The late John Neal was a great manager for Wrexham and later went on to manage Middlesbrough and Chelsea with Success. He was also a decent bloke. I did a days work experience at the Wrexham ground and had crossed his path a few times. He gave me the time of day and spoke with me on equal terms, which for a 14 year old in those days, was quite something! Great years for Wrexham Football Club. Hopefully they are returning!
John Neal was a top manager at Chelsea. Built a new team on a budget. Never made a bad buy. Bought Kerry Dixon , Pat Nevin , Nigel Spackman , Joe McLaughlin , Eddie Niedzwiecki and Mickey Thomas. All respect to John Neal. Managed Middlesbrough when they always sold their best players , so no wonder he moved onto manage Chelsea.
My first match at the Racecourse was in the mid 60's when they beat newly promoted Hereford 5-0. Very fond and sad memories of the cups and promotion, working behind the Centenary Bar for Ray was a very, very special time for me, in the days when the players would also join in with you. How times and fortunes have changed.
C'était l'époque du grand anderlecht des années 70, mais ils ont eu des difficultés à battre cette équipe de wrexham fc et qui aujourd'hui évolue en D5.
