The true meaning of No More Heroes 3 is Suda and his team at Grasshopper Manufacture shaking us by the shoulders and screaming "WATCH EVERY MIIKE MOVIE EVER MADE""
Easily one of the best and chill segments of the whole game. Plus it's fun seeing these characters, including Bad Girl and Shinobu, talk about stuff they love in a chill environment.
They sound so passionate and like they really know what they're talking about, I dig it. Everyone in this world seems to have some kind of encyclopedic pop culture knowledge, it starts to make think it's some kind of Quinton Tarantino-esque AU (on top of being a world with aliens/ghosts/etc). And I gotta say, I'm sure Miike loves all the free publicity this series has given him.
Zebraman is my favorite! Miike really understands the 70s Tokusatsu era! If you were or are a fan of power rangers or kamen rider, Zebraman is phenomenal!
I may not know of the movies they talk about here but something about how they get into the conversations along with other characters popping in at times just makes for nice chill scenes and gets my curiosity a bit on the Miike films
I know Suda is a game developer at his heart but I would watch the shit out of any anime he decided to produce. Especially if it took place in the NMH universe.
Even after playing through NMH1 and getting to 2, I didn't really care all that much about Bishop's Death But DAMN, man. Replaying through the series again after enjoying these Podcasts really made me choke up when they killed him in 2
4:45 had me thinking of transformers and then they straight up went there 🤣 the fanbase devolved so much cause of all the gaslighting, g1 stans are the literal worst, they act like tf didn’t get 3 different reboots right after the original ended smh
Though it fits with transformers as well, they are talking about the Manga and anime "Terraformars". Great series about humans trying to survive on mars while being hunted by a evolved humanoid cockroaches. Takeshi Miike directed the film adaption, and I'm pretty sure it got less than stellar reviews compared to his other adaptions like Ninja Kids or Like a Dragon.

pretty much yup
yep
And it worked lol well on me it did.😂.
Well not a lot of them are publicly available

I like how Suda just went “let’s make a game about an assassin that learns about the power of friendship”
literally the plot of the entire trilogy

I could listen to Travis and Bishop talk for hours. I love their chemistry and they're absolutely right about Gozu being Miike's best film.
Because of these i went down a Miike rabbit hole
He's real?!?
@@Timic83tc yes he's a real director and all these stuff Travis and Bishop are talking about are real things
@@ChamarM especially Visitor Q. That one's so... deep, just google it
@@Timic83tc Not only is Miike real, they got him to voice his own cameo in No More Heroes 2. (In this game, they just got one of the cast to do it.)

These cutscenes actually made me hunt down Miike movies. Blade of the Immortal is Definitely worth a watch, subbed & dubbed.
Same. I also saw some Visitor Q and I cannot reverse that
I love how Suda wears his influences so broadly for everyone to see, it really shows his passion for entertainment and art all together
Travis and bishop talking about Miike is like us No More Heroes/ Kill the past fans talking about Suda51!
I may not know of the movies they talk about here but something about how they get into the conversations along with other characters popping in at times just makes for nice chill scenes and gets my curiosity a bit on the Miike films
I love how Travis only says Audition is the most fucked up Miike film because he hasn't seen Visitor Q lol
Charlotte's voice so cute no one talks like that but it fits
I know Suda is a game developer at his heart but I would watch the shit out of any anime he decided to produce. Especially if it took place in the NMH universe.
these scenes are chill asf
hell yeah
9:08 so Charlotte is into mature mecha anime
something tells me suda51 *really* likes Miike, but I can’t put my finger on it
9:07
>Soukou Kihei *Votoms* (Armored trooper Votoms)
>Taiyou no kiba *Dougram* (Fang of the sun Dougram)
From Ryousuke Takahashi
Never thought I'd see Miracle Tunes referenced in anything ever.
Even after playing through NMH1 and getting to 2, I didn't really care all that much about Bishop's Death

Same
Worth noting, the Bishop in NMH3 is the younger brother of Bishop Shedux of 1 and 2.
These scenes are amazing and everything that there saying are real anime and Japanese movies.
thats what puts them over the top.
EXCEPT Bizaare Jelly. But yes.
No More Heores fans must watch Ichi the Killer, which was like full prototype for No More Heroes.
is that by Miike?
@@owlitup2225 yup, Kakihara is one of characters, they were watching it.

Mi ike? Whos that
One of the most badass Japanese directors you'll ever meet
he made more movies than anyone in history
