- Well, guys, this is it. The final chapter of the RTS era. It the end of the era This bus model served as a demo for NYCTA in 1979. In 1981, the RTS era has begun, ranging from various manufactures such as GMC, TMC, and Novabus. The RTS has has been the powerhouse/backbone of the NYCT bus division for 38 years,serving both New York City Bus and MTA Bus Company at various depots. The era came to an end on April 30th , 2019, when the MTA pulled all RTSes out of service. The childhood beasties will always live on our minds; forever in our hearts. The RTS served our city for 38 years. This Memorial Day, let remember the era of the Rapid Transit Series, which were the last buses standing in NYC. Please enjoy this final salute tribute video of the RTS.

My mom gave me a reason why she didn't like the RTS bus it's because the seats were fabric meaning it's hard to clean something off.
Yeah. The fabric section of the RTS seats can be real messy. You gotta put detergent soap and oxiclean to clean that messy fabric up.
@@TransportationHub if only they didn't add the fabric if only they added the nice seats but of course they didn't even give a damn about fabric.
@@aaronsamuel2823 Yeah. The only buses that has fabric are the commuter coach buses; the other ones are just the hard seats.
