If you don't want to risk your Alienware laptop by using liquid metal for thermal paste you can use Thermal grizzly Carbonaut it's a thermal paste which can be reusable plus they have have a simlar transfer rate to liquid metal so long term it should be good that it what i did to my alienware m17 laptop for both the CPU and GPU I really like the alienware community it's just good overall ;)
@@sarveshroshan9437 Yes, exactly the same as in this video. When you expose your laptops CPU and GPU, just use isopropyl alcohol to completely remove the stock thermal paste on them both, then apply the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut in a thin X pattern on both and then reassemble. I literally just now finished completing this procedure myself. Used Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut to replace stock paste on my A51M with RTX 2080 and Intel i9-9900k.
@@lastsun6 hey Ben, when you had it apart did you notice if the fans can be swapped individually or am I gonna need a whole new heat sink assembly? My gpu fan sounds like a garbage disposal but the cpu fan sounds and works great. Im at the point of wanting to tear mine apart just to find out if it does lol
@@IIIMAGOOIII Hmm, I can't be completely certain, but I believe the two fans are inseparable from the heat sink assembly. When I opened mine up, the need for the two fans to be thoroughly cleaned of dust and debris was immediately apparent. There was SO much dust on the fans, cleaning them has seriously improved their performance. If I were you, I'd open the laptop up to check the fans for any obstruction that may be causing the loud noise you describe. If a thorough cleaning doesn't solve your problem, you may need to replace the whole heat sink assembly. At that point, contact Alienware support imo
It's not shown in the video, which is the only part the regular user would want to disassemble (since dust gets packed on the inside of the dissipation fins, and it will happen to all users eventually), so, useless disassembly guide.
I followed the procedure, I reassembled the computer when I turn it on I have a black screen when I press the power button it turns on it flashes orange for a while and then turns off. Do you know what it could be due to? -I have already disassembled the computer again to make sure I didn't forget any connections -I've tried doing on either with just the power supply or just the battery or both but the result doesn't change Help please!
I REALLY NEED HELP. MY LEFT SIDE HEATSINK IS OVERHEATING CPU 92+ cELSIUS, always high temp in task manager. i already put a new thermal paste and cleaned the fans.

@@poa-mr2gh I'm glad that it worked out for you! How long have you had the A51m? I'd be pretty shocked if my dead fan issue is all that rare among fellow owners, though I'm fairly certain that it's only the 2080 variants since it uses a different cooling solution.
I'm really glad that these videos are here, but I wish that it wasn't because my fans died after about 16 months in. Since the fans aren't off the shelf, I've had to swap the entire cooling system out twice for a fresh $250 a pop. It's worth it though, because I was able to upgrade my 2080 to a 3080, the dream that I'd initially had when purchasing the laptop. Just kidding. Haha, I wouldn't be this salty if it were just that the upgrade path didn't work out, but the computer didn't even stay functional for a year and a half. I run a business that requires the computer, so it's a little more pressing than not being able to play Fortnite for a bit. My previous OriginPC laptop that I'd used before this one still runs just fine, without a single fuss over the course of several years. I did cook that one by having it set to auto-wake while inside a backpack that I'd placed inside a car on a hot day. All power settings were set to performance, so it just blasted on while completely smothered in a hot environment and cooked the 1080 inside. When the cooling went out on the A51m, I actually went back to the Origin for a few days between the swap. I've put that thing through seven hells and it still fires right up and cools everything well. If the gpu gets too stressed, I do see the green pacmen of death, but it's crazy that it still works at all, and I bet if I swapped out that gpu everything would still run like new. I love that Alienware swung somewhat big with the A51m, but they know as well as I do; ideas are great, but products come down to execution. Better luck with future iterations.

Most importantly, is it easy to disassemble the fans and access the dust on the dissipation fins?

I have an Alienware Aurora R7 with a AIO/CLC Liquid Cooler and was wondering if I ever need to refill the liquid or is it all good?
Do we have to do all this when we want to clean the fans?
