Great film. You need to visit Red light area after the bars and clubs kick out between 2 and 3 am is a sight of carnage. Literally blokes queuing outside those establishments. 😩

Beautiful Blackpool two words I wouldn't associate with Blackpool just remember to wipe your feet on the way out, and when I left Blackpool 23 years in that toilet was plenty

Me too Stephen, I was shocked when it started... I'd just sat down with a steak and chips with a pint, and loud music started playing from the speakers. I went to the bar to ask the manager to turn it down, and he told me to go upstairs to the "quiet bar". I wouldn't care, but the music they play isn't really my kind of music, it was more suited to teenagers, or "the younger crowd" as the management described it. It's a shame because I liked it in there!

I will be visiting Blackpool for the first time later this year, which is what brought me to your video. Enlightening to say the least!

As for any new city I visit, I always give the benefit of the doubt despite whatever good or bad I hear about said city prior to my visit. So far, what I've been told is that Blackpool is "a tragic version of Las Vegas in the US". Considering the fact I'm not a gambler, that point is completely irrelevant to me. As long as the pubs are good and the locals are friendly towards Americans, I'm GOOD!

Blackpool has fallen on hard times regarding visitors, but I don’t think it can be compared with Las Vegas, where I think poverty & deprivation is much worse off the strip, just more of a stark contrast than here I’d say. I follow a chap called Nick Johnson on UA-cam, who tours American cities looking at the not so nice areas. There was a part of Las Vegas where people were living in tents along a road.

Great video Stephen, keep wondering whether it would be worth coming up for some Street Photography at night in Blackpool, may wait until the season kicks in proper, should be a few more out and about then. The Mitre, may be the smallest but it gets bloody busy in Summer, seen queues outside that place, wouldn’t mind but it’s nothing special inside, just a nice little boozer. I love those lights, never really seen them when they’ve been at night, I bet you could get a good shot of those mate.

I just see the lights on and doors open. That is all I need to know. They are meant to blend into the environment and not stand out for what they are. For instance, garish neon lights of different colours & dancing girls in the window are definitely not allowed!

The Layton Raikes play loud music at weekends! Usually starts around 8pm! Wierd for a wetherspoons...so I ended going to the 'Albert and the Lion'!

There is a new job centre in Blackpool, its in the old Argos next to McDonalds on bank hey st, its on Albert Road. Not open yet i dont think

Thanks Jack. It’s probably down to the DJI Osmo Pocket camera that I use for most of my videos. It is very small & east to hold whilst cycling.
