I love Canada! We vacationed there every Summer when I was a kid. Canadians are some of the friendliest, respectful people you can ever meet. (In my experience.) Tam, when you poured the drink and said, "oh" and then laughed at yourself, I laughed because it reminded me so much of myself. Oh Heney's are awesome, it was my favorite when I was a kid. I was surprised at your reaction to Ganong's "Chicken Bones"; they used to come out only near Christmas and were eagerly looked-forward-to, especially by the children. I used to eat them by the handful. Delicious. I never found them to "burn" at all. You must be pretty sensitive to cinnamon! Oh, and I'm no longer at that address, or even in that same Province any more. Got transferred... let the weirdos have the address :)
BoboLaTuque Orange Pekoe is a tea flavour I often get I love my tea and have almost gone through the whole box of it. I think I am extremely sensitive to cinnamon I agree for some reason it always seems really hot yet I can handle chili I'm strange...but you already knew that : ) I loved the Ganong's gummi candies delicious I still have one of the Crispy Crunch bars left I'm saving it but it's days are numbered. For some reason, us Canadian children get an in-proportionate amount of Oh Henry bars at Halloween so that is what they always remind me of. I don't think I have ever actually had a full sized Oh Henry or purchased an Oh Henry in my life, despite having eating hundreds of tiny ones over the years.
Its amazing to see you have come so far. I started watching ages ago, when the taste tests first began, and youre channel has really kicked off. Very well done and now lets hope youre channel continues to grow and turn into something even bigger than it is today.

Just like in Australia, we had Smarties long before we had m&ms... Oh Henry is still my favorite of all of those chocolate bars including Dairy Milk and Coffee Crisp which bring back loads of good memories. I'm not familiar with a lot of those Eastern things like Chicken Bones. We didn't get those in Quebec where I grew up. I think you should try spruce beer in your next Canadian taste test LOL

M&M's were introduced to Canada in the 1980s as well. I was 6 years old before I tasted an M&M for the first time (they weren't that common back when I was a lad). I used to call them Smarties with M's on them lol. Out of the two, Smarties are my favourite.
Loved seeing all this stuff from New Brunswick. I really want a Sussex Ginger Ale now. Dry ginger ale is so much more popular here in Ontario and I miss the stronger golden ginger ale flavour.
It's funny to see how Smarties are different in different parts of the world. In the US our Smarties are little chalky candies made of sugar. I loved them when I was little but now I don't like them. Anyway Thanks Bob! I hope to one day visit Canada. I think I would fit in too because I have a Canadian accent. I don't know where I got it and it always drives my mom crazy when I say certain words.

Monica Gates Everyone has an accent. We have a lot of different accents here in the US. It's not just the east coast and the south but the whole country has different accents on region. A different accent doesn't mean you change the entire way you speak. You can just change the way you say certain words to have a new accent. You only notice my Canadian accent when I say words like couch and process. The most of the time I have a west coast accent and I have a southern accent when I get worked up about something. The non-accent you are talking about is an accent that is close to the west coast accent but like I stated before, it's only with certain words that you notice the difference. Sorry for the long rant but I just wrote a paper about this for my world language class so I like to pass on what I learn.

Sussex, New Brunswick used to have a mega pop factor, and Barbour Foods is there too, it has been there a long time. It makes spices as well as the King Cole tea. I actually live down the road from the building, in a small subdivision. Sussex is just a small dairy town.
I kid you not when I tell you that I used to drive 6-7 hours one way to cross the border just to get that same King Cole Tea - I personally think it's the best tea in the world! On a side note Renae is over here dying to know where you got that tea cup...she wants it!

Cheeky Tam In case you weren't aware, the US has a candy called "smarties" too, but they're nothing like that. They are a sugar candy type of thing that comes in very small round disks with indented sides. They come in various fruit flavors and as you suck on them they turn into a powder. I'm always kind of intrigued by the candy bars with the wafer biscuits in them because I don't think there really are any like that made in the US that I have seen. I'm also not quite sure that Hershey is Canadian because it started in Pennsylvania, but Hershey probably licensed it ages ago. As always, you are very entertaining. I'll be in the hospital most of June, so I can't wait to see what you post while I'm gone when I get back. :)
I looove Gingerale. Especially Canada Dry. Also, I think these are all Maritime Canada things. Here in Ontario I have never seen most of those brands for sale.
