Most of these places that have a vague German origin also are not pronounced the way you say they are in German. Schenk is also pronounced similarly to ‘shenk’ in German, there is no /k/ sound in the ch there.
@@heiliger_sturm I was referring to the old New York, not German, pronunciations. I don't speak German nor have I ever traveled to that country. But I grew up in NY from the early 1950s and lived there thru 1987 so I know first hand how they used to say things. 😀

Yes, indeed, as the intro copy says, let's .." keep the traditions of their homeland alive.."
