@@MrCevans1026 Thank you for responding. I've heard the megas all have a scam going to diagnose as many drivers as possible with sleep apnea. Crazy Industry.
Family comes first Shon. You did well while you were there and we appreciate you sharing the journey. One door closes another one opens. You made it longer then me Shon, I also no longer drive for Roehl. Good luck and god bless on your next venture. 🙏🏼
First and foremost, the most important thing is the relationship between you and your family, Roehl comes second. And if they aren't willing to accommodate that then you're doing the right thing. It's tough though when you have to make those choices, although working for FM's like yours makes it a little easier. Good luck in your prospects and with you and your family's happiness.
Shon, best wishes w/all of your future endeavors. We all have our choices in life to make and I hope that all works out to your advantage. I recently retired from the military and I am currently studying for my CDL permit. I’m still undecided between Prime INC and Roehl…both seem like good companies. I want to thank you for your openness and willingness to share your experiences and adventures. You along with some other You Tubers have definitely influenced me to pursue a career in truck driving. Best wishes again to you and your family with all future endeavors.
Doesn't sound like either one of you were a good fit for each other. Thanks for taking time to share all your experiences. Best of luck in your future endeavors and stay safe!
Thanks for the update. Happiness DOES matter. You made the right decision. Can you get real with us re the money at Roehl? How much were you on track for 1st 12 months, after training? Did you take the full hit on the Training contract/commitment?
Thanks brother I appreciate it. I think I was on track but flatbed usually takes 14 months they said. I didn't not get a bill from Roehl. Thank God 🤙🏾😎
What's the cpm for curtainside? I'm currently national reefer tired of short trips Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio. Let me know before I realize I made a big mistake. Don't even get me started on my FM
Glad you are the man you are could have easily played the angry black man card and acted a fool but so glad you didn't but thats what company's are doing now well been doing I myself walked away from my job of 15 yrs so I know how it is hope you find something to accommodate you wish you the best.
I too learned the hard way of why it is pronounced "Rail", because they're going to rail you. I worked there for less than 3 months right after getting my CDL, cut bait and left. I couldn't take another day of that place. FM said I was making a huge mistake and yada yada yada, paid them about 3k to quit their pathetic under paying job and it is honestly the best 3k I have ever spent in trucking. I got hooked up with a guy with his own authority, bought a truck and leased on with him as an owner operator. Over 5 years later and that mistake my FM said I was making has been the best damn mistake I've ever made. Glad you made the decision to leave, you can never put a company like that before your family or your own mental well being. Hope your time after Roehl has gone as well as mine, stay safe out there.
Evan really is a great guy. Is my backup when Eric is not available. Eric is also one of the Stellar Fleet managers. There are some bad apples in there that will try to ruin your day.
If you were in a fleet that had an 11 to 14 out and 3 days home schedule, that's what you're expected to work. No carrier can have their drivers dictating their own home time. Good luck with wherever you go. If you have 6 months solo experience, you should be able to get a job with most carriers. Just hope that Roehl doesn't send you a bill for $7k if you're leaving before the mileage agreement is satisfied.
Sorry about the ways things turned out but I am sure you Will be fine. FYI make sure you get that hand checked out ASAP. just in case its something serious you will have a record of when and where.
They fired you because you wanted to go see a Dr. And they thought they were going to have to pay a workmans comp claim. That is what that was all about.
That sounds about right. Management is ruthless behind the scenes and they no doubt had a little meeting before this driver returned to the terminal. ALL employees of Big Business are numbers and absolutely nothing else when it comes down to it Not a fan of unions but this is where they shine.
Sad to say it, but you are going to find a lot of cold and uncaring folks in the trucking industry. It's not like the motorcoach industry. It's why I'm so depressed at what Covid did to the passenger hauling business because I loved it so much...
I withdrew from the application process with Roehl and went with TMC instead. I heard better things about tmc. Now that doesnt mean they dont have their flaws because im sure they do but i just heard wayyyy too many bad things about roehl compared to tmc. Plus, i heard theyre really good with home time
Damn I just seen 3497 pull into the Phoenix terminal and wow they did not fucking waste a second to replace the driver. Too bad it’s all dirty now not clean like my boy left it
I'm learning that these companies are all the same. They want you OTR so they can use you for their own gain. Werner it is! 😀 I'll do my year and try to get something local.
Just spoke with a friend of mine there and apparently a lot of drivers have turned in their trucks. Things aren’t looking good for Roehl as a company….
Gave u my number, u shoulda hit me up bro. FMs work for u, not the other way around. Use your chain of command, u should know that being military. My first FM lasted one day, second lasted a week, my 3rd I'm finally happy with. Curtainside may make less cpm, but those cardinal glass runs are a piece of cake. If they were getting u home every weekend, that's a pretty good deal. You're supposed to be out 11 days home for 3, so they looked out for u in that instance. You're a good guy, hope your new gig works out man. If not roehl will probably take u back and u can finish that contract youre gonna get a big bill for. No matter what happens, at least your in sunny Phoenix and not Chicago lol. God bless u and your family
When one door closes ...
You're a good man, Shon. I hope the right opportunity reveals itself right away to you.
Shon, I'm guessing Roehl roped you into getting that CPAP, too....am I correct?
@@motobecane1000 actually no. The bus company is used to drive for did.
