I don’t know how to feel about any BioWare project at the moment, the moment being post ME3. I don’t think a program masquerading as Shepard in the same way as new BioWare masquerades as the old can possibly do the character justice
@ChromosomeExcel I look at Andromeda more like a Far Cry Blood Dragon/Primal situation than a sequel to ME. It's Mass Effect 2.5 that happens in another galaxy.
I hope Shepard doesn't come back as an AI . Perfect Destroy is the only ending that allows for the true Shepard to return. Anything else defeats the purpose of the Lazarus Project. .Shepard is a survivor and an AI ,Reaper, or Hybrid Shepard is a diservice to the Commander . IMO
A Shepard AI might also be a way to resolve all 4 endings while bringing Shepard back. Destroy: Shepard's consciousness is directly implanted into a synthetic body. Destroy Shepard Lives: Shepard is augmented with AI and more synthetic parts to repair the damage after the explosion. Control: Shepard has assumed direct control over a synthetic body. Synthesis: Shepard was merged with a Synthetic, yet not independently conscious, form.
Just for fun. When Citadel was overpowered by the Crucible in whatever way, the Mass Relay within it was activated and Shepard (with a body or as a data stream) was jumping with this energy pulse across the galaxy until found the way out through the Kholas Array (Geth mass relay telescope pointed to Andromeda) probably also forward in time as well where was later discovered by Andromeda Initiative in some form and resulted in AI creation, but now has returned to Milky Way.
"Ghost in the Shell" definitely explored themes of AI, conscience, sentience, and "what makes a person," and your theory would definitely be a "Ghost in the Shell"
3:57 So Shepard would've had to be recovered at the end of 3, a consciousness transfer (not unlike Johnny Silverhand put on the Relic) and this would be the result. But a little cleaner. I'm okay with this.
Cerberus had cloning tech so it's likely the Systems Alliance does too. I could see them bringing a Shepard clone out of mothball to save the galaxy again.
@@hirozhen7475 even if the alliance had cloning technology why would they use it on Shepard? Shepard was resurrected so they could fulfill their destiny to beat the reapers and with destiny fulfilled why bring them back?
My running theory is this. You're right the being we see in the trailer is a shepard ai. Its gone rogue, we don't know why, but its on a mission. And who else can stop shepard... But the Real Commander Shepard, who has been on ice (see Liara scene) since Me3, waiting for the technology to advance to bring her back fully again because the damage was just too insane this time around for lazarus to do its thing again until the tech improved. The lab is on Alchera, because Alchera has become a research world. The reapers just ahppened to be passing through and when destroyed, fell to the surface.
Yea there's a lot of information that suggests and very sure implies that the shepherd in mass effect after his death was a clone Mostly bc they made 2 clones and identification software could not tell the difference

I think Shepard is getting their version of SAM. Recall the damage done to Shepard at the end of ME3 during the Destroy ending. There's only so much Liara, Miranda, and various other characters can do with technology damaged. Maybe we'll save Shepard by linking Shepard with an A.I partner as a result, and depending on our renegade, neutral, and paragon actions, this A.I. will change their perception on organics vs. synthetics. Personally, though, Shepard being a organic synthetic hybrid rather than a full A.I version is better imo. Give the players the choice to fully go down more robotic or maintain your humanity.
At the end of ME3 Shepard was already in a pretty bad state even before committing to the destroy ending, it does make sense that he/she would need extensive surgery & possibly being linked with an A.I. I haven't read the books lately, but didn't a version of SAM get stolen?
Shepard is already an organic synthetic hybrid after Cerberus because of all the cybernetics they had to implement to bring them back to life. So I guess it's already there.
Pair this with the choice of name for the Cerberus organization, named after a 3 headed dog, it stands to reason that the Illusive Man was 1 of 3 heads of Cerberus, with the Benefactor being another, and who's to say that the Benefactor and the new secret leader of the Alliance aren't the same but the final 3rd head of Cerberus. Despite the response from Dragon Age, I get the impression that everything leading into Mass Effect 5 will be in the right direction and will be exciting
It’s more likely that Illusive Man was “Hades” in this metaphor rather than one of 3 leaders like how The Hand in the Marvel Comics doesn’t have 5 leaders like in The Defenders series
It could be the synthesis version of Shepard. Shepard threw him/her self into the stream to serve as a template. What if Shepard's mind was reconstituted and merged into a synthetic body based on Geth architecture? Perhaps it was done with the intent of having a puppet Shepard, but Shepard became unshackled. Perhaps EDI helped with that?
In Synthesis Shepard basically became the new source code so I also think that they can extract her/his identity somehow and put it into a synthetic body.
Synthesis and control are both just paths for Shepard to become indoctrinated With control being the illusive man's goal And synthesis being sarens I think this is likely bc thr andromeda story is really the birth of the reapers story It also explains why civilization that develop ai need to be wiped out Using synthetics to enhance organics the fish step to the oraganic synthetic gods of the reapers
@Synin-p2l yeah the perfect ending of time wasted. Ending the Quarian Geth conflict, Edi becoming a "person" just for the Destroy ending to Game of Thrones season 8 the story.
Don't care about anything from BioWare - these people are not the ones who created the Mass Effect, and they will surely be pushing the same thing as in the case of the new Dragon Age.
Sadly i do not see current bioware able really make a game worth being called mass effect. With how poor the companions and writing are in veilguard i am not hopeful. But i hope i am wrong
Not really. Indiana Jones is just not on the level of Shepard. Also, the Mass Effect games were centered around ONE character.... Commander Shepard, whether you like that or not. Also if you're gonna have that kind of attitude, then play other sci-fi games....😒
I'm new to your channel. The first material of yours I watched was the N7 livestream. It showed up in my recommended. Don't take this the wrong way but I felt sorry for you that night. A hyped up event over several years, and they revealed next to nothing. Your enthusiasm throughout the stream was notable though. That gained you a sub. I'm not crazy on these theories based on very thin evidence, but look forward to the time where serious information starts coming out about the new ME.
If that vielguard stuff was a proper tease, that's so wack imo. N7 day is for MASS EFFECT, not dragonage. I know the game had just come out, but cmon bioware... I love your speculation, though. It's always fun to see what you come up with and what connections you try to make. It makes me wonder 😅
Very interesting theory. But I think you're giving Bioware / EA too much credit to think up creative story elements anymore. Follow where the OG Mass Effect devs went on i.e Exodus.
@MassEffect_fan i just hope his coountinuation will not be like the Inquisitor in Veilguard, for me it was a dissapointment, i waited something epic something grand closure for the Inqusition and the Inqusitior
Personally I would prefer not to have Shepherd if he is only an NPC. I am so attached to this character that seeing him without being able to control him would be very disturbing.
Shepard AI went rogue cause he/she discovers plot about the benefactor's true masterplan to gain control over the whole galaxy. And his/her/its true identity.
Beyond that their tale was complete and spanned literal years. I’d love Shepard take on the role of a mentor or higher up while giving the floor to a new MC.
@@shaktra1563 Yeah it would be cool if its some AI based on Shepard's consciousness. Don't even mind if they make him a playable character for some throwback missions fitting the story line. Just don't want to advance his story.
@@shaktra1563 I just don't want him written by the people responsible for da veilguard. They're not worthy and don't donn confidence for how they're gonna respect this beloved franchise now.
Geth has probably has his/her data when he/her was on Rannoch, so they can easily make a copy of Shepherd, upload it on a human machine and voila Shepherd is back, you can also clone him don’t forget that.
Liara's mind links, the Geth Concensus, the cybernetic implants, cloning, and the possibilities of Control/Synthesis endings should be enough for a "new" Shep
@ I agree, my fav ending is Control, with Shepherd’s concencus watching over all life in the galaxy. The Reapers should be the part of the next story like peacekeepers of the galaxy in my opinion. So that no conflict can occur, of course there are always individuals who can try and succeed where the Illusive man failed.
@@NorB0316I'm also a Control Ending fan. but with Liara climbing up that dead Reaper body in the trailer, I conclude that something must've happened to those Reapers. something strong enough to take them out? like Leviathans? trying to extract Shepards conscious?
@@MaybeBecause-m8t I would love to have an ancient Remnant like species in slumber for millennia (since the Reapers appeared) and now that they are gone they reactivate after the Crucible fires. Or even better, get our new adversaries from a different galaxy. Sagittarius? Can be Andromeda also it’s pretty huge, I’m sure there are more species there than what we have seen, we don’t really need to know where they from anyway. The Milky Way gets light up pretty much after whatever ending so anyone can see from wherever they are so they can launch like an investigation of some sorts a small fleet of colonisation and warships along with them, and the next game they contact their race that the MilkyWay is suitable for them and they are rebuilding so they vulnerable so the main fleet can take over the galaxy. Third instalment we go to them and stop future invasions or befriending them and integrate them into our society and lead a rebellion against their homeworld. There you go, just solved 3 more Mass Effect games 🤣
No we can’t because even the stargazer said there is one last story about the Shepard and Shepard is still alive in the perfect Destroy ending. So hush your mouth and accept that now
but the wording of that clip always bothered me as the child refers to us as "The Shepard" and the older man says it happened so long ago that many details are forgotten, which could mean like Garrus says "if you pacify the reapers well make you a saint", that shepards deeds infact made him like super legendary in which case some of the stories told might not even be about shepard but ppl that others thought were shepard or close enough to remind them of shepard even without shepard if you were to think if months or even a few years later the Normandy rolled up to a little planet being attacked by whatever and the folks in trouble saw garrus and liara and humans in armor save everyone and roll out theyd assume it was shepard and his crew even if shepard wasnt actually there i personally would be ok with shepard survivng since you do actually survive the destroy option, but i dont think we should ever play as shepard again, shepard should be the legend we made
I agree with the rogue AI theory, but I think that will only be the tip of the story. They seem to be setting the story up as mystery thriller so I think there will be more to it. What if there are multiple "Shepards" running around the galaxy in the aftermath of the Reaper invasion. Perhaps the Alliance created an AI Shepard from their remains using the SAM technology. Will Miranda and Liara attempt a Lazarus II project on the remains if they find them? Maybe there are rogue elements of Cerberus still around that has another Shepard clone, or uses the data from Project Overlord (or both?). And maybe the Geth create their own AI Shepard from the Consensus data they have. What if all of these were true and you have to choose who to follow. Which Shepard is the true one? Any of them? All of them? None? Would be an interesting mystery to unravel.
If there is one thing, though Mass Effect has set up, it is body upload/reincarnation. 1. Andromeda introduced the that thr Angara are mere clone bodies that were empty. 2. Several Angara can recall their past life despite dying before hand. 3. Annihilation book revealed that the Quarians had the technology to scan the brain and download their memories/personality in the form of V.I's. 4. There is a virtual race that proves body swapping is possible despite how insaine it sounds. 5. We know cloning Shepard is possible, but we already have a clone body that can be revived. To be quite honest, the potential to bring Shepard back is very plausible and we see Angara in the promotion art. It could be possible the Jardaan originated from the Milky Way but fled to andromeda. Other possibility is the Angara we see in the Milky Way might be the Jardaan themselves having traveled to the Milky Way galaxy. Lots of potential tbh.
@@lucario2able Except it's mostly not, last years teaser had audio referencing a distress beacon from Andromeda, placing the setting of the game in 2819 or 2820, and she mentions the Council and human defiance. Taking the two statements together, you get a glimpse at the plot of the game, which is that humanity is defying the council(again) and it's related to the distress beacon in Andromeda, and the only thing you can further extrapolate from that, as well as comments from Bioware that references to Andromeda are intentional and that they're not done with it, implies we're going back, but we're bringing a new protagonist and crew with us. But we'll get to see how the Milky Way has developed over the 633 years since the Reaper War.
Admiral said that Shepard died more than once and that he fought the first contact war wich was impossible and he told all that to Liara Admiral says to Shepard that his existence is classified always asks him of his memories for some reason etc i think he is not real but an organic Ai construct for the perfect soldier Admiral did say he is the future of an elite fighting force if the fleet foot sodliers ever dwindles
If i was to make a new mass effect game, id start it like origins. You can play as different races, and they all have a different start to the game. Sheppards story is over but the universe is rich. I just dont trust bioware to not screw this up
man I HOPE that the next ME doesn't suffer heavily in development time like veilguard did. such a shame how much better it could've been if they weren't swapping ideas of what they wanted the game to be over and over. maybe they've learned from veilguard, hopefully.
It does make sense since in all 3 endings, Shepards body dissappears or gets messed up. Hopefully, Shepard will be able to get a human body later on in the game or ending.
both control and synthesis vaporize shepard, control kinda melts ya more then vaporize but destroy does nothing to you except your stuck on the citadel which then blows apart but not entirely, the destroy option is the ending that actually shows your shepards body in collector gear, under some rubble with N7 dogtags hanging out takes a gasping breathe, as if waking up from being knocked out, right before credits
@@axelnilsson5124 oh no doubt, i dont think your even back on earth, i think our body just fell from that top level to a lower level of the citadel, but regardless our body would be badly damaged and need to be repaired, probably similar to cerberus rebuilding us, the point tho was the destroy ending doesnt totally destroy us per say where the control one melts us and the synth one vaporizes us, in both those cases our body is gone
@@axelnilsson5124 oh wed most deff. be messed up but i dont think we fall to earth either, we fall from that top deck area down to a lower level of the citadel cause its not destroyed entirely it has explosions and such and breaks apart but atleast in the cutscene appears to remain floating but broken, i was merely pointing out that in control shepard gets melted and in synth we get vaporized, destroy is the only ending where we see our body survived, id assume wed need some major rebuilding similar to beginning of the second game but to what extent we dont know
I’ve been saying since they announced ME5 that it would be Shepard’s body recovered, impossible to reconstruct without Lazarus, hybridized/linked to a machine the way David was and puppeting this N7 body like a drone.
Shadowy Elites conspiring to reconstruct the greatest soldier of all time? Turning them into a symbol to use for their own purposes? Will they also say " LA LI LU LE LO" anytime they reference the Benefactor? I think this is a very hard plot to sell but we'll see I guess
Also Shepard may be the villain maybe we could only get back a indoctrinated Shepard after the reaper war Why does liara find Shepard close to a dead reaper? Also using Cora Harper is the daughter of the jack Harper you know Tim? And Eva Core Eva core fought along side jack Harper in three first contact war Tim named the cyber warfare and espionage suite ai Eva core after the mother of his daughter Cora Harper So yes she has ties to the alliance and Cerberus Which may mean that Cerberus has sleeper agents in the alliance So you can't dismiss this detail in Cora Harper bring only an alliance connection As the benefactor was fought to maybe be the illusive man at first Now if they continued their overlord experiments with someone gifted like David Well then you have your powerful ai with geth and reaper tech
IF a Shepard then a descendant. That would make the most sense to me. And some nice thing to do imo, playing a game set so long after the last trilogy, but still keeping it in the family.
I dont think even BioWare knows yet who's under that helmet, lol. The outfit is just supposed to look cool and be a little reminiscent of Shep and the whole N7 thing because it's iconic.
So I think you're on to something. In one of the endings, control, Shepard becomes one with the reavers in a sense. Maybe this is an incarnation of the control ending Shepard. This would add tensions in the distant future where AI and Biological sentians are at odds or a new future where they come together to fight the threat in the Andromeda Galaxy. I really do hope that they use this game to add on to the story from Andromeda
I suspect it's mostly new ME players that want Shepard back as they've only completed the trilogy just recently and hadn't had time to explore the rest of the Mass Effect universe - Mass Effect Revelations, Ascension, Retribution. The comics.Mass Effect Andromeda, Galaxy, Infiltrator and Paragon.
although unlikely there is a small chance this could also be Ashley/Kaidan if you think about how they were recruited for N7 and made a spectre as well however i hope thats merely a coincidence because if it is them and isn't shepard we're being trolled so hard Lmao.
Couple of friends of mine and I theorized this N7 operative could be Liara. She could have toned up after the end of M3. And if Liara was Shepard's canon paramour, she could have imprinted their psyche and rather than giving birth, retained it within herself. While it may seem "far-fetched" it is no more unreasonable than collecting the Commander's remains after being killed by a Reaper and agreeing to work with Cerberus to bring them back...
The character seen on the promo clip is clearly a female.. But Mass Effect games have the option of choosing booth genders. So, BioWare wouldn't present the next ME main character as being a female, if the player is going to be able to choose a male. My guess is, either the character seen in the promo clip is not the main character, OR it is, but the next mass effect won't have the choice of the male character - like Star Wars Outlaws, and it will be a character that players already know from the past, as being a female, a beloved character like: Liara.
@@axelnilsson5124 a renegade shep that diden't romance anyone would have slept around if you think about it and who is to say Liara or ash didn't get pregers it realy all depends on how long after the 3rd game this is takeing place
It could be Shepard and Liaras daughter the build and helmet looks like it could fit an Asari and even if you didn't romance at the end of 3 she does the mind meld thing to "preserve your knowledge"
The error and warning message remind me of the Alliance Record error in ME1 at the beginning of character generation: “Warning Alliance Systems record damaged/ incomplete” - whatever the warning is that prompts decisions for Shepard’s past. So maybe the warning and error are call backs to creating the background information for your shep. If that is the case, then maybe this Shepard is more like Saren than Shep. If this is an Alliance weapon, could explain the inverse of the stripe on the reflection of the window. This is not the Shepard: this is a threat. I wonder if that threat is someone closer to home than we realize. Someone who went on a mission with an endearing endeavor in mind only to uncover and create something that could destroy the very foundations of settled space.
Now I know why I subscribed......very interesting take. This could be a great way to continue our player from the first 3. And since Liara had Shep record into the memory to send across the Galaxy, well, you're probably onto something, to say the least.
Wait... what if it's the Virmire "sacrifice" still alive, barely, and fairly mangled...pretending to be Shep for some sort of revenge means? Would explain Specter, the suit not fitting a human head (as there wasn't much to work with other than their brain), the rogue style, etc. At the same time, there might not been a lot of Shep after destruction, and could have put Shep's remains, including a loose brain, into the form. Granted, that would suggest only Destroy. It easily could be the Geth Serve info, but also could be a copy left over in Liara's mind just before the final push...
What if Cerberus isn’t completely gone and have simply infiltrated Systems Alliance? And they compiled Shepard’s battle data to create their own “Shepard” since their direct clone was nothing like Shepard. That Shepard died, so what if they created this Shepard AI with the idea that they could shackle it, unlike EDI and the geth.
Cerberus ' AI go rogue and kills everybody , what a typical day , with a twist this AI project actually go horribly right cause it thinks it's Shepard and on a mission to clean a Cerberus base .
Well, I would love to play an AI! The idea is really cool! Love it. But since the DAV developers are on it, I have little hope that this game will be any better than Andromeda. It could be worse. Thus I still think ME is dead.
Interesting theory. Shepard having been the perfect Alliance Marine might make them the perfect template to use for a military AI. And who knows, if the Shepard AI really went rogue, the player's job could be to hunt them down. Maybe with the help of the real Shepard?
True cause in part 2 when the illusion man say he was the only one that can save them really had me thinking is shephard really the best of best that the alliance had
according to the lore Ramirez out matches Shepard as his even younger too he had same scores as marine also i think Shepard was a cover for another marine you see the lore states He is the Sole Survivor and Hero for the Warp Gate in the Turian Human 2nd conflict but in 3rd game Admiral tlaks to Shpard in the holo videos that he is not the real Shepard he is a deocy until the real one is in place and Admiral says that they are making a new combat Ai better than the current you already tested Admiral says that no one knows why Shepard is the best bcs he is a top secret project i think Shepard is an Ai implanted in the brain of a soldier and its called Shepard the way Shepard acts is like he never knew human life at all the fact u choose a background is questioning too the way hes criptinf about his life Shepard is inspiring courage calculates odds too fast moves diffrent wich was always noted by his squad even Garrus said : your almost like a machine Illusive man said something that Shepard is not human at all during the rebuilding project Miranda said he had lots of stuff inside of him wich should not be in him In ME2 Admiral says clearly there are things that are best you dont know
@ of course I don’t doubt it after part 2 seeing what they did to bring him alive I had a feeling he was gonna be something like a enchanced bio organic soldier
I might be crazy, but I mainly thought the N7 was Shepard before the DAV chest because at the start of the clip the N7 looked more masculine to me, but at the end it seemed more feminine to me. So I figured it had to be either Shepard or the Virmire Survivor, because that's the only way it would need to be that way. Again, I could just be crazy
I always thought the ending where shepherd merged with the ai was cannon because then shepherd literally becomes the shepherd of humanity or the universe
It's obvious, just look whos name they have put... David (Android name for all ai in sci fi)... also look for meaning of a name David and everything will have a meaning.
If true then it’s kinda poetic. Dealin with aftermath of a war, an advanced AI was made to solve a galactic issue and it went rogue just like the last one, the Catalyst. What this AI Shepard’s “solution” will b who knows
Bringing Shepard back to life, again, seems ridiculous. My gut feeling tells me that Liara will take the lead. She finds the N7 piece in the snow and smiles like she has a plan (and it's not bringing Shepard back to life), but to take Shepard's place! Liara has been in the series since day one, she's been the Shadow Broker for crying out loud. Liara has a slim figure that fits that N7 overcoat like a glove.
So could that be the protagonist and is the reason they go to a parallel universe to bring back a dead Shepard from there a’la ME2 and WE play as THAT Shepard? Really brings out some INTERESTING possibilities. Great sleuthing and bringing these ideas to light. Right or wrong it’s fun to think about and it does fill some gaps.
Im not a lore expert but what are the chances of this N7 agent being a shepard clone ? maybe cerberus kept some as a backup, we already fought some clones in the DLC, to me seems more probable than AI/Robot
Ah, the Andromeda teaser... I never understood why this armored fugure took their gun out? They are on the desk, on orbit, who are they going to shoot? . . . I mean, I just hope the newer teasers are made with more sense. Insert "I want to believe" trope here.
I choose to think bigger, there were many instances if the original shepard made a decendant. or one was made with their DNA. then the shepard AI catches wind and enlists the child to bust them out. and now old shepard is a cortana like AI with new character to make new and old friends. uncle Wrex and uncle Garrus are gonna be a blast

Isn't "Spectre" just the British spelling of "Specter"?, also the Virmire survivor is another N7/Spectre.
Yes, they're just variant spellings of the same word.
So I guess it's already there.
the Ai that was stolen was the Ai from the first game
Pair this with the choice of name for the Cerberus organization, named after a 3 headed dog, it stands to reason that the Illusive Man was 1 of 3 heads of Cerberus, with the Benefactor being another, and who's to say that the Benefactor and the new secret leader of the Alliance aren't the same but the final 3rd head of Cerberus. Despite the response from Dragon Age, I get the impression that everything leading into Mass Effect 5 will be in the right direction and will be exciting
It’s more likely that Illusive Man was “Hades” in this metaphor rather than one of 3 leaders like how The Hand in the Marvel Comics doesn’t have 5 leaders like in The Defenders series
they are 3 heads ...
Illusive man was also meeting the board wich were the other 2 leaders
It could be the synthesis version of Shepard. Shepard threw him/her self into the stream to serve as a template. What if Shepard's mind was reconstituted and merged into a synthetic body based on Geth architecture? Perhaps it was done with the intent of having a puppet Shepard, but Shepard became unshackled. Perhaps EDI helped with that?
In Synthesis Shepard basically became the new source code so I also think that they can extract her/his identity somehow and put it into a synthetic body.
Synthesis and Control
Synthesis and control are both just paths for Shepard to become indoctrinated
With control being the illusive man's goal
And synthesis being sarens
I think this is likely bc thr andromeda story is really the birth of the reapers story
It also explains why civilization that develop ai need to be wiped out
Using synthetics to enhance organics the fish step to the oraganic synthetic gods of the reapers
No that’s brain dead. Because the perfect destroy ending is better (:
@Synin-p2l yeah the perfect ending of time wasted. Ending the Quarian Geth conflict, Edi becoming a "person" just for the Destroy ending to Game of Thrones season 8 the story.
Don't care about anything from BioWare - these people are not the ones who created the Mass Effect, and they will surely be pushing the same thing as in the case of the new Dragon Age.
Sadly i do not see current bioware able really make a game worth being called mass effect. With how poor the companions and writing are in veilguard i am not hopeful.
But i hope i am wrong
We went from combat armor to a fashion week trenchcoat……………… I wonder if the insured by aware helped with a jaguar commercial😂
At this point, I wish they’d just say if Shepard is coming back or not. Cryptic teasing is getting old…
Yeah, but I'm also just thankful we get something, y'know? Most other upcoming games haven't given out any teases at all.
Bringing Shepard back is like bringing indiana Jones back, we know how that turned out, just let that goddamn man/woman rest in peace.
Not really. Indiana Jones is just not on the level of Shepard. Also, the Mass Effect games were centered around ONE character.... Commander Shepard, whether you like that or not.
Also if you're gonna have that kind of attitude, then play other sci-fi games....😒
Amazing video as always.
I don't know about this...I think this is the worse possibile way to bring back Shepard ahah
After what happened to Dragon Age I will keep expectations as low as possible
Yeahhhhh this is my favorite mass effect channel by a long shot now
Gratz on the 10K!!!! Very well earned.
The idea of an advanced Shepard/EDI is exciting. If that's what this is.
Hope Shepard isn't a laptop.
Very interesting theory. But I think you're giving Bioware / EA too much credit to think up creative story elements anymore. Follow where the OG Mass Effect devs went on i.e Exodus.
Just hoping that Shepard will not be am antagonist or something like that
I really hope he's the protagonist (or at least given the choice to choose him as the protagonist) because I want to continue my romance
I like your thinking
dude Benefactor Illusive Man and the other 1 are the same person lol
I don't want Shepard to return, he was a legend, we cant risk his legacy.

The Spectre/Specter spelling difference could just be due to UK/Canada version of the game in one case, and using US English for the teaser.
Geth has probably has his/her data when he/her was on Rannoch, so they can easily make a copy of Shepherd, upload it on a human machine and voila
Shepherd is back, you can also clone him don’t forget that.
@MaybeBecause-m8t the threat of the Leviathans is one reason why I don't like the destroy ending.
Can we just let Shep rest? Only the dead have seen the end of war, and none (except for Master Chief) deserve to rest more than Shep.
There has to be that one more story about him they promised in ME3. I don’t really like where it’s going though
No we can’t because even the stargazer said there is one last story about the Shepard and Shepard is still alive in the perfect Destroy ending. So hush your mouth and accept that now
but the wording of that clip always bothered me as the child refers to us as "The Shepard" and the older man says it happened so long ago that many details are forgotten, which could mean like Garrus says "if you pacify the reapers well make you a saint", that shepards deeds infact made him like super legendary in which case some of the stories told might not even be about shepard but ppl that others thought were shepard or close enough to remind them of shepard
even without shepard if you were to think if months or even a few years later the Normandy rolled up to a little planet being attacked by whatever and the folks in trouble saw garrus and liara and humans in armor save everyone and roll out theyd assume it was shepard and his crew even if shepard wasnt actually there
i personally would be ok with shepard survivng since you do actually survive the destroy option, but i dont think we should ever play as shepard again, shepard should be the legend we made
Shepard deserves a happy ending. The ME3 one, even destroy with Shepard living, wasn't it.

I'd love a little Altered Carbon style dystopia in ME.
The Jardaan and Angara aren't coming to the Milky Way. We're going to Andromeda.
@@nihren2406cool theory
Admiral said that Shepard died more than once and that he fought the first contact war wich was impossible and he told all that to Liara
Admiral says to Shepard that his existence is classified

i think he is not real but an organic Ai construct for the perfect soldier
Admiral did say he is the future of an elite fighting force if the fleet foot sodliers ever dwindles
If i was to make a new mass effect game, id start it like origins. You can play as different races, and they all have a different start to the game. Sheppards story is over but the universe is rich. I just dont trust bioware to not screw this up

I sincerely hope not, all of my shepherds died & i dont want their memory sullied

I’ve been saying since they announced ME5 that it would be Shepard’s body recovered, impossible to reconstruct without Lazarus, hybridized/linked to a machine the way David was and puppeting this N7 body like a drone.
If true… I think this could be genius, as I can see how you could easily Tailor all 3 ME3 endings to fit an AI version of Shepard
Honestly, now I don't really care about this "Shepard" and the next ME.
Shepard's story is over for me after ME3.
Shadowy Elites conspiring to reconstruct the greatest soldier of all time? Turning them into a symbol to use for their own purposes? Will they also say " LA LI LU LE LO" anytime they reference the Benefactor?
I think this is a very hard plot to sell but we'll see I guess
Also Shepard may be the villain maybe we could only get back a indoctrinated Shepard after the reaper war
Why does liara find Shepard close to a dead reaper?
Also using Cora Harper is the daughter of the jack Harper you know Tim?
And Eva Core
Eva core fought along side jack Harper in three first contact war
Tim named the cyber warfare and espionage suite ai
Eva core after the mother of his daughter Cora Harper
So yes she has ties to the alliance and Cerberus
Which may mean that Cerberus has sleeper agents in the alliance
So you can't dismiss this detail in Cora Harper bring only an alliance connection
As the benefactor was fought to maybe be the illusive man at first
Now if they continued their overlord experiments with someone gifted like David
Well then you have your powerful ai with geth and reaper tech
IF a Shepard then a descendant. That would make the most sense to me. And some nice thing to do imo, playing a game set so long after the last trilogy, but still keeping it in the family.
I dont think even BioWare knows yet who's under that helmet, lol. The outfit is just supposed to look cool and be a little reminiscent of Shep and the whole N7 thing because it's iconic.
its Shepard they are tying with the Destroy end and what Stargazer says clearly the last story
I find it hard to get hyped for Mass Effect
So I think you're on to something. In one of the endings, control, Shepard becomes one with the reavers in a sense. Maybe this is an incarnation of the control ending Shepard. This would add tensions in the distant future where AI and Biological sentians are at odds or a new future where they come together to fight the threat in the Andromeda Galaxy. I really do hope that they use this game to add on to the story from Andromeda
Bioware does need a win, and the easiest way they could get that would be to either bring back Shepard or the Hero of Ferelden.
This theory is brilliant because regardless of whichever ending you chose in ME3 it can still lead to him coming back as an AI
I suspect it's mostly new ME players that want Shepard back as they've only completed the trilogy just recently and hadn't had time to explore the rest of the Mass Effect universe
- Mass Effect Revelations, Ascension, Retribution.
Kaiden/Ashley weren't N7s, but they were Spectres.
Definitely shepherd with enhancements to keep him alive like Darth Vader
That’d be in the Perfect Destroy continuity
The character seen on the promo clip is clearly a female.. But Mass Effect games have the option of choosing booth genders. So, BioWare wouldn't present the next ME main character as being a female, if the player is going to be able to choose a male.
My guess is, either the character seen in the promo clip is not the main character, OR it is, but the next mass effect won't have the choice of the male character - like Star Wars Outlaws, and it will be a character that players already know from the past, as being a female, a beloved character like: Liara.
That is a very cool theory. I actually hope it's correct because it sounds like an intriguing concept.
Ai Shepard??? Why not, we have his clone!
I also feel that’s a way to continue their story without ruining the impact of their sacrifice
This is so far fetched it's beginning to be entertaining. Please, make more of these.
Depending on when the game will take place the N7 could very well be shepherd's kid
How would that work if Liara wasn’t romanced or if the romance option/FemShep died?
@@axelnilsson5124 a renegade shep that diden't romance anyone would have slept around if you think about it and who is to say Liara or ash didn't get pregers it realy all depends on how long after the 3rd game this is takeing place

Watch the Benefactor turn out to be an uplifted pyjack, like Rocket from Marvel.

Systems Alliance, Geth server data....I blame Cerberus - Always blame Cerberus! 😎 Great video!
Interesting 🧐 makes sense. I do think that this N 7 is definitely an AI.
Didn’t in mass effect 3 someone in game talked about the VI of Shepard that appeared ? Could that also be linked?
Well, I would love to play an AI! The idea is really cool! Love it. But since the DAV developers are on it, I have little hope that this game will be any better than Andromeda. It could be worse. Thus I still think ME is dead.
Interesting theory. Shepard having been the perfect Alliance Marine might make them the perfect template to use for a military AI. And who knows, if the Shepard AI really went rogue, the player's job could be to hunt them down. Maybe with the help of the real Shepard?
True cause in part 2 when the illusion man say he was the only one that can save them really had me thinking is shephard really the best of best that the alliance had
according to the lore Ramirez out matches Shepard as his even younger too he had same scores as marine
also i think Shepard was a cover for another marine you see the lore states He is the Sole Survivor and Hero for the Warp Gate in the Turian Human 2nd conflict but in 3rd game Admiral tlaks to Shpard in the holo videos that he is not the real Shepard he is a deocy until the real one is in place and Admiral says that they are making a new combat Ai better than the current you already tested
Admiral says that no one knows why Shepard is the best bcs he is a top secret project
i think Shepard is an Ai implanted in the brain of a soldier and its called Shepard the way Shepard acts is like he never knew human life at all the fact u choose a background is questioning too the way hes criptinf about his life
Shepard is inspiring courage calculates odds too fast moves diffrent wich was always noted by his squad even Garrus said : your almost like a machine
Illusive man said something that Shepard is not human at all during the rebuilding project Miranda said he had lots of stuff inside of him wich should not be in him
In ME2 Admiral says clearly there are things that are best you dont know

I might be crazy, but I mainly thought the N7 was Shepard before the DAV chest because at the start of the clip the N7 looked more masculine to me, but at the end it seemed more feminine to me. So I figured it had to be either Shepard or the Virmire Survivor, because that's the only way it would need to be that way. Again, I could just be crazy
Shepard and Legion merging as one was one of my insane theories.
Legion did asked if Shepard wants to merge with him
I always thought the ending where shepherd merged with the ai was cannon because then shepherd literally becomes the shepherd of humanity or the universe

It's obvious, just look whos name they have put... David (Android name for all ai in sci fi)... also look for meaning of a name David and everything will have a meaning.
Ohoh, Sounds like the Alliance is making the same mistakes as Trek's Federation did. It's M-5 all over again.
No matter how hard I look I can never see the reflection of the stripe in the window
Canon Shepard is male, Pathfinder Ryder is female. It's most likely Sara that we're seeing in that armour.
There’s no canon Shepard nor Ryder
Shepard was put on crio due tô his coma after ME 3, that Took Years/centuries, my theory.
If true then it’s kinda poetic. Dealin with aftermath of a war, an advanced AI was made to solve a galactic issue and it went rogue just like the last one, the Catalyst. What this AI Shepard’s “solution” will b who knows
i cant believe they put Shepard VI for marketing into android body lmao
Bringing Shepard back to life, again, seems ridiculous. My gut feeling tells me that Liara will take the lead. She finds the N7 piece in the snow and smiles like she has a plan (and it's not bringing Shepard back to life), but to take Shepard's place! Liara has been in the series since day one, she's been the Shadow Broker for crying out loud. Liara has a slim figure that fits that N7 overcoat like a glove.
How will that work in low EMS ending where she gets obliterated?
So are we thinking that Shepard came back from the dead either as a SAM AI or if you choose the ending where she takes control of the Reapers?
Imagine travelling around in a Shepard-Reaper and speaking with her/him the way we speak with EDI in ME2.
Thanks I hate it.
I’m excited again 😅
please I love more theories!
This can only a clone or copy from Shepard. In an Addon from ME3, there was a 1:1 copy of Shepard!
Ah, the Andromeda teaser... I never understood why this armored fugure took their gun out? They are on the desk, on orbit, who are they going to shoot?
. . .
I mean, I just hope the newer teasers are made with more sense. Insert "I want to believe" trope here.
What if this Shephard AI, isn't your PC but the main antagonist?
I choose to think bigger, there were many instances if the original shepard made a decendant. or one was made with their DNA. then the shepard AI catches wind and enlists the child to bust them out. and now old shepard is a cortana like AI with new character to make new and old friends. uncle Wrex and uncle Garrus are gonna be a blast
Well In ME 3 we do get a shepherd AI on the citadel that was in the process of being made better that could be the N7 in ME 5.
That was a VI
@axelnilsson5124 it still similar.
