He's the one who taught me how to sing and even play the guitar at the very young age. Sbi nya kasi.. nakikita nya daw ang interest sa akin.. He passed away 2006 due to complications sa liver because of diabetis and that time biglang nagplay ang song na to and finally came to understand its meaning.. kaya pala.. ikaw na ikaw to papa.. 😭 This will always be our favorite song... At hindi ko mapigilang umiyak sa oras na nririnig ko to. I love you papa at miss na miss na kita ❤️❤️
Whenever I listen to this song, I can't help my tears from falling because every lyrics will remind me of my father. Although he's still alive and healthy, this song still fit to how kind and amazing father he is. I really love the message behind this song so much.

I miss my papa. He passed away last Feb. 28, 2022. Every morning I wake up thinking that you are just outside the room preparing for my breakfast like you always do. Thank you for everything and for all the sacrifices. I wish I was able to say i love you more often when you are still here but I know you are in a happy place now and no more pain. I’m so sorry for your loss! Your comment struck a cord with me as both our fathers passed away at similar times in the year. My dad passed on February the 26th last year (2021) after a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer. It was a hellish experience with a lot of suffering for those of us who had to watch him waste away and for him going through the pain he went through those final months. Then the numerous tears shed the last week of his life when we all knew it was near the end. But even though it was hard…I feel that we were never closer as a family than we were that last week. He was the best man I will ever know in this life and I thank God Almighty that I had the time with him that I did. Today is a day much deserved for all the good and dedicated fathers out there to be remembered for their unrelenting love and daily sacrifices. May God comfort you in this time of grief. They say grief goes through many phases and you just have to pace yourself through it all. It’s been a year now and I don’t cry anywhere near as much as I did that first few weeks and months but when it hits me…it can easily take me down emotionally for a few hours to days after. Just hang in there and remember to tell those who are still here how much you love me appreciate them! And as a positive; just remember that both our fathers are in God’s loving arms for eternity!

This song reminds me of my uncles and my grandfather (their dad). They started a band in 1995, they were so young back then. My first uncle played the guitar, my second uncle played the drums, my third uncle sings with my grandfather and my fourth uncle played the piano. Now, my grandfather was already 64 years old and my uncles have their own works now but they still sing and plays instruments, especially guitars and piano. This song made me emotional everytime i heard this because it reminds me of them and my grandfather who was their leader. I saw their picture before and they told me the story and there I knew, It was a great memory and it was a memory that will never be forgotten.

This song wrecks me every time I listen to it, because it describes what I never had. But I made up my mind when I was 8 or 9 that I when I became a dad, I was going to be there for my kids. For a reason I didn't understand until we were empty-nesters, both times my wife was pregnant, I really, really, really wanted a boy. God gave me the desire of my heart both times, and my sons are now adults. What I didn't realize until my sons were out on their own was the reason I so strongly wanted boys: I wanted to put an end to a line of bad fathering in my lineage. I could raise a girl to be a good person and good mom - but I couldn't raise a girl to be a good father - I had to have sons. I lost my dad last May 2022, a few days before his Birthday. He passed away due to Chronic Kidney Disease and later multiple failure of respi organs. It hurts how I could vividly remember how he fought for his last breath while he's on my arms at the hospital. This song wrecks me every time I listen to it, because it describes what I never had. But I made up my mind when I was 8 or 9 that I when I became a dad, I was going to be there for my kids. For a reason I didn't understand until we were empty-nesters, both times my wife was pregnant, I really, really, really wanted a boy. God gave me the desire of my heart both times, and my sons are now adults. What I didn't realize until my sons were out on their own was the reason I so strongly wanted boys: I wanted to put an end to a line of bad fathering in my lineage. I could raise a girl to be a good person and good mom - but I couldn't raise a girl to be a good father - I had to have sons. And now I have eight grandkids, who have great dads.

I've heard this song from my eldest brother when I was just elementary. He liked to sing this song with guitar accompaniment and I liked hearing it. Sadly, my eldest brother died last June 7, 2022 during my 50th birthday. Every time I play or sing this song I remember him. Since then this song became one of my favorite song to sing.
My former band director passed this week..and we dedicated this song to him..he was so respected and loved..he was 92..So many great memories of fun times with Mr.Trantham..😢
My father is in hospice. His last days on earth with us. Joined the navy during Korea, but music was his life. He toured with Lee Greenwood in their band, The Apollos. Made a living and put a roof over our heads as a musician. Never became famous, but was larger than life to us. The last verse of this song sums up my goodbye to him perfectly. I did not pay attention on the lyrics of the song but when I listened to it, it reminds me so well of my father. He died last January 21, 2021. We missed him sooo much. He was 74 when he pssed away. He did not suffer so much when he died, he went on a cardiac arrest then everything's changed.

I lost my dad last May 2022, a few days before his Birthday. He passed away due to Chronic Kidney Disease and later multiple failure of respi organs. It hurts how I could vividly remember how he fought for his last breath while he's on my arms at the hospital. How hes been asking for help and I could do nothing and later made the hardest decision that I've never imagined I would do.

When we arrive, all of us circle around , my family , my aunt's family , and my grandpas siblings shivering in teers looking at our grandpas sake with our grandma beside him in teers😭😭😭. When the time came , his gone😭😢😭😭 my father looked at the pulse and its gone . We all cry untill spending our last moments beside our grandpa. I'll miss the times he gives me money every time i go to school. I'll miss him so so much that i would rather die in order to see him again🤍😭🤍😭🤍😭😭
