I feel like this song is about masochism. and the hand is casting a shadow of a dog on the wall. Something id often associate with masochists because of things like the owner and pet dynamic, pet play, collars and chains, often subs being called "puppy" and because dogs are often needy and restless without their owner as masochists are without someone who can control them. speaking from only my own experience here of course and it may not be that deep and could just be jjk
