What I learned through the years is that you can't go wrong with Fuji: no matter if it's a X-E4, a X-T30 an X-T5, or some other model, you will always be satisfied with the color science, and this is very fascinating
I bought a Sony A7Cii, I have an X-T3. I sent it back due to the colours (or lack of in camera options). I went with a X-E4, love the style (Leica), and I but the handgrip when I use the 70-300. Perfect, I always shoot auto-iso... so perfect for me. Ideally if the ss dial could be the min-shutter speed, this body would be perfect.
I finally found a X-E4 across the country after looking for one for about 1,5 year, paid a bit of money without being able to test it and boy I don't regret that leap of faith at all!
Decided to part with mine... I'm keeping my x100v for the fuji fix but I traded in my xe4 and 3 lenses for the sony A7cii purely for the hybrid value and autofocus ability. Not disappointed I may add !!😊
I bought this camera in 2022 as my first camera with 27mm WR set. I dont know about camera that much at those time, I just want to buy a camera to take proper pictures for everyday and traveling rather than using smartphone. I feel so lucky to chose fujifilm because other brands dont have Ss dial or aperture dial, and the jpegs from other brands not good. Now I always bring this camera everywhere I go except when taking a shower.
Totally agree. I used many camera brands before, and only Fuji is a total joy to use. I have a X-E3, and I love Fuji's small factor (small camera body and small lenses).
I almost got the X-E4 last week but i opted for the X-E2 because i found out that most people prefer not to swipe like on the X-E3 and X-E4. The X-E2 has up to 7 fn buttons that you can assign to your favorite settings. That combined with a more accuratce color profile. The X-E1 has the most accurate colors of any generation sensor ever created from fuji. I opted for slightly better performance for a slight color profile difference so the X-E2 was the i chose ultimately. I wish it had focus stacking is aboit the only thing i could ask for.
Just the colors alone compel me to Fuji. I don't like editing photos so their JPEGs seem like a sure fire way for street photography without the pain of editing.

The xe4 is my baby! I’m so sad that it’s been discontinued after I recommended it to so many people. But here’s to hope that the XE5 will be a good one! 🍊
The X-E line is my favourite amongst Fuji's for compact street carry but I haven't gone for the X-E4 purely because I don't think it offers enough extra for its pricing. To put it in context I have an X-E1, 3*X-E2 ( my personal favourite ) & X-E3 that all together cost me the same as the GBP 799 shop retail price of the X-E4.
I had X-E1 and X-E2 and X-E4 is by far my favorite, sensor is beast and love minimalist look with all new simulations and settings for editing simulations. 👍🏼
I miss my X-E4 a lot. I might make a video soon on my experience with the camera and why I regret selling it. A nice one is around £1k in the Uk now without the 27mm lens. Madness!
I appreciate the review and a big fan of the XE4. Can I ask which lens you have mounted on it at: 3:49 time stamp? I currently have the Fuji 27mm f2.8 but looking into other options, incl. 3rd party lenses. Curious to know which you have and your thoughts on its performance. Thx - Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed the video! That lens is the ttartisans 35mm f1.4 for Leica M mount. Great lens, I love using that one and the 7artisans 35mm f2 for Leica M mount if I want a smaller package
I love my classic silver X-E4 with my collection of small primes - glad I got one for Australian $1,050.00 a year ago. I've got a collection of older Fuji classic cameras and use X-H and X-T systems to run my scientific and technical imaging business but there is ONE CAMERA I WOULD KILL FOR: A Fujifilm 'X100VI' with the 40MP X-Trans sensor, IBIS, X-T style screen movements and an 18mm f/2 fixed lens (28mm equivalent) with macro and digital cropping with optical viewfinder frames for 35mm and 50mm. In short a 'Leica Q2 killer'! How about it Fuji?
I got my first fuji in over 30 years in November and I am still getting used to it. I bought a used XE4 and now they are hard to get as well (someone said they were discontinued). I discarded the idea of 100v because I found that I do like to shoot at 55mm more often. I eliminated the T30 because it did not fit as easily in my pocket. I hate that joy stick.
Yep, you are right. Here in Australia we have sellers offering used X-Pro 3 for $2000 & $2800 and even $3000. Crazy, because you can buy new here from a camera store for $2300 NEW. This is just GREEDY PEOPLE trying to exploit the current situation. I would say due to the camera shortage, fuji will soon be releasing the X-Pro4. (I Hope)
i got lucky and found someone that sold me an x-pro3 with the 23mm f2 lens for 1700. sold my x100v (for retail) because i preferred different focal lenghts.
If you can get ahold of a new XE4 at MSRP it's a great camera. As soon as you have to start paying more than MSRP, I think I would start thinking about other manufactures.
True, the X-E4 is fun to use, albeit a bit limited… Single command-dial only, no IBIS … those are the main items left out… Fuji - are you listening for requests? The X-H2S is far superior, which at 3x the price it should be ;) and the H2S is also fun to shoot ;)
IBIS doesn't fit in the X-E body, same for the X100 body. Fuji stated that they reduced the number of dials to make it less scary to smartphone users. The X-E4 is clearly not aimed at you.
EyE lucked out as far as expense goes. As an old school shooter who could care less about video or action photography, while my favorite sensor is the Trans2, the “advances” of the newer version wouldn’t be an advantage for me. That being the case, I shoot with an X-E 2 and an X-T1, my sweet spots, both mint condition low shutter actuation bodies together setting me back around $700. Not everyone wants or needs the latest.
I do have and use one newer Fujifilm body, tho, for inclement weather (somewhat weather resistant body & lens combo), Acros simulation, and dual slots for important can’t miss events. Also, I have an older Sony A7II in order to put my vintage glass to the task for which they were born. Pity Fuji doesn’t make a full frame, but I find uses for them on both systems.
Ok help me out here, how to get the film simulation working? I got my first ever Fujifilm camera (X-T5) and in settings I selected "Astia" but when I transfer the jpegs to my computer I don't see any "styles" applied on them.
