Rain or Shine, California parrots make the most of all situations. Featured are clips of the Reseda and El Cajon flock where a seldom seen White Fronted Amazon is shown as well.
This was totally awesome!!! You can't get any closer to heaven than this! :O) Very interesting the way they acted in the rain!!! As a bird lover, I look forward for your videos!
I have a friend who befriended a crow in her neighborhood and he would "steal" stuff from the neighbors. LOL I have heard them in my yard imitating the blue Jays. They are amazing! My birds do things that makes you wonder how much understanding they have. If I give my Conure a treat to eat he will say ummm good. But if I just give him something else , I can try to get him to say it and he won't. Before they can see me pull in my driveway they will all start squawking, knowing its me. .
Very interesting how they shower upside-down in the rain! I've also noticed birds being attracted to water sprays from my irrigation systems. Unlike cats that fear sprays of water, it seems that birds are attracted to them.
Even more interesting is that the amazons unlike our Ringnecks and Nandays will refrain from venturing to the ground (natural waterways) even for drinks! I believe morning dew, certain fruits and other other foods may recompensate for this inactivity. I found this hard to believe but I find myself still waiting for them to take their first drinks.
Its various cities and mainly seasonal. I have seen members of the el cajon flock twenty three miles away, in other parts of San Diego during spring and summer months. So I guess It takes a bit of good timing, knowing what in season foods are sought after, and having good hearing too I suppose. Thanks
I don't know how she won the crow. I just remember asking her what she fed it. She said hamburger meat. It just disappeared and she felt like a neighbor killed it, but she never knew. My favorite Old Testament person is David. He was a man after God's own heart, yet he was a rascal too. :O) I can become a rascal too, so that comforts me. LOL
Wow There are so many in that flock at El Cajon! Do they tend to flock at a particular location in that city like a park or wildlife refuge, or was this just luck on your part of being right place right time?
Hey, this is my thing! I have some squawky birds in my home so I'm use to it. Birds are very intelligent! The term bird brain only applies to atheists now. haha Sorry my humor is on the loose!
