I use a binary pull. I.E. Hook 2nd snatch bloc to first bloc cable and 1 k on this gives 4k and repeat with 4 blocs get 16k pull and ka-bang, Add 2k line pull and 32 thousand lb pull.
I built a pulling tower that can be set up for a triple double line pull. I use it mostly for pulling sweetgum stumps in the 8" and smaller range. I had one of the cables bind up in the sheave and I bent both of the 2" solid round bar uprights. With a 4500lb traveler ATV winch mounted on a receiver setup. Oopsie. I brought it home and fired up the coal forge and managed to get them both back reasonably straight, with the help of the tractor bucket. I am currently building a receiver mount for a 9000lb Traveler winch. We will see how that works. Hmmm, a 72000lb vertical pull. If needed. That ought to be interesting. Lol
I'm curious as to what you're going to use as an anchor when you get down to the last stump. Because it looks like you are rapidly doing away with your anchors. Lol. Nice work!
What I don't get is why you have 2 good pulling vehicles but you are using only one at a time. You have a wife (just guessing who that was you were talking to), I am sure she can run the tractor while you pull with the skid steer. Do your block and tackle with the tractor and go straight with the skid steer. Much safer and get it done with more power, "faster".
His block and tackle is setup correct, between two trees and pulling on the tail end, limiting the chance of digging tires in. Wouldn’t want to cut anything buried.
Very nice stump pull. Thank you for the video. Do you have more video material to make a couple more stump pulling videos?
Yes we do
That chain of perfect length to vine through the skid steer window and take you out

We have concepts of a plan. There are some stumps that we're going to grind.
Pretty impressive! Even in sandy soil, it takes a lot to pull those out.
got a skid there - no need for all that rigging
When pulling or pushing in the sand it looses traction quickly.
I hope you were not the one who cut the trees, the angled back cut is a big no no.
It was me. I'll try and do better.

@@jasonh4167 what does that have anything to do with my comment about using two vehicles?
Or did you mean to comment on someone else's comment.
