The reason the Storm has done so well , is they are able to pick up the right players that are right for the club, the coaching is top notch and their training regime , is the best in Australia and certainly one of the best in the world

Wally's signing helped bring other players to the club at the start but the reality is Kevin Walters was a better 6 for Broncos then Wally was and its hard putting him ahead of other Bronco's who actually won comps there

It really depends on how you calculate it. Brisbane for example, won 5 out of 5 grand finals in the 90's and 2000's. Melbourne only won 4, in the 2000's and 2010's. two of which were stripped. And one of Brisbane's wins was against Melbourne in 2006. Sure, Melbourne have been at the top more constantly. But The broncos won when it counts. A team that win's when it counts, is something these stats don't consider.

But now with the retirements of Cronk, Slater, Hoffman and Smith the Storm are still the dominant force of the competition so obviously their system, recruitment and development, plus the coaching of Craig Bellamy can not be ignored. They are extremely well-run.
They are by far the best team of the modern era & they hardly ever make big singings, it's all self grown. They never needed to purchase a bunch of good players, their only problem was their own success & players evolving & inevitably demanding/deserving more money & the club trying to keep them together & pay their worth. Saying this as a St.George fan btw, lol.

It doesn't really matter what you say, since 2013 the roosters have one free Grand finals including going back to back. Melbourne has only one 2. Since 2000 , the roosters have been in 8 grand finals, Melbourne have been in 7, since 2011 Melbourne for some reason because I believe Craig Bellamy is the best coach, they have a terrible grand final record, and I know it's a great achievement just to make it till Grand final, but no one remembers who come second. The roosters win 2022to 2023 2024 in a row, remember this.

Don't try to diminish the achievements of older clubs just because the newer club franchises did not compete in that era.
The Roosters are not the oldest club. Souths Sydney joined the NRL ahead of the Roosters by about 3 months and despite Nick Politis playing a role in ensuring that the Souths were dumped from the NRL they still existed as a brand in exile. The Roosters may have played 2 more years in the NRL, but they are not older than the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Souths did not change their brand like the Roosters from Eastern Suburbs, to the Sydney City Roosters Sydney Roosters. When the Rabbitohs rejoined the NRL in 2002 they had their history and their records intact. They are still the one of TWO remaining foundation clubs who joined the NSWRL before the Roosters.

Also, all clubs had a rebrand to include their mascot in their name, even Souths. The Roosters still remains named "Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club".

Then there was #TrainerGate where the Roosters trainer intentionally handled the ball when there were 4 Raiders chasing a charge down and certain to score. The Roosters were also over the salary cap by about $2 mill. 2018/2019 Roosters salary cap:
$1.1 mill - Tedesco, $1 mill - Cronk, $1 mill - Crichton, $850K - Cordner, $650K - Keary, $650K Friend, $550K - Mitchell, $500K - BMoz, $500K - Hall, $450K Manu, $350K Tupou, $300K JWH ($7.9 mill). $9.4 mill salary cap for 30 players, with a minimum NRL salary of $110K.
That leaves $1.5 mill for 18 players at $83K per player.
