I was so close to including effects like that but ended up cutting them for pathbreaker ibex and more protection.
@decktechsfordecks I Would Highly Find A Space Or Two. I Had Cut A Basic (I Prefer Playing At 35 Lands) And Kutzil (Isnt Available On Forge Yet.) And Anytime I Pulled Them It Was A Insane Power Boost
If there were more hydras in the deck I would add the new polkranos to it as well
This card goes straight into my Arahbo deck, as will Kutzil. Slamdunk synergies for sure!

Ive been playing this commander as an anthem tribal deck and its been awesome. Its pretty resistant to wipes too because a lot of the inital power comes from the anthem effects.
That does seem like a solid route maybe a bit slower but definitely has some resilience built in!

Colonial Hydra is such a fitting mispronunciation since we’re on Ixalan with the vampire conquistadors.
Built this deck also traverse the outlands and last March of the ents is beyond crazy in the deck
Okay, this is straight up insane! I’m not an expert in MTG power levels, but this seems like something unfairly strong for a casual table.

@@damo9961 Doesn't draw cards OR make mana AND is limited to combat speed (and Sovereign Okinec in particular being able to attack) in a color combo that doesn't have access to extra combats.
Fun certainly.
But not even vaguely in the ballpark of 'busted' or 'insane'.
Reconnaisance and maze of ith are great for attacking, getting the trigger, and saving your commander.

Why is no one mentioning this with Bright Palm? I’ve already been doubling counters, but with Red.
Now try out Marath, Will of the Wild. I turned my Bright-Palm Precon into that!
Can you use Bounty of might as a combat trick in this deck? Like they decide not to block your commander and in response you give it plus +18 for the oneshot? Or because the commander uses an attack trigger would we have to declare this prior to combat in order to get the +18?
The answer is yes and no. If our commander already has counters on it and just needs 9 more power then yes. If we need all 18 power to get our commander to 21 power then no.
What would be the first things you would cut for doubling season/hardened scales/ parallel lives, or would those cards be too slow
Only the "counter" half of doubling season synergies well with this deck and for CMC of 5 its slow, Parallel lives is bad in this deck. it doesnt use token based abilities. Hardened Scales is perfect for this deck and its just 1 mana.
Avacyn, Angel of Hope, while a high mana costs, would really smash in this deck, plus she is a 8/8 flyer. Hammer of Nazahn would be good for the commander as well.
I thought this would work great with cards the new Bedrock tortoise but does not work because language says "assigns damage" so the actual power of the creature never changes, but could have been awesome .
Walking balista and hangar back walker insane as well

3:08 I think you got the power of kalonian hydra wrong the turn it attacks. It has 12 +1/+1 counters on it and is therefore a 24/24. Put okinecs trigger first and the hydras trigger second on the stack. Hydra resolves, it gets 12 +1/+1 counters and now has 48/48. Okinecs trigger resolves, it gets 48 +1/+1 counters. Now it has 72 +1/+1 counters, resulting in a total power of 144.
I get 144 as well
I’m planning on making this deck using all the lost and forgotten “when this card etb, creatures you control get +X/+X”.

Seems quite busted.. I was thinking of adding him and Kutzil in Gylwain actually.. But do think that he might be more powerful at the helm with this kind of strategy.
Just have enjoyed Gylwain so much, I am still thinking of upgrading the deck.. Still have no Bennie Bracks nor Esper Sentinel in my version. So many great options for a deck like that though.. :D

Hamza is great in this too. But I think the kitty cat is way more explosive.

- Anthem spells: Triumph of Hordes, Overrun, Vitalizing Wind, Overwhelming Stampede, For the Emperor!
- For giggles try Awakening the Vitu-Ghazi on a creatureland
- Anthem creatures: Elesh Norn Grand Cenobite, Thuderfoot Baloth, Wild Beastmaster, Loyal Guardian, End-Raze Forerunners, Victory Envoy
- Single creature pumps: Orzhov Advokist, Court of Garenbrig, Spellbook Vendor, Luminarch Aspirant, Evolutionary Escalation
- Auras: Rancor, Angelic Destiny
- Other creatures: Managorger Hydra, Heroes Bane, Triskelion/Walking Ballista (+ Heliod Sun crown for infinite win combo, can also add Basilisk collar for Timmy Deathtouch), Phantom Nantuko, Phantom Nishoba, Undergrowth Champion, Lifeblood Hydra, Cytoplast Root-Kin, Evolution Sage, Pride Sovereign, Regal Caracal, Zopandrel Hunger Dominus
- Boardwipe: Sunwipe

Right it’s definitely a fun one to pilot! There’s some absurd boardstates we can create for sure!
Also look for things that massively only pump power cause okinec only cares about difference in power
Pretty funny that if you make your creatures too big you can't cast Rishkarr's or you'll deck yourself

@@decktechsfordecksgot a massive update for you on this deck! Tried it for the first time last night and I was able to get a Gyre Sage out almost immediately, and Branching Evolution soon after. Along with SOA and a Pathbreaker Ibex out, things got fun fast. And then I had a 32/32 Steelbane come out, swung for an allotted 124 damage with trample and my buddy could only block for 11.
Hopefully that made sense but point is, things went nuts lol

That could definitely be a solid include. I just favor heroic intervention for the added indestructible.
Just a reminder goldfishing really only shows you starting hand mulligans and first two or three turns anything after that its useless because ther isn't any other players to interact with your board. Decks seem good and powerful when you dont have opposition
I’ve found it’s a very useful tool. If you can goldfish a turn 7 win you’ll be probably be closer to a turn 10 average with opponents. It’s also super useful to newer player to see how the deck should function 😁
@@decktechsfordecks I agree it's useful but I keep running into new players at my legs saying they have really powerful decks they gold fish only to find out it doesn't perform as well with resistance that's why I suggested them to use it for starting hands mulligans and the first few turns or to flip a coin for opponent actions like boardwipes or stronger creatures on board etc
