Hi Kimberly, you can't really paint a floor, mainly due to the gaps in the floorboards and the movement of the wood floor over time would cause the paint to fail and peel away. That's why we use a copper sheeting called Bloc Copper on the floor, it provides the metallic radiation reflecting surface like the paint but because it's a fabric, it's flexible.
Anything conductive will do, you could use tin foil if you wanted, a heavy duty foil would work just as well but could be likely to tear over time if there was movement in the floor (floor boards)
