It's all about the sponsorships and influence, if one of the big names on UA-cam says something is good everyone gets in line. Same as the topic on your previous video, people buy gear just to have it not thinking if they actually need it, all just because the "influencer" said it is needed. Another example is the "carry rotation" where they carry guns for the pictures and to look cool, but not proficient with even 1 of those.
Hey Tony Harley here, no I do not blindly shill or goto bat for anyone. If something has a problem that is just the truth of the matter. I love some spyderco but had 2 brand new pm2s with lock stick, one pretty nasty and the other so so.
Absolutely. I’ve had my share of issues with them. I feel it’s best to be honest about the stuff we pay our hard earned money. No need to be so emotionally attached to stuff 🙌
People do this for corporations of all types of products. I’m coming from this with the point of view and saltiness of an almost 60 year old guy so please excuse my bluntness. People that “white knight” for especially large corporations and will defend them tooth and nail, I call them “badge whores”. A company could release a dog turd and do some slick marketing and call it the best sandwich spread on earth and the die hard fans that buy their products will swear to you it’s better than peanut butter. I think it’s because they want to feel accepted by a group of people for a sense of belonging and to validate their purchase. I am a huge fan of the Walther PDP. Great gun. But there are things I absolutely criticize about the gun and the company in general. And the other PDP fans shun me like I have leprosy. Oh well. I owe nobody anything. Especially when I lay my hard earned money. No no. They owe me. And companies that constantly listen to their customers to improve their products are the companies I buy from. Not the ones with the slickest marketing.
No pardon needed. You hit the nail on the head and believe me I’m sure I’ve been guilty of it and may be in the future. But when my hard earned money goes somewhere, I don’t want the bs, I expect what I paid for. I feel if we buy and use our product, we do them a disservice only glorifying the item and not being very critical.
@@KnifeNinjaEDC Yessir! The best way to insure that companies that make the products we buy continue to strive for not only an excellent product, but excellent customer service as well, is to not just praise them for anything they put out, but be critical on where we think they can improve. And as I said, companies and corporations that do that earn the money I spend for their goods and services. I’ve noticed over the past let’s say 10 to 15 years at companies have really been slacking off on their product development and especially customer service. But it has exponentially gotten worse post- Covid. Of course, talk up their companies when they deserve it. But don’t follow blindly. Critique them fairly when they need it. That is what drives healthy competition. It’s up to the consumer to do that. Good companies and corporations actually want that. Great talking with you. Really enjoy your videos. Just subbed.
