Hey Buckin’ & Christine - Just wanted everyone in the Buckin’ Army to know that the quality of the suspenders are ‘Second to None’. The leather is super thick, and the quality of the brass loops and adjustment buckles on the suspenders reminds me of the quality brass you would find around port holes of Custom Motor Yachts. Keep on Buckin’!
As a younger guy( 34) it seems rare to find experience people willing to teach the next generations. Thank you for everything you do and how you explain it. I personally believe if we do not teach and pass down knowledge, the next generation is doomed to repeat the same mistakes.
My trade was panel beater for 26 years here in the uk, the powers that be chose cheap Eastern European unskilled labour over the time honoured (and expensive) tradition of the man who taught the man who taught the man, they broke that chain for their own short term greed, at 55 I should be teaching apprentices in my old trade but I started my own business doing something else, youngsters lack leadership that’s all, all our trades in the uk are screwed because they broke the chain.
Hi Buckin’! I am Jordan R. fiancée (you gave him a t-shirt during a live video and shipped it to Italy few weeks ago). Since we are in Greece and our connection is very limited, we just wanted to let you know the Buckin’s Army t-shirt arrived and Jordan can’t wait to go back in Italy to collect it and wear it! We miss your lives in Sunday night, but we always watch all your videos every day when we can!Thank you for inspiring us to be better people! Even if we are travelling in our van, we still wake up early in the morning and have your Serenity Prayer on the wall to read first thing in the morning, and then a 10km run too! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ♥️ blessings for your lovely Family too!
You are 100% correct. I was very lucky that I learned so much from my dad and grandparents. My dad taught me plumbing and heating. His dad taught me masonry. My mom's dad taught me cabinetry. And all my aunts and grandmoms taught me how to cook. I had a ball as a kid. Yes I was a handful, but once they got my attention, I was hooked. I had time for part time jobs at just ten years old. I worked at a chicken farm, mowed lawns, bailed hay, ran a dragline for my neighbor. Thank God for all the people that saw something in me. My daughters are 31 and 37 and I taught them both everything I could. They are terrific kids. And then we come to you Billy Ray. I'm learning from you and enjoy every show. Thank you.
I know there are very good young men! I live in Tennessee and I have not seen it yet I am in my mid fifties, who is struggling to find good workers. Love your honesty and love watching your videos.
Great job as always Buckin, i agree with the lack of mentorship, I'm glad we have some Father figure types such as yourself available online to teach us younger folks about stuff, things, and life. I've probably learned more things, and more valuable things from men and women here on UA-cam than i did from my parents/older coworkers, its always do this, do that, because i said so, never taught why or how. Thank you for all you do buckin
I know a couple of young men (early twenties) that are smart good people but grew up with out a father and it shows. I love taking them under my wing and showing them not to be scared of getting their hands dirty and doing manly things. I have hope for them but it takes time.
Save the beatdowns send the lift ups Buckin's words of wisdom speaks volumes in everyday life from youngins to elders, knowledge is always sharable and no one can ever learn too much!!!! Keep up the words of inspiration Buckin and anyone else who shares goodness to us all🙏🙏🙏
My 24yo son and everyone of his friends are all out there in the world working hard. They all had like minded parents that are hardworking people also. I haven’t had to give my son a single dime since he was 14 thanks to his start in splitting firewood and today he works for a major petroleum refinery. I see some rare cases of laziness but for the most part his generation is moving in the right direction. Thanks Buckin.
Love your enthusiasm for the next generation to find their niche and be happy in what ever they choose to do for a career but they should always have time to help others like you do.
The woods are so cool. I like seeing nature’s creations. Do the Maples get tapped for sap. Not sure if that was a sap tank I briefly saw in the video. I don’t have a lot of time to sit and watch videos but when I do I really enjoy your channel. Makes it worth my time. 👍🏻
I use to eyeball my rakers and I tell ya once I opened my ears and listen to this man my chainsaw experience went to the next level. Raker to cutter might be the most important relationship I’m in! 😂. Also chains don’t last forever. You wouldn’t wipe your arse with only one square right? Why get skimpy with the file. Take as much as it needs to get sharp. Game changer ✌️
Love it! I noticed your chalk board the other day. “You are your problem’”. So true! I am learning that I am the solution!! Working on getting better everyday. Thanks Buckin!
Just found your channel. I’m a machinist of over three decades and like runnin files. Just started cutting firewood and gotta say, thank you for showin me how to run that guy. Super cool and I Like sharp stuff!!!
Your spot on Buckin, the young need guiding and encouraging. We see this because we are positive people, negative people see negative things. Lifes a learning curve and then we move on. ✌🏴👍
I can't agree more with your "it's your chain, do whatever you want with it." This applies to all things in life. I view chainsaw operating as a hobby for me much like fishing and hunting (for me). I remember fishing with a buddy that was not willing to put his jig / lure into the cover where the fish were hanging out because he was getting hung up and loosing some jigs. While I was catching fish, he was just fishing. Yes, he caught a few but not nearly the same amount as I did. When life is about enjoying what you're doing and life is supposed to be enjoyed, you need to do what makes you happy.
Freak yeah Buckin, I’m in my early thirties but I’m also seeing this and this past couple years I’ve been working on being a better mentor and example and it’s teaching me ultimately. I’m astounded with the process. We need each other
Unfortunately the lack of leadership has the consequence of people not wanting to work. So it’s both. Here in the states the work place politics are unfathomably tiresome.
We had children fairly young. My eldest is now 21 and I’ve just turned 42. We go out of our way to have a place for our children and their friends to be. And be heard. And feel welcomed. Come use the shop, show them how to weld and mechanic and fix and also give a hand around the farm we also try to take them out fishing and sledding and create space and time to hear them they are all engaged and interested and intelligent and full of potential. They just need somebody to say let’s see it. Have at her, you try and I’ll give you a hand if you get stuck. you can do it. Kids are kids. They just need to hear that somebody believes in them and they just soar!!! I think every generation has people that look at the youth coming up and say “kids these days!!!” Well I believe any short coming in your kids isn’t a kid failure it’s a parenting failure. They don’t now any different they are kids. You gotta show them different.
Man Buckin our views on this life, world, things out there is just so similar! I’m a STIHL guy and a Chevy guy lol but those aren’t the things I’m talking about its the things that are way bigger than a brand its the heart that matters! I love you brother and the Buckin army hard work, kindness, honesty, love!
Hey!!! That’s an old farmers promise ring, there was a costumed up blacksmith from Barkersville BC making some for us for 2$ a piece on a class field trip when I was small. He also explained the idea behind them, thought it was pretty neat.
I couldn't agree more about the younger generations. I think it's all about how you communicate and interact with one another that matters. Actually, we could learn from those rocks and trees adapting to one another and coexisting in harmony! 😂 Thank you for the video Buckin and have a nice day, everyone!
Could not agree with you more Buckin. Seek to praise and not cut down. I was fortunate to have a few good men, including my dad and grandpas, who taught me, worked with me, and spent the time to pass on their knowledge to me. One common theme was: Theu all wanted to teach me to what they knew, grow me to that point t so I could push it further and pass it onto the next generation. Seek to teach, pass knowledge, and grow. A simple “well done” does a lot for a person. Thankful I found your channel and the firewood/ saw community. Knowledge and support all around great community. 👍🏻
My nephew garren repacked his first Ford wheel bearings today. He's learned a lot in the past couple of weeks including welding yeah am I a mentor know I just make everything fun
Buck, been watching your videos for a while now. First time commenting, I really enjoy your positivity. I am looking for an axe to spilt for my woodkiln, I have a bit of experience using an axe but I wanted to make an investment in a piece that would last the time and not just buy something and regret it. Any advise or tips on what to buy or where to purchase one. I am currently based in Japan but would happily buy from aboard and have it shipped. Thanks in advance, hope you're well ( I know you are) and staying out of trouble. Keep making the fun content.
Your absolutely right about the younger generation, my two boys are in there mid 20s they both have jobs and I always compliment them to raise there spirits , Nature is the best , that was beautiful footage thanks buckin.
Howdy Buckin and Buckin army . We need to lift up this younger generation and teach them the way we were. I have my soon to be son-in-law with me . He is 21 now working in industrial maintenance side by side with me . Ive so far in the past 2 years been able to show him so much. He is a good guy and works hard every day . Thanks for the video Buckin and for the encouragement to take care of this generation.✌️yall
Buckin, you are so busy working hard every day. It's not just the millennials. Its society as a whole thats the problem. There is a lot to be said for living in the rural areas of our world.
Hello from Kentucky Billy Ray..... Really appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us my friend....Incase you dont have room for the new 562 you can send it to Kentucky brother.... Lol
This is truly an amazing community of men who actually care. Glad to be a new member of this as a man and encourager of young men like Jewel. Tell Jewel he is kicking some real A**
Great video love the nature can walk around outside in that environment for hours there are a lot of fine young men out there they just need to be showed the way i have 2 boys and 2 girls and they are hard workers and have a good head on there shoulders cause they had mentors in there life to guide them problems i see is a lot of young men are getting put down instead of lifting up you give them positive feedback and it goes a long way thanks for all you do buckin stay kind be humble over and out
Buckin I agree some of the younger gen are very smart and hard working. I’m still watching for the braces but I’m on the east coast may take a bit. Love ya man take care!!
Heart: I feel like I want to drink that bottle of Jack Daniels. Mind: That can only lead to trouble. Buckin', following your heart can be dangerous. You must incorporate the mind to lead you in the right direction. Both are vitally important. The mind should set the course. The heart should fulfill its dreams. One is passion, the other is strategy.
well the work ethic is different no doubt. I have experienced that with a insurance claim for a plumbing leak in my house. 5 months later we are back in. Every contractor we had from drying out to installing the floor to moving us back in was a nightmare. The most poeple who work like poeple worked up to the early 2000 is the hispanic crews. My mentality is with you and your gen, but unless you experience it you are stubborn to it. Its all about the most money for doing the least amount of work for sure. rock on😁
Id love to try a ground chain, not sure we have em too much in the eastern US. Id love to have one of those grinders and the chops to use it right too. Its hand filing for me though.
Hey Buckin, just wanted to say that your saw sharpening tutorials have helped me out tremendously and I appreciate you taking time out of your day to create these videos. One question for you, I work for Davey Tree Expert company, I struggle with a morning routine. I’m tired, unmotivated, and in pain. What do you find helps you in regards to morning routine and/or diet?
only been to the island a few times but quite beautiful. ever get the chance buckin, 1 hour east of prince george is the only ancient inland rain forest that most have heard of. BIG ancient cedars they say almost 2000 years old. worth the walk every time
Broken homes make Broken children... boys become men by being taught how to be men by men the problem is that in the workforce I spend way too much time holding the hands of boys and trying to drag them into manhood it's not the boys fault.... it's parent delinquency but it's frustrating for the men in the workforce who have to spend months or years being these kids dad while still trying to be productive, so I see both sides!
That is a cool I love stuff like that it’s always amazing to see how trees grow out of rock or on the side like they do .there is Cool place called silverton fall’s Oregon I think you wife would enjoy it it’s a state park it is cool place
Today’s guidance level is really low by some people… Show your kids how to do it and they will catch on they are like sponges wanting to learn daily… 🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼🪚🔨
The younger generations don't want to work because the wages aren't enough to put a roof over your head and food on the table. Inflation has outpaced wages drastically. There wouldn't be a shortage of workers if there were jobs that actually paid good money. There is a shortage of workers because employers aren't offering workers a wage that will support them.
Do not beat these young men down the government is doing a good job on that with all the gaslighting and hyperinflation since 80% of all money has been printed in the last 4 years. This is why we are not helping these young men. they need our help. Encourage them and help them succeed.
Hey Buckin can you explain why the tooth is lifting when it comes into the wheel? Is it miss aligned or is that what a dull chain looks like coming into the wheel?
I agree the best thing you can say at the end of the day is good job thanks see you tmrw. Younger guys need to hear it and appreciate when you do. Also saying thank you. It makes a difference. Work hard be kind!!!! Words to live bye❤
Hey I'm from the west coast I used to be a wild land sawyer and now I'm transitioning to falling timber and I have an older 390 xp with 32 inch what are your thoughts on a 390 xp I used run a stihl 661 with a 36 inch on fires
Buckin, have you ever tried any of the cheaper power grinders for chains other than the simington? I’m really wanting something for my saw shop but cannot afford the high end power sharpeners, at least not yet.
I’m 32 and 90% of the things I know outside of basic car mechanics I’ve taught myself through UA-cam I hadn’t ran a saw till I found your channel and I’m no tree guy I like the sound and smell and for a person like me a tree and a saw is might free my friends
Lack of parenting is a big part of it. I train young men at work and it does feel like you have to not only train them but parent them also. I dont mind it but i get a bit cranky some mornings lol im an old millenial 84'
Hate to be the one that disagrees, but over the last 10 years, very few of the 20 somethings that came through my work had ANY work ethic. What we heard whenever we gave instruction was, I’ve done the job, what else do you want. Sloppy and can’t take instruction because everything is criticism to them…
I've been framing houses for 40 years and what I see is 1: very few young people in the trade and 2: those that are in it are for the most part lazy, they cant even show up on time, they demand respect even though they have done nothing to earn it. They don't take instruction well because they think they know everything already, and they all want top $$$ for having no skills just because they need the money to buy the things they want. Every once in a while, I will come across a kid that's different but thats just about as rare as hens teeth. The trade is full of old guys and illegals that actually want to work. Just calling it as i see it
Hey Buckin’ & Christine - Just wanted everyone in the Buckin’ Army to know that the quality of the suspenders are ‘Second to None’. i got brown and black suspenders and a black belt .they are built to last well worth it.thanks buckin

you are most welcome . love you guys
Thank you. Loved the nature walk. You're not crazy,. Just tuned in. 👍😀👍
I love that you took care of that guy who wanted your suspenders.
I’m currently saving my Pennie’s for a pair.
You’re the best buckin.
Life is to short friend. Thx
You are 100% correct. I was very lucky that I learned so much from my dad and grandparents. My dad taught me plumbing and heating. His dad taught me masonry. My mom's dad taught me cabinetry. Very good
Buckin, you continue to speak words of wisdom and spread the joy of nature. I can’t thank you enough for the inspiration you give me.
I know there are very good young men! I live in Tennessee and I have not seen it yet I am in my mid fifties, who is struggling to find good workers. Love your honesty and love watching your videos.

Hardwork may not give the best salary but end of the day you can be proud of yourself, that's something money can't buy..
Love your enthusiasm for the next generation to find their niche and be happy in what ever they choose to do for a career but they should always have time to help others like you do.
A Bias for Action! Absolutely.
I fully agree, I see awesome young people everywhere.
Well done
Love it! I noticed your chalk board the other day. “You are your problem’”. So true! I am learning that I am the solution!! Working on getting better everyday. Thanks Buckin!
what ever you do Eric ,, dont take yer life out on people. it is unevolved, and weak there are other words i could use but you know what i mean
BTW, I love the nature observation. I could show you places in the BWCA/QUETICO that are like straight out of the movie Avatar.
Buckin I just got my first job on a logging crew I don't know what I'm getting myself into but I'm ready to bust my butt ! I'm so happy for myself !
loggin is a big operation,, what part are you involved in?
@BuckinBillyRaySmith I'm going to be working with three star logging they gonna have me bucking limbs off trees at first but my goal is to be a faller

Right on point as always Buckin!
I work with some very young impressionable men! They just need to be encouraged.
Hey!!! That’s an old farmers promise ring, there was a costumed up blacksmith from Barkersville BC making some for us for 2$ a piece on a class field trip when I was small. He also explained the idea behind them, thought it was pretty neat.
That place is so awesome. I wish I could come visit that beautiful country
Buckin Thank you Thank you !! Got the Sussies today love them and the leather ritual amazing stuff and buttons love it thank you Christine !!!
👍 awesome thx for letting us know and yer support
People get so little encouragement. It doesn’t take that much. Bravo.
Awesome words! Gives me a boost at 34, cuttin trees and learning something new with each tree.
I agree with Buckin. These kids need role models to see what the world has to offer and how to get there at the right way.
The rocks and trees are amazing

Hey Buckin, just wanted to say that your saw sharpening tutorials have helped me out tremendously and I appreciate you taking time out of your day to create these videos. One question for you, I work for Davey Tree Expert company, I struggle with a morning routine. I’m tired, unmotivated, and in pain. What do you find helps you in regards to morning routine and/or diet?
Get up real early and watch a couple of my videos 😊
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith I do that already 😂
Spot on
only been to the island a few times but quite beautiful. ever get the chance buckin, 1 hour east of prince george is the only ancient inland rain forest that most have heard of. BIG ancient cedars they say almost 2000 years old. worth the walk every time
Buckin ur good man ,u give Morgan work job!!
Good job man, nice to mide you from Indonesia

Bernadette means something to me too, Bernadette Peters!
The actor Bernadette Peter's! Gorgeous area there at Bartans!🤩🤩
Today’s guidance level is really low by some people… Show your kids how to do it and they will catch on they are like sponges wanting to learn daily… 🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼🪚🔨
Very nice closeup shots on the grinder. Is that a Canadian brand, don’t know that I have heard of it. 👍👍
❤
Do not beat these young men down the government is doing a good job on that with all the gaslighting and hyperinflation since 80% of all money has been printed in the last 4 years. This is why we are not helping these young men. they need our help. Encourage them and help them succeed.
Great job @buckin.
Hey Buckin can you explain why the tooth is lifting when it comes into the wheel? Is it miss aligned or is that what a dull chain looks like coming into the wheel?
time stamp your question please
BBR, I’m 52 so You AND I are gen-X. We’re born into that strange transitory time in our world. It’s just not the same as it was when we were younger.
I agree the best thing you can say at the end of the day is good job thanks see you tmrw. Younger guys need to hear it and appreciate when you do. Also saying thank you. It makes a difference. Work hard be kind!!!! Words to live bye❤
18:30 AirB-n-B here means Air-Bees and Bear 😄
Hey I'm from the west coast I used to be a wild land sawyer and now I'm transitioning to falling timber and I have an older 390 xp with 32 inch what are your thoughts on a 390 xp I used run a stihl 661 with a 36 inch on fires
What size wheel are you using to sharpen the square ground chain?
I like your shirt/jacket. What brand is that? Love the channel!
Buckin, have you ever tried any of the cheaper power grinders for chains other than the simington? I’m really wanting something for my saw shop but cannot afford the high end power sharpeners, at least not yet.
no
I have a list of men who made me the man I am today. Some I’ve seen pass but the others know who they are because I tell them😉👍
Well said!
Buckin Billy can you leave a link for a good raker gauge to buy for a 562 or 372
Hate to be the one that disagrees, but over the last 10 years, very few of the 20 somethings that came through my work had ANY work ethic.
Just calling it as i see it
focus on the hens teeth
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith Absolutely.
Nice rock and tree formation!
How are you doing buckin billy ray ❤
Well
