  • I am so excited to share with you the most influential design movement of our history. The Bauhaus movement is the birthplace of modernism and is one of the most interesting movements in architecture and design. I am super excited to share with you this movement and how it is still extremely influential in our everyday lives. I feel like we talk about many modern styles, but we don't hear enough about where it all started. Today I am talking about the history of this influential design style!
    ENJOY!

    The Bauhaus is timeless. It always feels fresh without being too edgy or too dated. Good design will never lose its hold on people.

    Very interesting, but I think you’re mixing in Mondrian and the De Stijl designers with Bauhaus. Not the same, but they go together beautifully.

    I fell in love with the Arts & Crafts style first but then I was introduced to the Bauhaus movement and fell in love with it too. They are okay with me loving them both and show no jealousy toward each other. The details in my home such as the fireplace tile and other built in wood work is defintiely Arts & Craft but my furniture leans toward mid-century/Bauhaus. I am beginning to see a theme with my preferences and it's that I clean lines and open spaces but I like vintage. Gand Millenial, Victorian and Traditional are way to fussy for me but thanks to you I know that my primary home overall decor is Transitional. In my vacation home in the mountains I would go with Arts & Crafts - very Fallingwater-esque and my house on the beach totally Bauhaus minus the Partridge Family bus multi color grid. Still working on that moutain home and beach home though. You knocked this one out of the ball park!

      Omg I love this! Arts and crafts is my number one to. But styles change and transform over time...so I hear yea! Yes my beach house will be costal / scandi and my mountain home will be eclectic arts and crafts! I too am working on bringing those to fruition 😅
      Thank you for the kind words as always!
      😊💛

    I also love how you gave the history behind the movement. As with most styles I'm sure that the events of the time period that the style emerged dictated the aesthetics.

    watching this. Been trying to have a theme to my house, and decided to paint the Piet Mondrian painting on my wall. The video also gave me fresh ideas for it!

    Ms. Idh
    I've been binge watching your channel because I want to decorate my house in Art Deco style.
    Can you do a series on how you would take a modern and plan house and set it up to be themed for xyz style?
    Like a mood board, crafts you could do so you can add the touches without breaking the bank. Or even how to also add the store to the exterior of the house?

    Thank you so much for your video! You do a great job explaining the movement. It would also be great for you to do a video on the arts and crafts movement, or like I said before, art nouveau.

      I think if you turn on the CC then you will get subtitles, I think you can select language as well. Hope that helps.

    if you are a designer, why would you endorse people to buy fakes? keep design REAL

    • @InteriorDesignHub
      @InteriorDesignHub  3 місяці тому

      Because not everyone can afford real, design shouldn't be limited to the rich.
