So as long as you are buying a oil that meets manufacturing spec for vehicle you should be good.
