I own several Pro Divers. This is a homage of the very first Submariner from 1953 serial no. 6204. I own the classic black bezel steel one. There‘s an issue with the dial which is one mm misplaced ( bad luck, I think). Besides that I think the watch is stunning. There are the usual features (crystal, bracelet) which are considered downsides meanwhile but you cant beat the overall quality of the watch given its price. Btw, Pro Divers are assembled in Malaysia, not China (like nearly all Seikos). Ok, Invictas cartoon watches are another thing but the Pro Diver collection is really, really good, imho. Thank you for this balanced and fair review. And, my daily watch is the Pro Diver 9937 OB with a Sellita movement, better bracelet and some other refinements. Its crazy accurate ( < 2 spd) and I love the watch. I dont care what people think and say.
Hey Thomas, and you know what? You wear the watch, no one else does. Enjoy it, and I agree with exactly everything you said! Thanks for watching and your comments, I think others will find it very informative.

Haha, fair point. TBF, I am a fan of vintage invicta! And I have been trying to find a certain model for years. But I will also admit what they have put out in recent years (in certain lines like pro diver) sure is getting better! Snob or no snob, I’m starting to come around
I have a submariner...Tudor BB..even a seiko 007 skx....and still reapect this watch....if it was quartz I wouldnt give it second thought...but Automatic with 200 meters and looks like this? Im a fan now...Of this..it has turned into my travel watch when I go to other countries.
SS version....I travel to other countries alot and keep my expensive watches at home as certain places you dont want to attrack certain attention. Fun watch for sure.
I know this post is a year old. I travel sometimes to some pretty shady countries and even shadier areas in them. Word of advice. Keep a Rolex clone around. If you get into any trouble you can trade your way out of almost anything with a cheap Rolex clone. The people who you trade with won’t know the difference. It can keep you out of jail or can get you extra cared from a bad spot. Give the watch to the police/border gaurds and tell them to get you out of there. Or not get arrested on some made up BS. Just thought I would mention it
Invicta 1953 is a very nice watch, I have one in stainless steel (silver)... Did you get the black because of the price? It's bound to get scratched, and show up.
No, I always have this idea that I’m going to love the IP coating. I have a vintage Precista with IP and I love it when they get worn. It’s a rugged look. Look through my videos for the Orange dial Precista to know what I mean.
OK I'll have a look. Totally agree with you on the Vintage look, I enjoy it too and I have several Vintage watches. Nevertheless, I'm not a great lover of a watch which is completely black because somehow when they get scratched, they don't look the same again.
@@an_accessible_watch_4u yeah, take a look at that video. First of all, there are like 50 of those in existence. And I had been hunting around for one forever. Anyway it was already had “patina.” But I get what you are saying.

Proper heritage, real brand and the 1953 rocks, I do hate most of the range but the pro diver is a solid product and I love my '53 steel. For alot of collectors it ticks the vintage diver box without being an obvious homage, no mercedes hand was the clincher for me. Never want to be asked "is that a Rolex?" until it is.
I collect swiss watches along with others - Invicta watches are good to great if you know which ones to buy most watch companies make high-end ones i polish and dehorn my watches when you do this it makes your timepiece bad ass no matter who made it - Invicta makes swiss made and use sapphire glass high-end Invicta watches are great for there price - good video Sir
Great review! My only negative, is that the bezel should have been fauxtina like the indices and the hands. It does not look right. They slapped the same bezel on all of the related 1953 models, and overlooked what could have been a "perfect" setting.
Great review Blake..I’m a bit in the fence on which finish to go with…I’ve always been a Tactical black watch etc fan, however the brushed silver looks like it would pair better with a suit?? However after watching your review in the dlc coated version I’m starting to lean towards old habits…keep up the great work. 👍🦇
Hey man, nice video, I'm looking for the coke bezel one. May be I will soon. I'm also a watch fanatic and tried to start a channel. Congrats on your start as a watch channel. Keep doing a good job! 👏🏻
Thank you so much. I figured I flip through so many watches, that people might as well see them! I love coke/pepsi bezel watches. I have a Glycine soda I will show here soon. TY for the kind words!
I think this watch would go well with one of those shiny smooth seatbelt natos, problems is finding one with PVD hardware to match the case. Great review by the way, very informative. Wish you good luck with your project!
I need a an all black watch in my rotation and this might be the one, for the money you can't beat it, or actually you can. Invicta make good beaters😂😂
Great revieuw man. I also own a invicta 1953 awesome thing and yes it is an invullen😂😂 I own the one with the red bezel but polishing the whole bezel and now it is custom made. No one ones one like this one 😂
I think Invicta PDs are fantastic: unbeatable quality and value for money. I wear one frequently - and give my lovely, but boring, Oyster Datejust and my Omega Seamaster a rest!

You mentioned a couple of awesome watches. When I was on active duty in the Marine Corps, my picks were Glycine and Marathon. Semper Fi 🇺🇲

And one others thing….hey, it’s “our” wrist that is wearing whatever watch, right? If you like Invicta, GO FOR IT! 😀
Fair and unbiased review. Been wanting a no date auto as my daily, this might work.
Thanks. Look, for the $ it is VERY hard to beat, imo.
Great watches with good dependable Seiko movement
100% agree with this. Hard to beat the NH35!
You never know,...Invicta might evenn release an extra special edition of the 1953 running on the Selita SW200...Here's hoping!
That would be cool!
YESSS!!
Invicta has come out with the Pro Diver 8926BRB that has a sapphire crystal which would also look great on the 1953.

Mine has just arrived just got to get a nato pvd strap to go with it and going to put it my rotation
Going to look sweet!!
Flipped it within 2 weeks was just Meh
What nato straps are those?
extreme natos (via eBay) they are great
Thx!
Great presentation. Cool looking watch. Looks awesome on the Nato strap.
Paired it with leather for the winter, looks really nice that way too! Thanks for the kind words!
Beautiful reviews
Glad you like them! And I appreciate you watching!
Bought the PVD bracket version on Amazon for $59 during a flash sale. Ridiculous.
Great watch for $60 thats silly

Some are good some are bad. There are some RolexesI hate. And some I love! The same goes with every brand!

Truth!!
No one talks about homage watches. But everyone wears one. It’s like trying to be a little bit pregnant.
Well, I hope you like my videos. I definitely buy and review homages!
This is a great watch. I wear it as much as my Tag’s and Seiko‘s. No apologies. I wear what I like.
