I just came back from Portugal: food and wine tour. I took 8 travelers and we unite with another 8 travelers there. I can tell you that everything went great.! No delates on the planes, no suitcases lost, and excellent weather. We enjoy the countryside every day. Wonderful small towns, with great wine tasting and 4-5 course meals. The TD Jose T. was excellent too. The airplanes companies getting better. Two of my travelers were confused about what the insurances cover and what not. All together, the tour and Portugal exceeded my expectations! I am ready to book my next trip. ;)

I was wondering if you ever felt the pace of the touring was too fast. And, also, do you think it would be better to book a singles tour instead of the group tour to keep from paying the extra cost. And, have you taken anymore trips?
Hello & thank you! If you do decide to book, I'd really appreciate it if you use my referral link in the description. To answer your questions (1) I never felt the pace of the actual tours was too fast but the days are long if you want to take advantage of all the opportunities to explore. Since most tours are in the morning if you feel you didn't get enough, you can go back on your own during the scheduled free time. (2) I don't think the solely singles tours existed when I traveled with them but it's a pleasant addition and I would def try it. It'll probably be easier to make friends. (3) The pandemic def paused my big international travel. But this past May I decided I wanted to go to Greece. I did contact Go Ahead and strongly considered going with them but ended up planning the trip myself (there's videos on my page explaining my reasoning). I do plan on scheduling another trip with them soon to somewhere in Asia, most likely Japan or Thailand. Don't forget to like, follow, & subscribe!

I did have them handle my flights and didn’t have any problems. I think I cover the age demographics of my group in my other video on Go Ahead Tours. As far as ethnicity it wasn’t very diverse.

When you have alone time like lunch did u feel u would get lost and after lunch where did u meet back with the group? I’m scared to get lost 😂😂😂 during my free time.
😂 I know exaaactly what you mean. I tagged along with other people during alone time because I’m “directionally challenged” as they say. 😂 But they give you a meeting spot and time and I would take a photo of that spot and set an alarm so worst case scenario I would show someone the picture and get help. Also, the group & your leader (can’t remember the name right now) won’t just leave you. You’ll also be given contact information.
Lol good to know. Did people around your age range were they part of the group. Because im in my 30s and i don’t mind but rather not be the only young one. Then the rest are seniors lol.

It varies but pretty early so that you can make the most out of the day. For example, on various days we left the hotel at 7:45am, 8:45am, 9:15am. I did oversleep one day and once I woke up, my tour director got me a taxi from the hotel to where the rest of the group was located. Also, you're free to do your own thing and not go with the group too. It's flexible. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Great questions! I forgot to mention this. I went with some of the other travelers to exchange currency during our free time. I'm sure your Tour Director would be willing to help. I only exchanged a small amount of money and didn't enjoy the high fees so decided to use my bank card for the rest of the trip. (It was a better deal). For future trips, I will probably continue to use my bank card wherever it's accepted and exchange my money before going on the trip with my local bank. Also, there is someone waiting for you inside the airport who will drop you off at the hotel with the rest of the group.

I'm taking a solo trip to Costa Rica with Go Ahead Tours in March. Maybe we'll be in the same group.
Did you have issues switching currencies? Do you do it as a group? Also is there someone to pick you up from airport when you arrive?
