Such a nice gesture for Shohei to come out and bestow all those gifts on a young deserving fan in person. The kid was obviously in awe and grateful for what was presented to him. What bothered me, though, was that I read many of the bobblehead dolls given out prior to the game were immediately offered for sale online after the game. That's disrespectful and money-grubbing. The actual memento didn't seem important enough to them.
The young man is 14-year old Albert Lee. He was born with a heart condition that required a total of 3 open-heart surgeries plus one abdominal surgery throughout his young life. Albert has fully recovered now and plays on his Little League Baseball team.
