“Screw it, I will reverse engineer the reverse engineers”. This quote will live with me for life.
i read this quote as he said it. that was so satisfying
Apple also can't say he stole their IP since it was the reverse-engineered design he copied.
I love when a single person manages to make their idea possible against a big company that doesn't want to consider it.
People don’t seem to understand that companies like Apple are BUSINESSES! They are in the market to nickel and dime everyone so they could make money! Proprietary items generate money.
@@AnotherYoubue more of a security reason. alot of people dont know what they are talking about...also, apparently. the lightning port is more waterproof than the usb-c..besides, they are trying to remove the ports and buttons. why pay a licence that you wont even use...
@@fragment7 yeah all these android phones with no water resistance and security protections 😂😂😂
@@darkless60 😂😂😂😂😂
Nani!? They are considering it. Which is why 1/2 their portfolio is usb-c.
Looking forward to seeing more custom mods from you, this was insane 🙌🏼
Hey, you better get your soldering skills up to date 😂😂
lol
Truly this was insane
crunch !
Usb c on AirPods
I’m happy that you’re getting money by selling it on ebay! A well deserved monetary reward for the amount of work put in
I want to ask, is it possible to increase the space between the iPhone motherboard and systems to the screen to allow an usb c port to properly fit?
ua-cam.com/video/FZZIKbidMI0/v-deo.html repeating someone else's work a year later and claiming to be the first... pretty low actually.
as an engineering student, massive massive respect and this is truely fascinating
Came here to comment the exact same sentence
As a medical student, still truly fascinating
As a guy that lives in his mom's basement this is extremists fascinating
same as an computer engineer graduating next month, this is a marvel.
As a NASA engineer, this is astonishing
The next project must be turning the lightning ports on Airpods & Airpods Pro into USB-C!
disassembling and reassembling those is already a project in itself XD
@@Jbrimbelibap This haha
Imagine giving the Apple Watch USB C!
@@HarrisonBorbarrison ive used watches with usb ports and it is not a good experience
@@HarrisonBorbarrison actually you can do that there's secret port(pins) under the bottom strap.
Apple: USB-C iPhone??? No! Can’t be done! Stifles innovation!
Kenny Pi: Hold my Swiss Chocolate.
Incredibly well done project. Everything from the phone to this video itself, incredibly well made. Great job
bro your next project will be fighting off a cease and desist letter
hi
@Laura Brown no
Mad apple noises for someone making an innovated project on their phones and jealous because they haven't thought of the idea/too lazy to do it and someone beat them to it
@@bIehhh the only reason apple don’t use a usb connector in the iPhone is that lightning generate a lot of royalties for then. Anyone that wants to make a iPhone accessory needs to pay Apple to use lightning. It’s not that they don’t think of that or laziness it’s much more simple: money.
@@bIehhh nah lol. it’s the money for their chargers.
Man this is just genius, next level!!!
MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT UR OPINION ABOUT IT
This man came from heaven
Al tío TP le gusta la lechuga
I'm still trying to figure out what he did, exactly
hahahah idiottt
gg mec j'adore le fait que tu es passé du temps a tout documenté sur la parti lightning qui ne l'était pas du tout avant ton arrivé merci à toi

Imagine apple releases iPhone 14 with type-c, they will have to announce *Worlds second Iphone with USB Type-C* 😂
Edit: Apple needed two years to do it Lmao
😂
Lmao
They will still claim they were the first though
@@ihatehandles3 oh yeah, like they are the first to have 120hz display

I was waiting for Strange Parts to do this, but you sir have now gained a subscriber
This is next level nerdy stuff and I am here for it🤓 Great video man...... really fascinating!👏 keep doing the great work really appreciate it ❤️
You Are looking a master at the work
What?
why does this have so many likes, it doesn’t even make sense
@@FragTix sense
@@FragTix Get the feeling.
@@FragTix it does. He's literally a masters student.
Strange Parts needs to see this
He’s not that smart as this guy is…that’s why he gaved up on that video🤭
I'm sure he will when he recovers from his concussion. people have followed it on his discord server for a while...
@@SinnerDeveloper he didn't give up, he's just got concussed, and hasn't managed to make a start
Judging by what he’s already done it won’t a surprise if he succeeds
@@3dprintergobrr he made his usb c video two years ago. He's definitely given up on the project. There is a clear difference between a hobbyist (strange parts) and Kenny, who studies and seeks to understand even the minute details of silicon.
Happy to see and greetings from Bali 👏🏼
Gratuliere zu deinem Projekt.
This is the most impressive thing on the internet that has ever been done. The entire world deserves to see this marvel of engineering that a trillion+ dollar company wouldn't do. MAJOR props to Kenny Pi.
For real man
Tim Cook would like to have a word with you, Mister! 😂
Seriously the most impressive thing on the internet. Incredible work man.
You need to calm down lol.
@@artenman 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫
The fact that you are so talented and willing to share this completely with the community says a lot about you. Thank you so much!
Gotta give respect to the French.
Open Source is a beautiful concept and it destroys the dichotomy of innovation and profit that we are being taught. Big Respect for Kenny
Amazing video. You put all your effect to make this happen. It’s incredible 👍
You’re such a mad lad my guy! Absolutely love it! I subbed since you deserve it!

Fantastic video. I'm blown away by the effort and insight into a complicated process.
Very impressed with how clean it turned out. I expected a reasonable amount of jank, but you knocked it out of the park.
Interviewer: So what's your experience
Kenny: Uh...
*grabs his iPhone...*
Lol that’s smart tho cuz there ain’t no iPhone that uses USB C so it’s believable
Man, you literally just studied the whole thing, learned every single bit of it and engineered it all by yourself.
That's what I call a legend!
Congrats, you are an extreme good engineer w/ astonishing skills in both Project Management and Engineering.
this is absolutely insane!! your skills are out of this world. wow 🔥
History has been made in one video.
indeed
When apple finally put a usb c port on an iPhone, they won't be able to claim that it's the "first ever iPhone with a usb c port" because some guy on UA-cam beat them to it. But I guess the apple slogan "think different." applies to Tim Cook's perception of "first"
@Laura Brown I like how my room is now, no thanks
@@AlzhaKya “The first iPhone with USB C” has now turned into “the first time *we* put USB C on an iPhone to date” probably, maybe :p

Amazing I was here before the 1 million view count! Truly inspirational, great job! All the best and keep those projects going
As a software engineer by profession, I'm stunned at the level of skill and knowledge involved in this. Kudos to you Kenny.
Is all the thing he’s doing consider a software engineer? Is that what they do?
@@nxet2669 no, in fact nothing he's doing would have anything really to do with software engineering. The fact that I brought up my profession is to say that as someone who has to solve complex problems on a daily basis, I am really impressed at how he tackled this problem.
@@Ryan-nq3qp oh what engineer degree it takes to go that?
@@nxet2669 I don't think there is any particular degree that you can get that will set you up to be able to do this. However to understand basics, I reckon electrical engineering would be a good place to start .
@@Ryan-nq3qp i thought mechatronic would handle something like that
This video is a blast. I really hyped for your next project !
Very fun video to watch! curious to see what else 🍎 projects you tackle next Kenny!
Wow! Awesome work man! I’m really impressed! 😃👍🏻
You should do some kinds of collab with Strange Parts. He's already legend when it comes to iPhone mods and I hope you'll be one someday.
As an Electrical engineer myself, I fully understand how tedious your work was, but it came out as a huge success. Good luck on you next project mate!
I can’t wait to see a collab making a usbc iPhone with a headphone jack
@@myrealusername2193 dont think there is enough space for both chips. only if they make one that holds both
@Mind Of Virtuoso well if he does it on an iPhone 6s (which has a lot of space inside of it) he’ll have one that is still receiving software updates as well. And he’ll only need one chip.
@@myrealusername2193 but ani iphone 6 already has a headphone jack. i meant if you wanna add a 3rd party headphone jack and usbc port would be hard
