Lane you inform as if we don't have obesity epidemic and the food industry we do. People like Thomas gives a consumer what they need, a narrative to follow, that's how we humans work, we need a story. Granted its not the only story, but I. F., low carb and keto can all have extremely beneficial effects when prescribed correctly, which in my experience Thomas does an excellent job of. Now your story of calorie consumption overrides all, plainly doesn't work in this time in, this society, because we are where we are and your story has been THE story for at least the last 50 years. To add I'm an ex International gymnast (as well as a nutritionist a PT) and I'd like to draw out something about knowledge vs experience. My best friend wanted his shoulder rehabbing and went to a physio (sedentary elderly gent), after several months of no improvement, he came to me, now I am not a physio, but have had to rehab my shoulder and have been training my body for 35 years and I was able to rehab my friends shoulder in a couple of months. Apologies for the chip shop anecdote, but have you ever been extremely lean? Obviously one should not make arguments on the value of one (your own experience), but I do believe greater understanding is drawn from going through the process. In short, keep up the excellent information, but stop pretending the world isn't like it is.
Lane has always said do what works for you and that nutrition is a war of attrition. You can say this diet works and this is how to stick to it without all they lies and nonsense. On a side note a lot of PTs are kind of in the same boat, they don't adopt the new research and stick to what they were taught. Which in some cases is decades old.

Interesting that Thomas DeLauer did not talk about what is in the second sentence of the abstract he used in his video on the worst sugar. You know...the part that mentions over consumption of a high fat diet is also a major risk factor for NAFLD...I wonder why that is? lol!
That's just bananas! Thanks Layne. please do a video on this guy with the adds "this is a tomato, think it's good for you, think again..." His adds are all over UA-cam. So annoying.
It's like wondering why people don't achieve their goals. As Arya already said...looking for the magic solution, avoiding the often times unexciting but simple and hard work, trying to be special, looking for shortcuts, avoiding realization of what they missed in life,... Specifically in terms of kcal in/kcal out I think it may be too simple or simply put for some people, or it's too sciency and they think that they are unicorns that are special and need special individualized attention, or it gets shared by people they just don't like because it reminds them of their father, or doctors or so.
Have an argument with a buddy today about intermittent fasting and how he is losing weight from it. I argue it’s because he is on a caloric deficits without knowing. He said calories in and calories out is not the only way to lose weight. Smh
Because hormones determine what your body does with those calories. That you need to be in a caloric deficit to lose weight is not disputed. . However if you think on a day to day basis you can control what your body uses, burns or stores simply by the calories you ingest, you don't understand physiology. If all our bodies were were just balance scales, we wouldn't have people yo-yo dieting, plateauing and completely stalling. People don't seem to understand or want to accept that hormones like insulin, cortisol, ghrelin, leptin and dozens of others will regulate the burning, storing and overall consumption of those calories.
13:32 "they are not satiating...and end up overconsuming calories and do getting fat" doesn't that contradict the study detailed before that? where they gave 150g of fructose or sugar and they didn't get fat?
I like some of thomas his video’s but he indeed cherry pickes data. People need to see studies as puzzle pieces that they have to collect to solve the puzzle and not take a few parts and give information then but give info when the puzzle is solved :)
You can have equal calories but someone ate more or less food... it’s about what you are eating since not all foods have the same amount of calories... some food have a lot less or a lot more calories lb for lb
I second that, plus I don't know what you mean by the fructose group consuming less food because they were less hungry but still being calorie equivalent to the control group....you're implying that they ate more calorie dense food such as fats along with 150g of added fructose??
"This is where operationalizing the variable comes in."

People are still looking for a magic solution.
@@guibox3 Yeah uh, there aren’t special foods that trigger differences in these hormones. Gtfo with this psuedoscience.
HAHA best intro ever! Thomas should go to Hollywood, I mean the guy sure can learn lines... in a boring way though..
I'm going to buy everything on your site just to piss you off!!!
Fuck I hate that! 😆
if fructose is satienting, then why is soda bad?
I can't find the study about the high sugar diet. Can anyone help?
Don't eat sugar, don't blend fruit, eat fruit whole. don't eat too much fruit. move on nothing else to think about. ( stick with the complex carbs )
Smashed this video.
Thanks 🎉🎉🎉🎉
13:32 "they are not satiating...and end up overconsuming calories and do getting fat"
doesn't that contradict the study detailed before that? where they gave 150g of fructose or sugar and they didn't get fat?
Most excellent video Layne
Hey Layne been a while since I checked your channel. How come you don’t post many lifting vids anymore?
Thanks Layne!
I like some of thomas his video’s but he indeed cherry pickes data. People need to see studies as puzzle pieces that they have to collect to solve the puzzle and not take a few parts and give information then but give info when the puzzle is solved :)
Did you know that Mr. Bulletproof Dave Aspray was recently warned by the FDA?
Great info thanks 😎
This video had me rolling😂😂 Great job Layne.
"oh god forbid"
Appreciated the humour in this video hahaha!
First you said the fructose group didn’t eat as much, and then you said they were calorie-equated. WHAT THA HECK LAYNE?!? That didn’t make sense
You can have equal calories but someone ate more or less food... it’s about what you are eating since not all foods have the same amount of calories... some food have a lot less or a lot more calories lb for lb
Layne a real G.
That ending was hilarious. I’m sorry, Thomas.
He never did mention what the burn off rate was.
I just loveeeeeeeeee that intro.
Legit laughed during this one. Happy Friday!
11:58 "recent Study!"... where is that study, bro?
I second that, plus I don't know what you mean by the fructose group consuming less food because they were less hungry but still being calorie equivalent to the control group....you're implying that they ate more calorie dense food such as fats along with 150g of added fructose??
Whats your opinion on his recent sesame oil video?
Layne you are the man
Thank you Layne 🙌🏽🙌🏽
