    About Top Gun: Maverick:
After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose”. Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.

I love that her character is strong, smart and skilled without being preachy. Not a single male character in this movie is sexist or chauvinist. She's part of the family. That is the best way to deal with sexism in movies: removing it entirely from the script, instead of trying to lecture the audience.

I love the whole cast and all there characters, but pheonix/Monica Barbaro really stood out to me. A strong and beautiful woman that was treated equally. She wasnt just there to be eye candy or a love interest, nor was she a damsel in distress or a contrived girl power feminist, she was one of the pilots like everyone else and was an absolute badass. Charismatic, charming, gorgeous, I obviously have a new celebrity crush.

Even the fact that they had Bill Pullman's son star in the movie, gave the movie an extra layer of nostalgia and beauty. Top Gun Maverick brings back the 80s/ 90s era of big budget thrilling action blockbusters, so to have the son of Bill Pullman, who himself starred in one of the biggest 'save the day' action blockbusters in the form of Independence Day, was somehow quite moving to witness. Top Gun Maverick is about the elder statesmen of flying passing the torch to a new generation of pilots, so it's like life imitating art with Bill passing on the acting torch to his son.

So if you guys ever want to known what its like for a squadron when they are not working its this interview. When I was not flying I was always joking around having fun, once that canopy closed though it was like seeing a difference on par with Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader all fun and games were over and I was all business.

If you want to see more actors getting interviewed while drinking check The Graham Norton Show. The host is great and the atmosphere is brilliant, it has created very entertaining and hilarious interviews.

This sorta reminds me of the training of the actors for Band of Brothers went through to train to be soldiers for the series. They did something like two weeks of boot camp to train as the original BoB would have trained. It allowed them to act more like it was effortless. From the first day of their training forward the only addressed each other by their characters names, etc.

brilliant movie, great cast. they had to have had a blast making this film and becoming friends as a result.. stories of the process that will never cease to entertain. I envy them for the bonds they made.

Monica is so comfortable with these guys this is great one of my oldest and best friends is a female and is awesome because i get advice from her from her female point of view she is a great listener, wingman, and my homie. She has guided me in my career path and has improved my life in so many ways there is nothing i wouldn’t do for her. Some guys have a big brother they look up to but in my case i have a big sister that i look up too.
