    I feel bad for the first guy. It wasn’t just carrot dangling, it was literally getting to the final stage and then telling him that news. Thats crazy.

    They do these ghost jobs where they don’t even intend on hiring anyone. Also I agree for weeks they put that guy in emotional distress. I actually read that some of these companies post job ads to help candidates think 🤔 they are hiring and to boost their morale. They have to be sick in the head to think like this, of course unless their budget isn’t finalized, perhaps they are waiting for interest payments from the stock market for their budget, this is the typical game of corporate businesses

    That guy that went through four interviews and then was told that the company was not going to hire anyone should never have happened. These HR people and any executives involved should have their faces on the FBI top worst companies list.

    Can you please issue a public request to all politicians in state and federal legislature to ban posting fake jobs/fake interviews. I think by now we all in corporate know its happening. legislators may not

    I had an interview with a pretty decent size energy company out of charlotte back in october 2023. They had hired the recruiter i spoke to like two days before my screening call. In my final interview, the purchasing manager was hostile, asked why she should hire me, said she didnt read my resume, etc. I still finished the interview but dont recommend doing one with a bad company like this.

    It’s not surprising that after 8 weeks of not finding what they want, if the circumstances change, they might decide to reorganize and cancel an opening. I have seen that from the hiring side. Desirable? No. Possible, definitely but rare.

    It's because the asking salaries for all of these candidates was too high! That's why they didn't want to hire anyone!

    I promise I don’t have a black heart! But the dark side of me wants to see these HR ppl who do this to applicants lose their jobs then have to go through what they put ppl through and feel completely hopeless as they get rejected and ghosted over and over. Karma eventually comes around HR monsters!

    About the “do I like to party” question, I feel like interviewers over-index on their most recent experience. Probably had someone that liked to party so now they bring that into every situation 🤣

    There are a lot of people looking for jobs but there’s not a lot of good paying jobs for everybody

      Very true the percentage of good jobs to bad jobs radio is higher for bad jobs. You’re absolutely right. So I guess by them posting a job ad that means they want the candidate to think there is a good job, but there is not a good job, and they have limited their opportunities

    For those of us who plan for these downturns, it seems the best path is to build your skill set, which is yours to keep. This is a preparation phase for when things improve. Being busy without being productive makes no sense. You wouldn't test drive a car you have for sale with a "tire kicker"; why would you bother with a "tire kicker" employer?

    data grabs and harvesting to train their LLM and Machine Learning Hiring AI and workflows
    a bigger issue with these job platforms
    and HR platforms
    using us as actors and tools

    the first guy... i'm sorry but HR is NOT an important job and in a market like that, it's impossible to find something. HR are a big part of the problem and the first thing company will cut. BTW sell your house right now, house price will crash and will be impossible to sell later, already slow market, sell it now.
