So happy you’ve started posting on UA-cam, I’ve recently bought your book off Amazon and had trouble with gestures but your tutorials have been a great additive to help in understanding. And just when I was having trouble with hands you posted this 🙌 ❤❤
This may seem like a dumb answer, but the beginning. Gesture allows for an understanding of the drawing process at its most abstract and foundational level. We learn to draw by understanding the way line, shape, and form work and convey information, not by outlining or capturing the silhouette of a reference. Just my two cents as everyone is different.
Hey Michael! How long did it take you to get comfortable and precise on your intous? I cant seem to get used to the disconnect - do you think its just a matter of practice?
Hey Michael! Do you think your brainstorm Figure Drawing class would be okay for a beginner? Im thinking about it, but don’t know if it would be too advanced for me Thanks for your content, it’s quite amazing!
In your book, when your illustrations portray a backhand, it's not shaped like a box of cards and more like a skateboard ramp. Is there a reason for this?
I build a roof with a peak on the top of the box of cards to represent the top of the hand. This is to reflect the pitch of the hand on top to the middle finger.
Please make thumbnails so people know that this is a different kind of video than your previous ones. before you didn’t make any voiceover or face cam.

you mean beside give you life, send His Son to die in your place, and offer you the opportunity to have eternal life?
Yay new synapses. Things really clicked following along. Thank you!
So amazing, one thing is using your books but watching you draw is a huge difference, a lot of great information, Thanks ✌

If someone has no drawing experience or skill whatsoever and they want to learn from your book - will that be a good place to start?

It took a while for me. Ya, just stick with it. It'll feel comfortable eventually.

Yes, definitely. I've taught both classes (FIG1 and Foundation Sketching) to all levels.
@@stevenmichaelhampton which would you recommend for a beginner to do first: fig1 or your proko course?
Probably the Proko course mostly because you can forever return to the videos and rewatch as much as needed
@@stevenmichaelhampton I think I’ll do that then!
