Worth the Cost? World of Color Dessert Party Review

The World of Color Dessert Party is currently offered at Disney's California Adventure Park. The dessert party starts at $89 per guest and includes a selection of desserts, cheeses, two alcoholic drinks and seated viewing for the World of Color show. I did the dessert party about 5 years ago and was so disappointed. We were seated in the front of the party section but the view was terrible, we couldn't see the bottom half of the projections 😔 We did the Wine Country Trattoria dining package the next night and had a much better view. But looks like they've changed the seating area for the party since then so I'm glad you guys enjoyed it 😉

I attended the Oct 11 early show seated at a high table at the top/center of the viewing area which was ideal, but the lower part of the projections were still blocked by the heads of the standing observers (similar to video seated at low table). Our group was two kids and four adults so being seated was a plus since the standing option would not have worked at all. First, the 22-minute show as impressive with the water jets, coordinated park lighting, music, and water-screen projections. Now the bad news. The dessert selection was pathetic as none of the selections provided any distinctive flavors (they must have been in storage for weeks!). We got two packs of crackers (3 each) with four cheddar slices, four herbal cheese wedges (dried out) and a small wedge of brie; I understand it previously was a bread basket which would have been better, but you can't store bread for weeks. The grapes weren't even washed. The desserts listed on one website indicated 1) triple chocolate cheesecake (really mush with no sense of chocolate), 2) raspberry-filled shortbread cookie (could at least taste a bit of raspberry), 3) gingerbread macaroon (no ginger flavor at all), 4) pumpkin spice bundt cake (looked like vanilla, but no distinct flavor of any kind) and 5) peppermint Mickey (rice) Krispie (again, no recognizable taste). The two vodka drinks were unrecognizable and were very watered down. I also noted very small portions of beer and sparkling wine. If you have small kids then you need to have a place to sit down so it appears that the only option is the dessert party. For $89 per person, I was very disappointed in the quality of the desserts and beverages. Having attended dessert parties at Disney World, I know Disney can do better.

we took our kids and it was great to have a place to sit and not have to fight for room. the food was fine and drinks were good too.
if you have the $$ all the dining experiences are worth it for the events for seating

You chose the low seating option. Do you think that was the best view? Or do you think the high seat area would have been better?

We loved our seats and the view but I honestly don’t think you could go wrong with either one.

Thanks for watching and for the comment. We do still think it is worth it. The seats were great, it was a really relaxing way to watch the show and loved that they also offer coffee and hot cocoa in addition to the treats.
