It's frontside.... Just because he has to almost do a back 180 doesnt mean its backside. The front of your body faces the ledge which means it's frontside. If it was backside, his back would be against the ledge and he would almost have to do a frontside 180.
such a solid trick into any bank to ledge....or bank gap to hubba. Just eyeball that landing/lock in zone like a hawk...and get the speed/pop dialed for the bank/gap to ledge....and just FLY nose deep/baseplate right into a ledge mid air...i love any park with a gap/funbox hip to ledge setup. or any small stair set like a 2-4 with a flat manny pad/ledge....and you can FS nose up the ledge/stairs.
haterskeephatin101 ledge is on the frontside of his body. frontside flip your front is forward. pause a frontside 180 halfway and your front is forward. not that hard dude
I totally agree, it is frustrating to see heads chopped off, but in many cases, it's better to get the action instead of the face going along with it. If you watch P-Rod's "Me, Myself and I" There are a lot of moments when filming lines when the top half of P-Rod's Torso is totally chopped off for the entirety of a trick. In videos like this though, there isn't really an excuse... it's one trick. No reason why they shouldn't get the whole skater in. I agree that the filming is kind of shoddy.
im just saying with a fisheye lens, even if you're not the best filmer its not hard to get a full body shot, and when he was talking about turning your shoulders while doing the trick, itd be nice to see how he turns his shoulders, yes i know its obvious but it still helps with learning the trick for beginners
I always thought this was backside because it's going the same direction as a backside 180. And that's what we always called it back in the day but I can see the reasoning. Facing from the front. Before the internet names of tricks were somewhat confusing. Also the evolution of skateboarding, some names have changed.
I’m fat and old now. So when I decided to get back into skating, I was naturally drawn to the slappy/curb side of things. I had never even tried frontside noseslide b/s 270 out when I was younger, but goddamn if they didn’t come as easy as pie to me on the curbs. All about pivoting around on that back truck. Feels so good.
Yea this was one of my tricks I had so consistent when I was 14. After that I stopped skating ledges as much, only stairs and manuals for years. Now I’m getting back in to ledges and rails, and this trick is way harder than I remember lol.
I'm pretty sure that not just one filmer shoots all of these videos. There have been Trick-A-Days shot all over the US, it would be kind of hard for one guy to travel to a different city every day to shoot a different trick tip. I'm pretty sure that someone affiliated with RIDEchannel just contacts filmers and skaters and has them film a trick for the segment.
nothing like blasting these and hearing the indy baseplate grind against the ledge...and flying/popping out all G not even looking foreward/at anything....or to fakie just looking at your feet...pretending youre HK. This is one of those tricks that are pretty simple once you get them...but feel like a G doing them. Just get youre FS boardslides DOWN and on lock doing them fast...and this trick is a breeze. Then you can practice some nollie to front boards on a smaller ledge/flat bar....and take that training into doing nollie fs noses too and nollie fs nose grinds.
I'm getting it but I'm only grinding like a foot. When I go faster to grind longer I keep flying off and kicking the board out. Or I'd go to crook cuz my board distance with the ledge before popping a 90 is off :/ just need more practice then
I told my dad yesterday I had sex with my English teacher. He was super proud of me and congratulated me on having sex so early in life. He wanted to get me a bike, but "i said no dad my ass is killing me, could I just have something else instead". Everything got really awkward after that.
No, for most people, a backside nose slide would be easier, because then if the object is behind you, when you nose slide on it, you will be able to look the direction you're moving in. But with a frontside nose slide, you would think that it would be easier because the object is in front of you, but in reality, once you get on it, you'll be moving backward. It's a mental thing, if you can do one you theoretically can do the other but it will probably be twice as hard to learn.
itd be tight if fucking ride channel got a good filmer because even when hes using a fisheye he's still choppin heads, i mean you cant even see his shoulders
Yeah, But it's not a skate video... It's explaining a trick through a trick tip and watching a pro do it. Would you rather the filmer be far away so that you couldn't see his feet and the actual nose slide close enough to break it down?
I like that "stand on your toe" tip.
It solved my FS Noseslide problems.
dude same that legit was the best tip ive heard on these tricks
I think this is the key for me, Eva I slip out when leaning forward or don’t slide when I lean back. So I think it’s lean back while on toes 🤞
"I'm regular, so I look over my right shoulder." as he's looking over his left. Brilliant.
wrong it was the right
@@user-oj9cp4di7dno it wasnt

ya know the helps me understand a lot more tricks now thanks man from 6 years ago
Best tip is to keep your eyes focused at where you want you nose to hit the ledge and not your board
Solid tip, I’ll try tomorrow

i just land this trick today! wooo felt so good
Same
Bruuuh this guy is sooo chilled I love his way of like talking
It's really amusing the amount of people commenting "This is backside". It's really not 😂
some people though..
dude if this is frontside then andrew reynolds is the king of backside flips
its front side because the ledge is at the front of him, the ledge f/s b/s is completely different to 180's
haterskeephatin101 ledge is on the frontside of his body. frontside flip your front is forward. pause a frontside 180 halfway and your front is forward. not that hard dude
Lewis Gerry only if he was goofy foot👍
*left shoulder
I was originally trying a back 180 switch 5-0 today but locked into a front nose, now I got em clean every time
hahaha " ... just give a little *pause* ... F*cking scoooooop out" priceless advice , thanks father lol
Learned this one today!
that last noseslide fakie he did was so nice
Stuck in quarantine tryna learn new tricks thank you
I tought my self how to land this trick. It honestly feels satisfying to land it.

i comment on videos before i watch them :D
I have a problem with getting a clean pop into the nose slide. Instead, I kinda just ride into the nose stall with a slight slide.
Same
I do them slappy as well but works best for me tho
im just saying with a fisheye lens, even if you're not the best filmer its not hard to get a full body shot, and when he was talking about turning your shoulders while doing the trick, itd be nice to see how he turns his shoulders, yes i know its obvious but it still helps with learning the trick for beginners
I just learned fs nose slide 180 I'm hyped
Wtf is a frontside noselide 180? You mean f/s noseslide to fakie?
I always thought this was backside because it's going the same direction as a backside 180. And that's what we always called it back in the day but I can see the reasoning. Facing from the front. Pretty easy trick. Also if you tweak it just a bit youll got back 180 nosegrind to regular
it's a pretty good looking trick
always came out fakie and 270 out but just learned them regular out last month

It's sad when you have the trick down for a week then you lose it -_-
Yea this was one of my tricks I had so consistent when I was 14. After that I stopped skating ledges as much, only stairs and manuals for years. Now I’m getting back in to ledges and rails, and this trick is way harder than I remember lol.

Just fucking slide backwards and don't look at all. LMAO!
My favorite trick to do a ledge for sure
Where can i find the song? Superstitions
"Lot Lizard Blues" Not on Spotify and not on youtube
Stand on your toe... got it!
I love doing this trick, but never look over my shoulder haha
i wish lol i was tryin them this weekend cause im comin off a broken ankle 4 months ago and i still cant flck my foot right to flip my board again

well i'm not saying that all they're videos have bad filming, i just always notice when heads are chopped as a filmer myself
sick!
it is, cuz he is facing the grind, its not the same like a fronside flip or a backside flip, its if ur in front with or not ;B
I refuse to believe Matt Bennett isn’t just Stephen Malkmus with long hair
I'm getting it but I'm only grinding like a foot. When I go faster to grind longer I keep flying off and kicking the board out. Or I'd go to crook cuz my board distance with the ledge before popping a 90 is off :/ just need more practice then
Sliding you mean. Grinds are done on the trucks. Just fyi, take it or leave it.
sick.
Thanks...
pressure flip tutorial ?
and that's when your dad gave you a skateboard and you started skateboarding, right? haha
That Joke is hella old but Still a Classic :D
Every time I try this I stick and my nose doesn’t slide, same with pretty much every grind trick except for a 5050
my teacher told me that joke yesterday, hahah!
yeah but how do I not bail every ****ng time? =-D
how old are you and your teacher?
these are so sick and i almost have them. think the toe thing might help
you skate well. Your breakdown of the trick could use some work. Decent vid though
I told my dad yesterday I had sex with my English teacher. He was super proud of me and congratulated me on having sex so early in life. He wanted to get me a bike, but "i said no dad my ass is killing me, could I just have something else instead". Everything got really awkward after that.
These are pritty easy to learn if you got bs 180's on lock
You can.
is fronside nose easier than back?
No, for most people, a backside nose slide would be easier, because then if the object is behind you, when you nose slide on it, you will be able to look the direction you're moving in. the right shoulder on the perspective from us
haha i was not expecting that Lmao!
its frontside noseslide because he is facing the ledge, it'd be backside noseslide if his back was to the ledge
itd be tight if fucking ride channel got a good filmer because even when hes using a fisheye he's still choppin heads, i mean you cant even see his shoulders
sweet
I can't do backside slides on a skateboard. Only frontside lol same goes for flips.
right shoulder? really :D:D 1:50
you look over your left* shoulder xD
these are so hard to do.
should have demonstrate it FS and BS
I can land these nose slides sloppy all day, but I can never land them clean. Sooo frustrating
unfortunately,no
no back is way easier i think
soooo stoned!
pop out siallll
Do they really have to sensor these videos. What the fuck.
wait nvm 😂😂
i just love when people try to explain a trick but they suck at explaing tricks, he doesn't even do the trick as he explains it... 'thanks' anyway
I think most of us here can't front noseslide. It's a How-To video.
Yeah, But it's not a skate video... It's explaining a trick through a trick tip and watching a pro do it. Would you rather the filmer be far away so that you couldn't see his feet and the actual nose slide close enough to break it down?
first
1 person can't frontside noseslide
Yea Isn't this backside yo?
no. tricks are defined by where the obstacle is when you start the trick. so since it's in front of him, it's front side
Go skate after u blaze
very helpful..... NOT!
the kind of answer i'd expect from an underaged kiddy that can't skate (;
This isn't very helpful at all
this guy looks stoned.
The top comment has nothing to do with skateboarding.
aw shit sucks man :/
thats not frontside :|
na an underage kiddy that can't skate wouldn't show respect for a sick pro who has a trick named after him... "thanks" anyway
That shit ain't helpful at all
This is completely worthless.
fs noseslide my ass!
thats bs
no
i knew someone would comment on this
it doesn't matter what way you rotate on a grind the reason its fs is because you approach the ledge fs
yup
its frontside haha damn 2 years ago huh but yeah youre right it is frontside
Dude what the fucc? It says frontside not bak. I don't care how you approach the ledge, the video should be titled baccside noseslide
You're so dumb... it is frontside
everything nollie is opposite, so even though you are turning bs, it is called fs.
Simon Len
Nollie isn't opposite, Fakie is.
You're fucking dumb. Who are you to change the rules of skating? This is a Fs Noseslide. And learn how to spell, dumb 10 year old.
Simon Len this has nothing to do with nollies dude
