That business of sending Lock Heed Martin to build a fleet of 50 Ospreys for the USA is not as expensive as they see it for the allies, the F-35 costs the USA 5.million, but they sell each one for 1.million 3:21
For those that dont know - there are actually *THREE* variants of the V-22 Osprey. The MV-22 used by the US Marines. The CV-22 used by the USAF Special Operations (replaced the MH-53) And the CMV-22 used by the US Navy as a COD (Carrier onboard delivery)
👍 That's really cool to hear about your experience working on the prototype tilt rotor actuators for the V22! It's amazing how much precision and calculation is required to produce complex geometry, especially without the help of modern software like Mastercam. Your mastery of trigonometry during calculus classes definitely paid off! And it's great to see the V22 being adopted by other countries like Japan, showcasing the innovative technology that the United States has developed. Thanks for sharing your story!
Enjoy the V22's. I enjoyed making the smaller prototype tilt rotor actuators out of aluminum in california and was transferred to park city utah to manufacture the first units for flight out of titanium pancake forgings on a small maho mill.....I thank my parents for allowing me to attend college where I mastered trigonometry during my year of calculus classes. This was done long before mastercam became available so producing complex geometry required real math. : )
I am surprised that Japan still operates the AH-1 attack helicopter (5:10). That was released in 1967, during the Vietnam war. While it is particularly sleek and has a super thin profile (about 3 feet) The video switched from anything related to Japan at 10:28, when it showed the Gripen. The footage that follows is likely from the 'Red Flag' exercise held near Las Vegas.
only expert can suggest us but i think so India also need this for domestics use of transportation for public to the hill area like Sikkim or Arunachal pradesh, Twang, Ladakh etc. i our India will definitely get it Indigenously
I don't understand the podcaster's message on US Super Advanced Transformers Plane"V-22 Osprey - were they donated to Japan or Japan is going to be billed the cost?

Hello from Australia. I am jealous, we don't have the OSPREY. Although during joint naval games we host American OSPREY on the decks of our Canberra class amphibious assault ships.
Katanya teknologi Amerika sudah kalah dari teknologi cina tapi Mengapa negara maju seperti Jepang masih membeli Helikopter tempur dari Amerika?, berarti teknologi Amerika masih diakui dunia❤❤❤
Wonderful 😂 The Almighty Creator has kindly created this world for His people but unfortunately the people are creating weapons everyday to destroy the same😂
The idea of tilt rotor aircraft is a viable one. However this one has a checkered history of crashes. The US Coast Guard is supposed to get a completely new design tilt rotor soon to test before it goes widespread to other services. Scary we get to be the guinea pigs. But this should give them a real shake down real world test
The V-22 has been used by US Marines & Air-Force for several years now. In real world situations both in Combat and in Humanitarian relief efforts. Pretty much in every corner of the Global for the last 15 years. The US Navy has also gotten a new longer range version. And now Japan will. The shake down in flight operations has happened already.
@@stever8776 "Yet they still crash."(sic) As does the H-60: 400+ hull losses and 1000+ fatalities. That's a checkered history that many - like you - willfully ignore.
This is gonna be extremely dangerous vehicle to fly. There’s too many electronics and too many things go wrong will bring you straight to the ground at any given moment. Bad idea.
I know nothing about Areonautics probably spelled it wrong but this osprey thing has been crashing and killing marines since I was in my 20s I'm much older now my bro was in the navy back In early 90s at Patuxent River Naval Airbase in Maryland and one crashed while I visited my bro and I remember a few crashes prior killing personnel of course I think it's just bad in the sky and hard to fly it's not made right

we had to crewchange offshore somewhere else after a hurricane and I saw a bunch of these getting prepped to ship over to Japan
The new tilt rotor is great but the DefiantX is so much better!
The Osprey must be flown by computers to be airworthy.
Nice information thanks. KHB Lahore
I dunno they have to do all this so slow and carefully, what happens if we are at war or things have to be done quickly?

You'd want the Bell 360 much more then the Osprey. Trust me. Look it up.

Why japa didn't build its own super advance aircraft...
Because it is occupied by America
My laptop has an Airplane mode too but it does not flaps itself to fly in the sky :(

China doesn't have their own technology, they steal it from everyone else.
Toi tu comprends rien
karna amerika sekutu jepang...sedang china notabene nya "musuh" jepang
American ahead in most of the technology then Japan follow by south Korea Germany then china
