Nice, with some cool little modulations. Her voice is well suited for something like this. Re: the lyrics, I feel like songwriters in her position -- a recognized and successful folkie -- are sort of obligated to talk about these kinds of topics, like it's *expected* as much as it's their own honest desire.
This was the only album I had of hers back then--and this was my favorite song--very somber but poetic. I didn't really feel it was necessarily about depression more about how life can be dark and we need to be able to see through the darkness.
Hey just curious and I don't mean anything necessarily bad by this question but is this still donation requests or just stuff you want to do? Cheers from Myrtle Beach ⛱️ 😎
after this album is over i'm bringing the channel fully back to doing Live Performances. I'm picking out all kinds of bands/artists/eras and just doing live videos (and donation requests). Dec 23.
@JustinPanariello cool. I have a Journey one that would be great if you could do it. Just The Same Way live Osaka Japan 1980. Right in their sweet spot. The Rollie/Perry combo with a great Schon guitar solo. Anyway, have a good one 👍
You should take your usual approach and not take note of the lyrics. It's distracting your attention from the music. I know that it's harder to do with SV cause her vocals are central but personally I never payed attention to the words -- except for Luka of coarse, cause they're plain as day (but even in that case I just knew that it was about someone being abuse, I didn't know it was a child). I'm pretty sure if you had delved into KingsX's lyrics you probably would have enjoy their music less too -- just saying as a neutral observer, as I only mildly like her work.
Yes! More Vega in the morning!
