What we see is based on history repeating itself through ignorance and not bettering our public schools. It is the Trojan horse but not- all European history repeating wanting a king. The problem is not religion, but rather the religious. Especially the hateful hypocrites who seek to force their erroneous beliefs (against what their religion they claim to believe espouses) onto others. Also, don't forget those who worship mammon -- the greatest religious threat of all. However, as this video depicts, not all religious people are hateful and evil.

    I'm an active Latter-day Saint Christian and FULLY support eliminating white Christian nationalism, destructive religious practices and bigotry, of all kinds. IMO, religion should be a vehicle for teaching: love, peace, service, forgiveness and no judgement, and to form groups for service projects and opportunities. I believe Jesus was a liberal who helped the poor and needy and taught non-violence, as we all should follow, and he taught to simply support the government by paying taxes and peaceful relationships. He NEVER taught his followers to take over the government and force their beliefs and opinions on others, as MAGA does.

    PLEASE ADDRESS THESE ISSUES:
    I talked to a man who said two things that I think are vitally important to deal with:
    1. Founding fathers were ‘biblical’ … not ‘christian’ or ‘religious’ but ‘biblical’. It they were then they would not have made a constitution of WE, FOR, BY THE PEOPLE
    2. That he believes christians are being discriminated against … how do we address that?

    • @kesagatame
      @kesagatame 7 днів тому

      Christianity of the New Testament has persecution as a core tenet. You won’t convince any Christian that they are not being discriminating against even though they make up a majority in the US and also control politics. We can only continue chipping away at this theocracy with efforts like you’ll find here.

    • @petersage5157
      @petersage5157 7 днів тому +5

      I know that Hitch and Dawkins have both written a lot about the Founding Fathers and their stances against a state religion, but off the top of my head Jefferson and Madison were both quite vocal about separation of church and state, and Paine was critical of all organized religion.
      As for "discrimination," they are the second largest religious group in America (behind Catholics, which they don't recognize as Christians) and they have massive social and political power. How can a group that is in power be victims of discrimination? They push this fictitious persecution narrative because it is essential to their interpretation of their specific edition of the Bible.

      There were great disparities among Founding Fathers, which is in part how the Bill of Rights ended up as amendments outside the body of the Constitution as originally proposed, and how "Incorporation" ended up a ratified 14th Amendment as of 1868, and not an original element (changing the former 1st Am. restriction to "Congress shall make no law").
      Of note, 9 or 13 Colonies had been theocracies, 3 remaining as such after formation of the USA for some decades. Southern Anglican theocracy was closed down for 40 years with the Revolution, but Northeastern Congregational and other Protestant theocracy and tax supported church was not until years later.
      The implementation of the 14th Amendment, such as by the Civil Rights Act of 1871, remains to this day the most litigated element of our Constitution, due to conflicted factions, and difficulty defining what "equal protections of law" even means.

      I would suggest Annie and Dan get over their personal prejudices, to the extent some run contrary to the very civil rights standards FFRF purports to advocate for.
      Given "Google Gaslight" and algorithm driven censorship, shadow banning, or devaluing, and use of YT and worse, Meta, in official government info outlets and legal public forums, we need stronger case law and remedies to shut down both government and government agent censorship of lawfully strict scrutiny level protected speech, like it or not by different social or economic or religious values.

      @@kesagatame I'm not sure about Reddit as often a chaotic viper pit, but Alphabet (stock owner of Google, YT, and spy and ad sister entities) clearly is a problem in bad faith (re: safe haven law), and confuses when channel owners or those AI bots are acting abusive.
      The bot behaviors also seem to vary with whether or what monetization a channel owner configures, and so they're also never unrelated.
      Case law for public forums leaves present remedies for those cases that are clearly illegal, and not just unethical, vague as to which parties are liable or culpable, or how violations may be prosecuted.

    • @kesagatame
      @kesagatame 5 днів тому

      @ it is my experience that these issues have become more apparent recently (since COVID) as I suspect the original interest was to curtail misinformation. Now it seems any opinion that may diverge from the channel owner is flagged or simply deleted.
      I see from your account that you’ve been on the platform for a while (I think I’m going on 16 years) , so you’ve witness these trends over time. UA-cam is no longer the place it used to be due to monetization.
