Started the season with a long injury list and no front line players. Also a tough start to the URC. This set them on the back foot. This coupled with a new coach and a change in playing style. Boks coming back has helped them get on track. Judge them on next season.

For the Sharks to be where they are is something I never saw coming. I am glad they are there and may be a shining moment in what has been a bleak season

I saw Eben said that it absolutely makes their season if they win, otherwise the Sharks season will be a total failure.

Some fair comments there alfie, as a Gloucester season ticket holder its been a tough rollercoaster of a season for us, with the reduced Prem your team can easily be out of the race by Christmas, it was interesting to hear you mentioned about Bristols win in the Challenge, its a shame you couldn't be there, I really enjoyed the Glaws win in 2015.
So far Glaws have sold out 12 supporter coaches in the first 6hrs of putting them on and are trying to get more sorted

Reports from Rugby365 are that Masuku was not involved sooner due to rehab from an injury and being made familiar with the game plan at a new team. But since he has been available his been great!

Been a disappointing season for the sharks in URC but with the boks finally back after all the injuries and forced resting and then game time being given to Siya Masuku at 10 things have been turning around 4 man of the matches in a row and I think besides the first game he started we have won the next 5/6 I think it is!! So it’s starting to look positive for next season with some more fire power joining us

Great that the Sharks are through to the final but, big but, with the breadth of talent they have in their pool of players and with a quality management set up too, they need to be competing at least through to the knockout stages of the URC and should be really competitive in the Champions Cup comp too. Bring on next season!

Explanation of the Sharks season. We all expected it to start a bit slow to be honest. New Coach, new game plan, building of team culture. All these things takes time. A-lot of work went into the Sharks to get them where they are . Also because of all our Springboks being missing due to the world cup and also a with a mandatory rest period, the sharks was playing for most of the season without their top players. We also started the season with 4 away games against the likes of Leinster and Munster. Sharks also had a major problem at 10. But with the arrival of Masuku that all changes. I foresee a better season for us next year. Better schedule, coaches and players are bedded in. Plus we signed 2 more world cup Springboks and two potential future Springboks. I do think everyone has been a bit hard on them without actually understanding why they performed so badly in the beginning. All the Sharks supporters are glad Plum is back. He understands the South African culture very well since he played for the Sharks back day in the when the Sharks won the Currie Cup for the first time

Bad results = Good players + bad coaching. Let’s not sugar coat it. Look at SA 7s , best team to nowhere, new clueless affirmative action coach. At top level need good coach’s.

@@Wolf-hh4rv i thought we long over this us vs. them thing? Just stop its man. You obviously a weekend warrior. Clearly know nothing about rugby. Let go of this affirmative action thing. Potential 60 milling rugby participants is better that just 4 mill. Yes there will coaches that under perform due to lack of experience, and will only improve over time as they gain experience. I dare you to go live aboard, you will soon realise this people you so dissing have way more in common with you than you realise

Shark supporter here. Club rugby hasn't been popular on SA due to our involvement in Super Rugby. The broadcasting times were just too inconvenient for us. I think interest in club rugby is coming back. We can definitely feel it. When I looked at my Sharks team, the guys playing were hardly recognisable to me. I'm sorry Europeans don't want us in their competition, but one can't please everyone. I know our clubs will get stronger once they become more familiar on how to play their players. 🦈🇿🇦

South African teams will eventually dominate in Europe and this is the start.

Sharks may have a quality team on paper, but many of their best players were hot available consistently for the first half of the season because of rest, injuries and suspension. They also played poorly at times especially against of SA teams in the URC

Both Teams have underperformed this season but this final should be close affair. As a West country supporter go Gloucs🎉

The main problem with the Sharks is that they have a squad strategy which is counter to what is needed to do well in the URC. They have a lot of Springboks who they spend most of their salary cap on (Salary cap in SA is already much lower than other countries). These Springboks are maybe only available for half the season? Most of the rest of the squad is not good enough to win games when the Springboks arent there. Add to that, the coaching/tactics have been very naive this season (especially early on)

Team performance often related to Coach.ergo England with Borthwick and Gloucs with Scivington.enough said😮

Possibly not a good thing to have all these Bok players in your team at the club level speaking as a Stormers fan thinking of Stormers sides of the past. I remember when we put in all Bok packs (literally fielding 7 of the 8 starting Bok forwards in the Kitshoff/Mbonambi/Malherbe/Etzebeth/PSdT/Kolisi/Vermeulen days and the Bok fringe backs but always fell off towards the end of a season but then won the maiden URC with a largely unfancied side. Now those same big name forwards are at the Sharks.. You'd want few others when the chips are down and you are playing a RWC final but at lower levels with more space/opportunity you probably want a hungrier and possibly more mobile pack.

In SA historically we haven’t really had a knockout competition, so maybe we will need to warm to it. I could be wrong but we did have the Lion cup Cup which was knockout, but it wasn’t a success.

I dont know what it is about the Sharks, they always have a strong team but they really seem to go through 3 year cycles where its poor, average and then strong. Thats my view anyway as a Bulls fan

To be honest south african teams shouldn't actually try and win these competitions. Because no the won't ever have a home semi or final even if they are on top of the logs
