    Best series on the channel by far. I know your brother handles short game but I would be awesome if Todd could do a series on short game like this.

    This was the video i needed. Everything else working perfect but seeing you show how the arms finish the movement when they get to about your hip make so much sense of how i came over the top because i swung with my whole body at once.

    I really enjoyed this lesson on braking. Never thought about it before and braking on the leading leg seems to have really helped. Thank you.

    I've never come across this type of swing mechanical breakdown before where it all makes perfect sense. These videos are awesome Todd.
    I think it's the simplicty of the swing.
    Combined with.
    The easily repeated movements.
    The science behind what needs to move. The science behind when it needs to move.
    And the science behind why it needs to move.
    Fantastic breakdown.

    Practice! Practice! Practice! The 7 nuts and bolts video lessons were very informative and easy to understand. I'm practicing the nuts and bolts 3-4 times a week. I've had a few cross-threads when trying to join the bolt and nut. 😂😂😂 but that's the funny side in learning the SPS. It has other golfers scratching their heads when watching at the range or on course. They mouth ”what the heck” followed by a blank expression. All good fun. Thanks Todd

    I know for me whenever I over swing and not use the front knee to brace and stop, it causes all sorts of problems. Swinging around the braced front knee is probably one of the most important features of the swing that can’t be overlooked. Consistency in bracing the knee has been a key component for me. Stops the pulling of shots and also blocking shots by not finishing around the flexed knee. Thanks Todd for all your videos and help making golf more fun and a lot easier on my lower back. Can’t wait for the next video. You have the best breakdown and explanation to make things understandable and simple.

    It is absolutely clear that Mr graves. Is completely emersied in every nuance of MOEs golf swing... IV always been naturally very athletic and good at sports..is just something I comprehend..and I can see what Todd sees in his swing..and it's without a dought.. like MOEs said ... A MASTER MOVE,, and MOE MASTERD IT...

    I've been trying the single plane for the last year. I'm 61 and I'm hitting the ball the best I have in a very long time. It's not always perfect but man - this sure has made golf fun again ! Thanks Todd for the great videos! ! One issue I do seem to have is in my alignment. It looks like I'm aligned to my target. Then I when I hit, the ball goes straight but its very left of target. I must be twisting or something during backswing. But it sure beats the heck out of topping the ball all the time.....haha....

    This is helping me so much, I went this week out on the course for the first time ever. I have been practicing for 6 months, 3 of them with the Single Plane Swing. I shot 124 😂 i was a bit nervous being with my grandpa and playing in an elite golf club here in Monterrey, Mexico. It was an amazing experience, and I had some good shots too, even getting out of bunkers in one shot. Thank you Master Graves for your teachings.

    6:52 - @Todd - Your lower body movement toward the target during the backswing was a thing of beauty! The X-Factor separation in this swing is probably the best I've ever seen you do. Positionally, what you showed before the swing and the actual were nearly identical at every step. I also noticed your hands were slightly higher in the last frame of transition, than your usual. That swing was down right majestic. I actually think your swing is better now than it has ever been!

    I like the nuts and bolts videos.
    But can you also give us some of your thoughts around using the single plane swing in slopes?
    Both up and down.
    I have been playing consistently better since I changed to single plane.
    But I find I`m not as consistent when I play on more slopy courses as I do on flatter courses.
    I think I`m struggling a bit more with the side bend or something like that.

    Todd would "crushing the can" help me with transition, lifting the left heel and then slamming it down to start the downswing?

  • @markcousar8173
    @markcousar8173 3 роки тому

    Hey Todd, as I am transitioning (during practice) can I concentrate on turing torso to initiate the vertical drop and once my club is at parallel (torso is stopping) then the arms and wrists finish the swing. I think that I am getting my body to forward sometimes and I need a swing thought during practice to overcome this. Thanks for all of your videos....

    Is it impossible to swing over the top? I have doing this since 95. Thank you

    It looks like you are consciously keeping your right elbow tucked in against your body on the downswing? It may just look that way from the slow motion/practice swings you were doing though I appreciate. Is it true in reality? Many Thanks. Tim

    Hey Todd, like so many, I’m loving this series. As a relative “newbie” it’s been a great help, thank you! Question…if I’m hitting the ball too high (about 16° launch angle with 9° driver with low launching shaft and low launch iron shafts) could it be I have TOO MUCH side bend at impact? Not enough forward shaft lean? Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks in advance 👍

    • @ToddGravesGolf
      @ToddGravesGolf  3 роки тому

      I would check a couple of things since you’re launching the ball so high mostly I would narrow the stance slightly make sure the ball position is not too far forward and I also hit a 7.5° driver. It sounds like you have some clubhead speed so you might want to go to a less lock the driver.

    I bought your book on Amazon and have two quick questions:
    1) Do I need to buy the heavier natural golf clubs, and
    2) If not, should I change the lie angle?
    I’m in Dallas. Where are you in Oklahoma?
    Thanks, Paul

    • @ToddGravesGolf
      @ToddGravesGolf  3 роки тому +1

      You need clubs that fit your new address and single plane swing. Not heavier. The lie angle is usually flatter but again, you need them fit to you individually. Yes I am in OKC.

    @Todd Graves Something that I'm realizing is that after 1.5 years of implementing the single plane swing I've broken two (2) Callaway Maverick shafts. When I think back over that period I realize that I'm hitting the ground. ALOT! Is this due to the tilt at address? Is this common for people who implement this new type of swing? Thanks for any help.

    • @kmotley517
      @kmotley517 Рік тому

      Side bend - not tilt.

    • @ToddGravesGolf
      @ToddGravesGolf  Рік тому

      A couple of things. No, it is not common at all. It could bee a number of things. Too much sidebend or forward bend. Most likely shaft is too steep for some reason. I suggest connecting with our coaches so we don't guess at the problem / solution. Email me a toddg@gravesgolf.com and let us help you figure it out. Thanks.

    Whenever I watch other videos about traditional golf swings, I can't help thinking about how inconsistent so many of the teachings are and how they're tearing up their back. It just doesn't make sense anymore, the old swing really seems like it's all about creating your own swing that works for your specific body and muscle memory, not letting your swing balance you and then changing it to change your shot

    Anyone who has ice or roller skated knows how to "crack the whip". For the end person in the chain to go fastest, the first person stops completely and that starts the chain of events that increases the speed of the person (clubhead) being whipped. ;)
