Love the cognac videos, and love the blind tasting videos. Would like to see you do a few more comparison videos of related cognacs and brandys. For example, comparing Remy Martin VSOP and Remy Martin 1738. Or comparing VSOP from some other popular houses like Hine to your top picks from this video (Martell and Remy). Another fun comparison video would be comparing your top picks from this VSOP video to the cheap XO's like Cognac Park or Kirkland (not sure you can get that in UK). And then in the future when you feel like you have a good handle on cognacs, would love to get some cognac and armangac comparisons.
We need a Martell tasting video. Cognac has always been my drink of choice but once I tasted Martell the others were left behind. It’s just levels above the rest.
For me cognac is the drink of choice. I definitely advice you to try cognacs from Hardy. I also advice you to try brandies from Ararat and armagnacs from Darroze.
Glad you mentioned Hine. I got a bottle of Rare VSOP last evening, been sipping it the whole morning (after 10 am), not bad. But I still prefere Spanish brandy over cognac.
Great show Steve. Well done for your honest appraisals. Very helpful to your younger viewers I’m sure. I have found the Rémy to be over priced and over rated compared to some cheaper cognacs. Nick from York
Hello Steve. I haven't tried many cognacs yet but the one I really liked was Rémy Martin 1738 (65€)) with its chocolatey flavor and the ones I didn't like at all were the Grosperrin cognacs with their really special woody flavor.
loved the video! ♥ okay this is just my wishlist: - cognacs: PF selection des anges, gautier XO & 1755, how do those fare against the XOs youve tested so far, and how do PF ambre and such fare against the VSOPs youve tested here? im a massive PF fanboy so gotta ask - grappa: any, ive seen some grappa called berta and bottles are so pretty - ararat brandy, looks really cute and i saw someone have something called ararat nairi which is i guess XO level of a brandy, looks so good
I really like Ararat 10 year I own Gautier xo 1755 and Ararat Nairi but haven’t tried them yet. I personally think pf amber is better then remy vsop. I like pf 10 generations and double cask
@@Datboydayung1 thanks! honestly, i would buy them even if just for the looks. for casual drinking i have pf ambre and i also love it but i havent really tried martell vsop so cant compare
I work at a liquior store in the east coast and apparently the sales reps that supply the store state that Remy sales are slacking, as I been working in the liquor store for almost 4 months and have yet to see anyone buy a bottle of Remy Martin VSOP
I’d like to see tiffon, augier, Maxime trijol, de luxe as far as cognac. Ararat or noy for Armenian brandy and lepanto or any other Spanish brandy that follows the solera system
I baught my grandad courvoisier vs dor chistmas for a trear as he usauly buy his brandy dor aldi and lidl and places like that think he buy napoleon brandy he was happy with what i baught him what brandys or evan cognac would u say are better for a similar price range under £40 or so is courvoisier vsop better than vs or would u say sommet like martell would be better st remmy xo or sommet aslo would would be one that isnt to sweat
Sorry Andy, thats really hard to read, but hopefully the last 3-4 videos have answered this question. For the price, I'm still loving St Remy XO, but it is a different style to any Cognac. It's much lighter. And i still can't ignore the Pierre Ferrand Cognacs. I really love them.
Love your videos, but I'm sad that I have to look away for the first few minutes due to the flashing text on the screen. It would be nice if you could make that go away, or at very least stop the flashing 🙂
I’m really sorry. I understand your frustration. But the flip is, us creators have to try stuff that keeps people Engaged… especially in the Auto Play on the Home Feed. The simple fact is, at the moment, embedded Captions work for a lot of channels. It can be the difference from only losing 20-30% of your audience in the first 30 seconds, to losing 60-70%. For videos to be successful we need viewer retention and have to go with Data and Analytics.
@@brandycognaccalvados Its not as common as the big 4 but its quite known brand, I would say its better than henny or remy. The xo rare is about 100e where I live, would like to see your review of the brand

I'm still really liking the St Remy XO.
I thought st remy was good til I had better now I just cook with it
Honestly…I’ve nearly finished my bottle. It’s a great Brandy to sip or mix. Bargain price. Really punches above its category.

Hardy makes amazing cognac

I just bought a bottle of Martell VSOP a week ago before watching this video. Haven't tried it yet, but im feeling better about my purchase.

I haven't tried any Grosperrin yet. Waaaay out of my price range. But also very very old, hence the Wood.
How would the Remy 1738 fit in this group?
I think it falls between VSOP and XO
Yeah, check out the Remy tasting video I’ve done. The 1738 is in there compared to the XO, VSOP and VS 👍 (plus also the Remy Brandies).
Steve, do you have access to Kelt VSOP Cognac? I love it and think it’s better than any of the big brands.
Also, would be interested in your thoughts on Asbach German brandy, possibly their 3 or 8 year old.
Asbach…I think we can get a couple of them here. Kelt I’ve not heard of, but I’ll keep an eye out 👍
Kelt has a very interesting way of aging their Cognacs. Look up Tour du Monde.
loved the video! ♥

De luze Vsop is really good too I feel like it’s a more intense pf ambre
Honestly, I can't answer that... the only Brandies I've tried are on this channel.
A video about armagnac would be interesting.
Looking for a decent neat sipper-Hine Rare v Remy Martin 1738 Royal Accord, advice please? 😊

Good info. Cheers
Can you drink through the whole brands? VS, VSOP, XO, special? Would really like to see Martel vs the others! Thanks!!
it is on the list 👍️

I’ll look for them, but I’ve not heard or seen any of them before 👍
Yes, Lepanto is one of the very best Spanish brandies, you won't be disappointed.
For me, it's Hennessy, Martell, Remy, Courvoisier

Bottle breathing time is a factor you should pay attention to... otherwise not valid.
