Having the new actress already means they (the team) have known about this for a minute. I feel betrayed 😄😄 I'm glad she at least is leaving on a high note. She was really making that character work in a new and compelling way. Her talent has been proven week to week in people's homes.
Do you hear me?! I absolutely loved what Bailey was going with My Claudia. But yes, there’s no way this is some last minute news lol. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had Delainey in their back pocket since Mayfair aired 😂
I am disappointed too. She seemed so right for the part. I loved her interest in diaries, it was cute how they showed that. The new girl looks very beautiful too, and I hope she enjoys working on the series.
Bailey must’ve gotten offered something really good to not be reprising her role as Claudia in Season 2 I’ll miss her but this could play well into Armand’s mind manipulation of Louis.
I thought the same, hope she becomes a worldwide household name very soon. Having an entirely new actress play Claudia could really spice up this next season even more. Armand being controlling and like you said manipulating could be a very good look especially if they lean into it.
I know that you might not have seen Delainey Hayley but it’s like she was always Claudia I didn’t even think of the switch one time during her performance she’s great
This news was heartbreaking. :( I do wonder what fell through to make her involvement suddenly impossible. I hope they acknowledge the change in some form within the story with some trippy memory stuff - since we already know they'll be revisiting a lot of key season 1 moments from multiple perspectives in S2 and onwards. Anyway, I also don't know if I'm alright!! But it will be intriguing to see what Delainey and the writing team bring to the table to make this flow. And cool that she is another theater trained performer.
I empathize, I'm keeping my eye out for any stories that may shed some light on this. I wish Bailey nothing but the best and I'm excited to see what Delainey and the team had for us in season 2. &, like you, I'm excited to see how the actress change will impact the story visually when referencing the past. Thanks for watching 😁
I don't think anyone will ever outshine Dunst as Claudia. I watched the show and wasn't a huge fan with the way they changed a lot of stuff, but it was a good enough show and she did do a great job as HER version of Claudia.
I just started watching season 2. I'm so sad about the recast. Bailey was absolutely perfect as Claudia. Her voice, cadence, and accent was melodic. Her facial expressions were so animated. Her performance was so captivating and mesmerizing. Ughh.. pretty mad about this. I almost don't want to watch anymore... 😖
I'm good with it. I really liked her and was looking forward to seeing her continue int he role, but its happening so early and her time in the series, while impactful, hadn't really taken off. So I didn't get a chance to invest in the actor the way I did with Lestat and Louis. For example, if they replaced the actor playing Louis lives with someone else, it wouldn't bother me. Stretch comparison in relevance, but my investment in the actors is similar.
How do they not get the actors to sign a contract for multiple seasons? I understand she may want to do other films/shows.. but there had to be a way to film all her scenes.. oh well.
I hated the first Claudia. She just annoyed me, but then again maybe it's because I love Lestat. She took Louise away from him, so I would've hated anyone that played her. I hope they stay true to the book and kill her
I didn't even notice it was a different actress until I was watching someone react to the first episode, and they mentioned it. I did notice a difference, but I just thought the actress was tweaking the way she portrayed the character. I think they're both great in the role.
I understand is not fair to think like that, but, that are certain shows that carry a lot of affection from the audience, it has a legacy, so, whenever it is retouched it has to be carefully done. Interview with the vampire it's one of those stories, it didn't make everyone happy, but still, it was carefully though of, made with passion, and most of the changes kinda feel justified, plus why tell the exactly same story that has already been gratefully told in the previous movie? If they are going to revive this beloved classic , I think they have to give new elements to make it worth the attention, I don't have a huge problem with the changes but I can see why some of the audience would have, I just like to see this back and so well done. So given that It is already a delicate situation, when you work on a show like that, you have to consider those characters are not forgettable, ao you have to be careful to consider if is it really the type of show you need/want, in that point of your career, cause it might mess with the whole initial project to leave ot hal way through so soon after beginning... So I feel a little desapointed that after we got like this version and love the cast choices, Bailey left the project... It is that type of show people have deep love for. No hate to her, tho, it's just a little desapointing and kind of turn off to have to convince our brains that a completely different parson is the same character... It took away part of the excitement of keeping up... she would've ate those scenes I saw on the trailer, ugh It's sad but there a lot more to explore besides Claudia's storyline (tho it's the most iconic) I still think besides the changes it can be a great season worth watching and hopefully they'll even go beyond the previous movies and tell the rest of the stories. Hopefully.
This honestly makes me sad. Not having Bailey is going to take me out of the experience. I wonder what happened 🤔. I wonder if Bailey demanded more money or caused issues on set. Maybe she has to work on avatar instead. We'll probably never know what actually happened.
I don't know why your mind went there immediately to assume she was the problem, she's the sweetest girl why would she cause issues on set??? don't talk nonsense. Her Avatar shootings were delayed and changed schedule and she is bound to that by contracts until 2029 so she had to leave IWTV due to conflicts...
Doesn't look like it, even after she was announced to leave, the show official pages still praising her, her birthday etc, wishing her the best , if had been this controversial I don't think they keep mentioning her. Also she is not stable/known enough to come ask for a big cash yet, especially on a quite niche show, plus, it would be great for her career in the future to have carried the name of of the most iconic vampires. It's seems most likely she had to chose between this and another more mainstream opportunity and she probably picked the later...
What happened?? I loved the original and you change it after just 1 season.. cmon y’all. And then you say at the beginning of the episode-oh by the way, we changed actresses for this role. Is this a soap opera?? I gave this show more credit. Especially based in my hometown. There’s obviously other things going on behind the scenes but there’s a classy way to do it, or just be a soap opera. What is this show???
This is a HUGE disappointment. I'd been afraid all along that they were going to kill her off, but I was praying that they'd somehow keep her around -- at least for this next season. At least I now know it in advance so I'll have time to adjust to the fact that she won't be there. She was by far my favorite character in the show. Let's hope her replacement can measure up to her.
This is good news. Her Southern accent was cringe. Everyone else was on point and then you’ve got this Ms Scarlet accent piping in, glad they’re going with someone else. Nothing personal. Hope she does well in other venues.
@@carefreeblacknerd Christian Dunst is the one who set the standard. I don't think anyone will ever beat her performance for the character. She was a child actress that acted like a mature adult which is insanely impressive and something I've never seen anyone else do. Bailey did a good job though and I hate to see her go.
Just watched it and I didn’t like the new Claudia 🥹 it just wasn’t giving..she looks soooo much different too and I just didn’t feel like she did a good job. That’s just my opinion. 🤷🏽♀️
I loved her as Claudia, won’t be the same!
she dies any ways by the end of the covern arc.

She was in the Avatar world. Went to the Oscars too.
Bailey Bass will be working on the avatar movies for the next decade or so 😭
!!!!!!!!!

What ? Nah Dunst Claudia not better than Bailey.
She's supposed to be in the next 2 Avatars so i bet that has something yo do with it
Yeah. I’m sure that probably taking up a LOT of her time. Good luck to her
I’m curious as to what happened? Two weeks ago she was talking about filming in Prague.
@@esperensnare that’s what I saw yesterday. Tons of folks being upset with the avatar franchise because of it
The girl was in the world of Avatar. Making a bit more change.😮
This is the first I've heard of it. I need time to process it.
You have a bit of time before season 2. That’s the shock we all had when it was first announced

This did hurt, Bailey was amazing in season 1.
Devastated! Bailey Bass was the MVP of this series!
Yes indeed. Bailey was so good. Looking forward to seeing her in more things

That's cool, I've seen both good and bad reviews of Delainey but I land on her being good in the role.
I'm enjoying her as Claudia as well.
I like Bailey better. She brought life ti the series.

I was super sad to see her go.
That sucks, she was so good. Perfect. I'm sure the new actress will be good but the switch will be jarring. 😢
Yes indeed. She was great, I’m hoping the show uses the new actress to play with Louis memory and him being an unreliable narrator

Right??? I thought she was a terrible actress in it
That sucks balls .. not sure I will follow moving forward.😢
That sucks
😕 ; Dang it, I thought Bailey did a great job!...
Same here, she set the standard. I’m hopefully that the quality will be the same if not better with Hayles playing Claudia
