  • Video Recorded on June 19, 2021: First of all, I wanted to wish Julien (‪@FloridianElevators‬) a VERY Happy Birthday!! :D I figured why I share this anyway. I also included a room tour as my family and I have actually stayed here when we stopped in Atlanta for the night. I was VERY GLAD I stayed here mainly to see these amazing systems from over 40 years old now. As you know, the Otis Elevonic 401 elevator system was the very first computer basic microprocessor that was introduced in 1981, and they have made some of the best systems out there! I also want to give credit to Nathan (‪@ElevatingDenver‬) for getting a recent video of these elevators and how they still lived on since Connor (‪@musicfreakcc‬) filmed these a decade ago. Otherwise, I wouldn't know about this anyway, or worse...I may thought these have already been modernized. Speaking of that, I sure hope these DON'T ever get modded as part of this hotel (at least the main lobby and part of the basement) is undergoing a massive renovation at the time we were here. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this and Happy Birthday, Julien!!! :D Installed in 1989 (last 401 installs before the 411 took over).

Thank you so much Jim! I hope you had a fun trip whereever you went! VERY Nice Elevator System!!! I'm sadly thinking these elevators will be modded within the next few years as this is currently one of only 3 or 4 known Hilton properties that still have 401s to this date, the rest have all been modernized in recent years. At least you got a good video of these elevators though, and hopefully I can make it here in the near future whenever I take a road trip up North again.

Also, regarding your description, AdazElevatorz found out after talking to Otis techs that Elevonic 401 was sold in North America until 1991 and that it coexisted with 411 for a couple years after it came out in 1989.

I’ma Guess That They Skip 13 In Elevators (12 14) Because Of How Friday The 13th Exists

Not trying to be rude but self promotion doesn't make you look good. (The reason is it makes people think you only care about you and your channel) That's all I'm saying.

What a cool coincidence that we both ended up coming here in the same year. Glad to see you're still doing elevator videos too.

Hey, how have you been? It’s been forever since I have heard back from you! I’ve also heard you hung out with both Sam (SPS8 elevatorsoflakecounty) and Riley (Train & Elevatorfan8150) while in town? And if I’m not mistaken, I think you were here like about I think two or three months before I ended up not only visiting, but also staying here. Anyway, I hope you’re doing well!

@@JimLiElevators hey Jim, I'm doing alright. I don't really use Facebook anymore, so I guess that changes communication now. I do hang out with Sam a lot, he goes to school at DU in Denver. Riley was in town, so we went to film some stuff in downtown area, I'll try to be uploading that content soon.
When I was in Atlanta I stayed at the Sonesta Hotel nearby that used to be the Crowne Plaza, but I checked out a few hotels around here. Do wish I could have visited downtown, but I can do that another time.

@@ElevatingDenver Actually Nathan, I think I feel like I’m on the similar side as you in terms of not visiting Downtown Atlanta. However, I was in town to see a friend and although we did pass through downtown, I didn’t even planned to legitimately stop there at all. That’s the thing; I was on a family vacation to North Carolina and we happen to stop here for overnight. Yes, i’m well aware that Sam (SPS8 elevatorsoflakecounty) attends University of Denver. Speaking of college, do you know where you are attending and what you’re majoring in?

@@JimLiElevators I go to the University of Colorado in downtown Denver. I'm working on a computer programming degree. I plan on going back to school this fall.

@@ElevatingDenver Believe it or not, my dad actually went to Denver about couple months ago, but I was finishing up school finals so I wasn’t able to go with him and plus he had a lot of plans too. However, if I do make it down there, not only I’d be happy to meet you, but I’m mainly interested to see the 1957 Otis square touch elevators. Other than that, I don’t really even film in such big cities anymore mainly due to the risk of increasing security (unless there are anything vintage and historic), which is the reason why I didn’t go to Downtown Atlanta.
