Musically accomplished at a young age Ms Motis has continued to get better and better over the years. She has always appeared with the best of band mates but it is her amazing personality that has made her so popular around Europe, Asia and elsewhere.
This was a huge show for a 16 year old to headline. What ability, personality, talent, ability to relate to a full theater of folks who obviously loved (and love) her to pieces. She appears to be having fun and not feeling a lot of pressure. Awesome!
Love your Comment for Andrea as shes showing the world who She is & how far we can go in life Specially when u young. I have a Beagle dog 5 yr old & the only Command she does...is "sit"...but now she better stop playing games w/me....I will push 1 Command/wk. Period...! PS....I love Copper my best friend & daily company. Adopt one.. ...U'll never regret..!
Much credit goes to Joan Chamorro, who has developed one of the world's great music schools in Barcelona. He has inspired countless young musicians and singers in Spain, and he has brought joy to the rest of us.
@@davidcox8961 This video contains no material I created; it's simply a compilation I made because I wanted to bring this marvelous performance to a larger audience. But I agree that the school deserves a documentary! In addition to compilations, I make original videos, and I will think about your suggestion.
@@bobsteiner9209 Hi Bob! This is already a documentary about the school. I have watched it but most is in Spanish. I get some of it. It would be great to subtitle that one, or perhaps a new one is due. Cheers!
I agree, Terraza is magnificent. Not all viewers may know that he is blind. When I'm down, I can look at these performances and feel better about life! I'm eternally grateful to Joan Chamorro, Andrea Motis, the dancers, the musicians, and the skilled camera people in Barcelona who created the hour-long video from which this was excerpted.
When I was a kid (about 321 years ago), I heard someone say, "She could sing the phone book and I'd love it!" That's how I feel about Andrea Motis. I love everything that she sings and I love listening to her play as well. She's a rare, talented musician. Thanks for sharing this video, Bob. Both of these songs are outstanding.
I have seen a lot of videos filmed in the last 10 years of this young woman playing amazing jazz trumpet and singing. In the earlier days she plays saxophone, both tenor and alto. I thought that her saxophone playing is also amazing and wish she would still play it. Her all round talent is amazing. In this clip I see that she can also dance. That is just ridiculous! I don't know what is in the genes, but her sister is now playing jazz guitar and banjo in a lot of more recent videos.
@@robertvanruyssevelt7159 Hi Robert. Thanks for that link. Yes, I have just watched that video and another one of Carla Motis. Yes, she is really good! Scot Hamilton has played with the very best of the American Jazz scene and it is amazing that he plays with Joan Chamorro and all of his young prodigies. So much young talent being developed to keep jazz alive for the next couple of generations.
This is a gem. Amazing performance of Andrea´s playing, singing and dancing in16. I also like the skilled pianist., but all players are very good.,thank
I am reading "11.22.63" by Stephen King, about a guy travelling back in time to 1963, and comes across 2 teenagers dancing the Lindy Hop to Glen Miller. I put the book down, and switched on UA-cam, to find the Lindy Hop with Andrea and Joan !
@@paulsj9245 I do not claim originality. I simply took excerpts from the original very lengthy video so that more people could enjoy this amazing performance. I'm a huge fan! By the way, borrowing is something artistic people have always done. The performers here did not originate the Lindy Hop or write the tunes. They recreated old materials in their own way for a new audience.
@@RalphDratman On the other channel, there are a few vids from this performance. I'm guessing that they are from a TV recording (Catalan channel 33), obviously with permission.
Andrea's aesthetic instincts are wildly phenomenal!

I agree, her personality as well as her ability to make a song fresh and new, no matter how many times she has sung it in the past.

Every time I watch this performance, I shed tears of joy.
Absolute bliss. Simple, elegant and inspiring.
Bravo.
My kind of music& dance. Play it! Thanks Joan for bringing such a talented group of people together. Andrea is pure magic.
Andrea is a Magnificent singer, dancer and musician.
To see such talented youngsters is heart warming. All thanks to Joan Chamarro and Andrea is too cute.
So much talent here.. I love every bit of this.
Better, better, and always better. There is no end in sight!
Andrea Motis is a treasure
Such a talented performer!
As a soloist it must feel like sitting on a flying carpet, being accompanied by a pianist like Ignasi Terazza.

Back to the future with Andrea Motis. I’m in a speakeasy and an Angel has arrived 🧡💛💙❤️
Fantastic
Performer and writer credits??
Fabulous show!!
The dance segment at 4:00 or so was a gas.
Lady Motis each better and better!
Très bonne ambiance. S'il vous plaît continuez avec les danseurs cela amène beaucoup de joie aux gens.
Andrea, you go girl!!!
GENIALS !! Com sempre. El resultat d´una feina bent feta.
If I ever go to Heaven, I want Andrea on one side and Chloe Feoranzo on the other.....!
this girl is amazing
The taller of the 2 girl dancers has a phenomemnal feel for her art. . .
I agree of course, though a part of me doesn't like comparing or ranking people....
Multi talented - WOW
Terrific....Thanks
I think Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw would certainly approve.
I know I approve and I've been a fan of Big Band and Swing music since the late 1950's. I was born in the mid 1950's.
