I work at ASICS and the big difference between the two sneakers is the Kayanos are a structured sneaker for pronators so that extra metallic overlays is supposed to hug your foot and give you extra support while the 1130 is basic neutral sneaker it still has a bit of support but it is overall a lightweight trainer of course these are lifestyle sneakers but that's what mainly separates the two in terms of pricing both styles are still great as always 👍

Never tried a Nimbus 25. 😕
@caclavijo You can go for the same size but keep in mind the Nimbus 25 is a runner and is going to have a more snug fit compared to the sportstyle Kayano 14 which is going to have a bit more width in the toe box. So if you already own a pair of asics, I'd go for the same size you currently have on your nimbus.

What i think i love most about the Kayano 14 gel, is the Ratio of Low Profile, light weight, stability and comfort, that i get from these over my 10 other pair of running shoes, Put in 1,200 miles on them, to help me lose 93 pounds in 10 months, they are finally wearing the sole down, so i finally put on a layer of shoe goo, to help me get a few more hundred miles of hiking, so i dont feel the sharp jagged rocks on the mountain.
Living in Tokyo I felt I needed more Asics in my collection. I like the fit of the 1130 better. My Kayano 14 is all leather and nice quality. My 1130s are REs and very good materials as well

Great video! I just got my kith Kayano colorway and I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality. I was expecting them to feel like the NB 860v2 but they feel much better quality wise imo ...I got emailed the plum restocked on Asics at 5am this morning and missed it 😞...Now that you have this plum colorway with the cream laces I think you should try the kith colorway with green rope laces since they are so similar with the cream laces.
Agree, that way the Kith can stand out.
Asics has been on 🔥🔥🔥 the last three years or so. It's great to see them getting recognition now.

I love the kayano 14 but the resell prices for them are crazy atm 😭 ended up copping the gel 1130 clay cannon
Just got the gel-1130 today. Man they are very soft comfortable. Not only that, but they look very fashionable on feet. For that price, everyone should get ‘em.

great video as always! i prefer the 1130 over the kayanos as i much prefer a lighter weight and low-profile sneaker. sometimes the kayanos feel a little bit too much for me w/ the extra metallic overlays

I just copped my first pair of ASICS the 1130 cream/iron clad. Just a clean color way super affordable and comfortable. I’m a believer now .

I have heard that for Gel 1130, the part right next to your pinky toe gets torn so easily that the shoe becomes useless. Has anyone experienced that so far?
comparing between these two, I would go for 1130 as I love the cleaner look and lightweight which is the factor for all day wearing for me

I have a few 14s but ultimately I prefer the 1130. It’s a tough choice. The 14 is more premium maybe, but I like the toned down design of the 1130.

Yeah that GT 2160 looks cool as well. I like the GR with the gold hits. X-Men collab, I’m a fan of Gambit so that would be my first choice, then Cyclops, Wolverine.

Which one is lighter for running?
1130 was more comfortable for me. Kayano 14 was half size bigger (because that's what was available) and was uncomfortable. Maybe because it was not the right size. Love the 1130, never mind the premium materials (or not).
Which are better for fits
The kayano 14 cream/black/plum is my GR of the year (so far)

Got 1130s and been trying find my look in them as far as clothes
I think they’re very versatile. Can go with 90s slim jeans, sweats, cargo pants. I would even wear them with dickies too.
kayano has just a slightly more chunky hype dad shoe feel than the 1130 which is more bare. same comparison btwn the nb 2002r vs the 530.

Go with your normal size, I would probably suggest the 11.

I really like the Kayano 14s but resell is insane it’d cost me $220 including shipping and I have a beat up pair of NB 993s so idk if i should go with the kayano 14s or just get the same pair of 993s and trash my old ones

Not sure if one has more width than the other but the Gel-1130 upper is more flexible and less stiff.

1130 are way more comfortable but the keyano 14 are narrow.
Why do these shoes even have any sort of hype rn ?
It's just the Y2K era hype right now. Putting that aside, they are really comfortable and look good too, IMO.
