They said maybe from around Detroit... yeah that's where I live and that truck would have been rusted out way worse than that. Hell I've seen newer trucks with worse rust than that around here.
To us in Denver that is a surprising amount of rust. Looks all surface and could probably easily be cleaned but still. Looks terrible. I doubt a truck this old would even still be on the road in Detroit. These probably rotted out 20 years ago
For $2500 and 4x4 that’s a great deal. Who cares that it’s a 1992 , put a little money into it fix the 4x4 and A/C and you have a great truck for years to come.
4x4 I beam with a 4.0 5 speed. Those trucks ruled 7s (stock mini truck) in desert racing. Takes very little to get 14" of travel front and rear. They can be pretty fun little trucks

It's a Ranger with different badging! So it's a 27 year old tough truck in pretty good shape. Put those manual front hubs on the front, some head liner material and 3M adhesive for the interior, and go. If those five tires came with it, good buy Andre.
I love the twin I beam setup, my dads 93' F350 has it and it is surprisingly comfortable, even compared to new trucks. it also helps to be a crew cab with 8' bed because by the time the rear axle goes over something you are a quarter mile down the road lol

I learned to drive on the previous generation B-series. It was an '88 4x4 with the 5 speed. I drove it for 3 years and then sold it to buy some altogether less memorable piece of crap. I still regret selling that truck.
I just sold my 93, was 4.0L, manual trans, 2wd . Had 250,000 miles on it in 2001, lost track but i think it was 460 or 560,000 miles and still running. Hell It would sit for a few weeks & start right up -20 to -30F WITH NO LIFTER TICK. Had knee surgery.. so couldn't drive it. Miss it
Fond memories of '94 Mazda B3000. The 3.0 V6 was stout, reliable and perfectly matched with the 5 speed manual. It did great on road trips from Sea to San Francisco pulling small U-Haul trailer. Got descent gas mileage too.
Mine is a 96 B3000 with 5 speed and even the manual 4x4 system. This one has a lot more extra features then mine. My hood has the same issue with the paint fade. Owned mine for almost 7 years. Been a good solid truck. One of the best things about these trucks is the fact they're not as common as a Ranger but mechanically, you can still get parts cheap and easy for them. Can't wait to see more content on this!
All they did to the headlights was flip them over. The left headlight on a Ranger is the right headlight on a Mazda, & vice-versa. Slip a small block Ford in that bad boy & you’ve got something!
My brother and I, born in 84 and 86, used those style rear seats in my dad's ranger for many years. Uncomfy and when you hit a bump off road your head bounced off either the front seat or rear window. We cheered when he got his chevy Cheyenne.
Every body hates on rangers but they find out that they are not that bad once they drive them, sometimes they are a pain in the butt to work on but other than that their pretty solid 😂
I'm quite familiar with that generation of Ford Ranger/Explorer. Depending on one's opinion, the Ford Twin-Traction beam suspension combined either the best or the worst of a fully independent suspension and solid front axle suspension. The TTB tended to wear tires badly and was hard to align (either shimming and/or bending of the beam was necessary to get a correct alignment). But the setup was super tough to damage. Most of the problems with it centered on the front coil springs, which were almost always too light for the application. On the TTB trucks I owned, the first thing I did was replace the front springs with much heavier duty springs and that made them handle much better and not wear tires as severely (take note, Andre). That era of Ford's automatic hubs would almost always fail at 80K-120K--replacing them with regular locking hubs solves the problem. The 4.0L V6 was reliable and very long-lived if maintained properly, but was not very fuel-efficient. An Explorer of the era that I owned was still going strong at 250K+ miles the last time that I saw it, without any major rebuilding of anything. A fellow that I know has a '92 Ranger 4x4 with nearly 400K miles on it, without any major rebuilding.
Rode in one of those jump seats from PA to NC in college. One and only time. These and the Ford Ranger bro from this generation are pretty decent off-roaders, at least with the LS diff. My 87 Ranger got me everywhere I needed to go hunting and fishing, rain, snow, rock, and mud. Can't wait to see this old Mazda on the trail. (Manual hubs are a must, good buy Andre)
I had a B3000 years ago and liked it a lot. I think the Mazda front end looks a lot nicer than the Ranger version and it looked a lot better when I removed the stickers on the side. I don't know why they thought it looked better with stickers, it just makes it look like a toy. Oh, if the clutch dies, you might want to pay a shop to replace it. The transmission doesn't really fit out from the bottom without resorting to extreme measures. I don't know how hard it is to loosen or lift the cab for clearance but it wasn't something I wanted to attempt in the street so I pulled really hard until I dropped the transmission on my arm. It was a success and my arm didn't break but it could have gone much worse.
I've never seen so many Rangers as I have in CO. My bf has an 03 & honestly it's in mint condition 0 rust, no dents & drives like new, it has 180,000 miles on it.
I loved dads 91 Ford ranger it had those back seats and the 4.0 motor. One of my favorite vehicles he ever owned. It was the family vehicle for a couple weeks while all the other vehicles were down lol

@@wildbill23c I like a small truck to drive every day, I only trust toyota and ford lol maybe one day add a supersharger but my brothers wife has a 4Runner that models bit a 20, same thing… it’s faster than mine but still slow. I used a f150 5.0 around the farm and upgraded to a 250 with the diesel, my ole ranger and current taco are just fun to drive both with 33s make them a fun all around ride
@@wildbill23c 2001 was the year the new 4.0 was introduced. I had a 2000 Ranger with the OHV 4.0 Rock solid, but it couldn't pass anything including a gas station. Surprising tow capability though
Could be either but you're probably right. If it's like the one on my old explorer it's not hard to replace and a good smack will probably get it going in a pinch.
I had a 94 ford Ranger 4 liter auto 4x4 bought it new drove the piss out of it. I put 175K miles on it with only oil changes, battery and tires for maintenance. I traded it in on a new 99 Ford Explorer 4 liter auto and had great luck with that. That 4 liter power train was phenomenal.
Have a ‘93 4.0, 5 speed manual, 4x4. Has 275K on it. The push putt on 4x4 sucked, changed it out, added manual front hub lockers. It our feed store truck now. Doubles as a Gator/side x side.
I bought a brand new 1994 Mazda B4000 manual regular cab right out of college for $12,000. It was silver with the same graphics in blue. Drove it for a year and bought a brand new left over 1994 Ford Ranger STX 4x4 extended cab 4.0l auto, big promotion at work, so I stepped up! My friends would ride for hours on those little jump seats to go mountain biking and dirt biking. Great trucks with decent gas mileage. We called overlanding camping back then...went most weekends in the summer.
Wow, a blast from the past! I had a 1997 B2500 (had the Mazda 2.5 liter 4 cylinder) 2-wheel drive with the 5 speed manual. Great little farm truck, it replaced my small Toyota pickup (literally broke in half). The Mazda was much better at hauling and loading. That 4 liter V6 is a bullet proof engine, had that in my 1993 Ranger and 93 Explorer (both manuals). Thanks TFL for the memories! Took my Mazda up a lot of those roads and highways around Boulder many years ago with my daughters.
The Ranger is the best value for money in the class. Only the Toy is tougher, at a premium of a thousand dollars, more in today's market. For that premium, you get either the anemic 22R or the 2.7L for which you cannot get parts. Forget the Toy V-6, they didn't build enough of them to count. You two are worth the listen when you're not taking cheap shots at a truck that has enabled thousands of working men and homeowners for decades.
Yes I remember my dad getting one when I was five ( born in 86). I learned how to drive the 5spd at 8. In later years I drove it to high school and after. Basically it was like my sibling lol. But it would not die no matter how hard I drove it.
I have a 1998 Mazda B2500 and I love it! I installed Monroe load helper rear shocks that look like "coil overs" and I also installed a leaf spring load helper kit. This made a big difference for CHEAP! Might want to look into both of those. I also installed a lot of urethane bushings, new brakes all around, all new steering parts. They aren't the greatest trucks, but they will get you around for cheap! I love my Ford Mazda!
My dad had one his was 2wd 4 cylnder 5 speed manual back in the 90s and he had it forever and beat the crap out of it. It was really reliable. My sister and i hated those rear seats on long road trips lol.
I wouldn't have said this two years ago, but damn good buy today for a little truck like that. If you could even find one, the same truck in Texas would be $4k-$6k easy right now. It makes me sad because it reminds me of my 1984 S-10 that I had to get rid of 9 years ago. They don't make them like that anymore! Chipless keys and solid engine!
I had a 2wd 3.0 liter 5 speed.... It was awesome I installed a limited slip and used it for light towing/ hauling and moderate off roading to get the fishing spots.... I wish I still had that Vulcan V6 beast
Thanks TFL, I’ll be selling my 95 B4000 soon, bought it in 2002, drove it to 311,000 miles when the water pump went out. Paid $5500 for it back then, will ask $2500 when I get the pump fixed. Best money I’ve ever spent on a vehicle. 4x4 has manual hubs, ac works fine. Great little truck.

"It's a little crusty." *Laughs in rust belt* That is extremely clean for its age if it were here. I don't see body rust! It's pretty common to see 10-20 year old trucks here which have very crusty or missing rocker panels. That thing looks immaculate!
My first pickup truck was a 1995 Mazda B-2300, 2WD reg cab short bed with the 4R44E transmission. Bought new, I took that truck all over New England and up state NY. Had a blast with it (sold it in 2003 when I got a Tacoma 4WD).
My Dad has a 1996 B3000 and he is still driving it. They are pretty much bullet proof. And it’s a Ford Ranger, there is no Mazda in it except the badge. Everything under the hood says FOMOCO and it even says manufactured by the Ford Motor Company.
A buddy of mine had ‘94 B4000 SE in high school that he put through the ringer. That thing would take anything you threw at it, until the ol V6 let go. It was a good little truck.
My dad had the same truck back in the 90’s regular cab, 4cyl, no power steering and 5 speed. The sloppiest transmission ever but learned to drive stick on that thing. If you could find 3rd gear your were a hero 😂
We now own... this exact truck (like this truck). Recently replaced both front wheel bearings, rusted out rear shackles and a full 4 inch suspension lift. It made a few good road trips and up to yellow stone and back. Unfortunately ... the head gasket just blew last week. We will be either replacing the gasket, heads, and some other parts or if the gf is up for it v8 swapping.
As I watch this the only thing they didn't make fun of was the transmission. I had an 89 ranger. The only thing I ever had a problem with was the transmission. Had to put two different ones in it before I it got rid of it Mine had the five-speed manual also. Were they using a different transmission between those years? ???
Okay, so first couple of OEM+ upgrades you need to do to that truck are; grab a rear end from a newer Explorer with disk brakes. It's a relatively straightforward swap requiring nothing that isn't factory installed and gives you the option of a limited slip rear along with disks. It will have the 4.0 OHV V6 which...to put it nicely...is a dog. There's really not much in the way of power mods you can do that actually make any significant difference. Also, keep in mind...anything from an Explorer will swap over with relative ease.
Alot of people wish these were still made ! Only need a "huge" full size if your in business. other then that? Most guys need to show there "big Boyz Toys" and show off full size toys especially @ the gas pump when you need a 100 bill minimum......
Unless you got the 4 banger, that Full-size will be a lot cheaper to drive. The 3.0's are OK, but the 4.0's drink like a 460ci in a 3/4 ton. The Ranger is going to be nicer in the city just for its size. It's smaller than a Maverick, with more usable bed and a low-range. I had a 2000 Ranger XLT Supercab style side 4x2 with the 4.0 and 4 speed auto. Got 13mpg on a good day, 15 maybe on the highway if I was really gentle. My current 2017 Silverado LT Crewcab 4x4 with the 5.3 does 3-6mpg better (about 3 in the city, 6+ on the highway).
That’s so crazy how clean that truck is. You guys are smoking crack calling it crusty. Chevy trucks look worse after 2 winters here in the north east. I personally love it Andre. Get rid of the Dana 28 and swap in a solid axle Dana 30.
Right? That’d be super clean for the northeast for a 1994. Bed rails were spotless and the coating just flaked off the frame after 25 years. That will still last a very long time with that “rust”

The front and rear lower quarters of the bed are complete gone from rot and the frame has a nice scale on it like a fish. Oh yeah I can see right through the floor while driving. Did I mention it has no rockers left. So like I said that’s one clean ranger.
@@austinandannah5357 LOL I hear ya. My Grandmother lives in Pittsburgh so I know what you mean. She moved back in 2015 with her 06 Explorer with now 150k miles, lived in Denver its whole life. Ford Techs were in shock at how clean the underneath was, I went and looked while it was on a lift and not a spec of rust. I have a 98 Tahoe, a little surface rust on the frame now but still fairly black. Body has no rust . I feel bad for you rust belt guys
I had a green B4000 for my first vehicle. Had it for 11 years and had 80k miles on it when we got it. Loved that truck. Had the most comfortable seats I have ever been in. Not the most reliable vehicle though.
Awesome buy Andrey!! I have a 2000 ranger (since new) similar to your Mazda with 365k miles on it. Still used as a daily driver. I believe the front hubs are vacuum operated. Check for leaks when installing new hubs. That 5 speed is bullet proof, just change the tranny fluid regularly.
The added weight of that topper will wear on that rear suspension over time...Good News!!! Parts are plentiful and cheap to fix nearly everything on that truck.
I had a 94 b3000. When I asked for Mazda parts at the part store, they would tell me it was special order. When I asked for the same part for a Ranger they had plenty.
That truck is in good shape. Those little trucks made midsize trucks cool. They do well off road and can do light work just don't think you can put much in the back of it. For a 160hp v6 4.0 they do really well towing small boats etc. If I find one that clean for 2,500 I'd buy it a fix it up. That one needs paint and a little work on the interior.
Can’t wait for these two to get humbled after talking all that smack. That thing is a deal and a half. Oh, and why so much hate on the color?! I love it!
These are great! I think the little TTB Fords are an outstanding budget off road choice. Their all body on frame as opposed to the unibody XJ and the 4.0L is quite a bit more punchy than an old 22r would be. It's pretty simple to swap a solid axle in place even with reusing some factory suspension links and taking two transfer cases and making one with an additional reduction box is a common DIY thing within the off road ranger platform community. Hugely underrated in my opinion.
Great video! Great truck! My 1998 with 2.5 torque monster is just shy of 300,000 miles they will go forever. My 2003 Ranger has less than 75,000, yeah I like Rangers. Good buy Andre!
I have a '98 2.5, 5speed, w/194k, single cab, short bed. You are right about the torque. The truck just wants to run. It no slouch on the twistys. I have added sandbags, to put weight on the axles. I call it a Miata, with a bed.
I have a 94 b3000 this same color. Mine is a 3.0 liter manual trans but single cab with the real long bed. Not the 6 foot that most people think of but the 7 foot. Im planning on putting a camper shell on it but they arent easy to find for a 7 foot bed.
The seats were made by Flofit and were only avail. on the Mazda B series and not avail. in the Ranger (the ranger didn't have the thigh support., They also went into the Ford Explorer and the Mustang.
Fellas, i believe that twin i beam suspension was also used on Ford's full sized pickups for some time. They changed to a torsion bar suspension after that and did the same in the Rangers and B2000's
I’m looking into buying a 94 b2300 Mazda, but I wanna know if the 94 Ford ranger rough country leveling kit will also fit this truck, I have read on different forums that other parts are interchangeable but I just want to be sure.
Hi, I have a 1994 Mazda B3000 4x4 Cab Plus, it is at just under 400,000. Last summer the transmission blew up and I had it replaced, plus the clutch, master and slave. Other than that and a bit of rust around the fenders its my idea back country vehicle. I even get down ATV trails most of the time. If anyone has something like this I'd appreciate knowing if you have made or built in storage units behind the seats in the back of the cab. Thanks Steve (68yrs), Manitoba Canada.

They're great trucks, but I think the guys were a little overly enthusiastic about the transmission. The M5OD has an internal slave cylinder that requires the whole transmission to be pulled when it fails, and the bearings tend to wear out on 3rd and 5th, causing failures. I'm currently dealing with that issue right now on my 98.
I purchased a b2500 after college with 150k and it’s nearing 200k with no probs except AC still running strong but will probably upgrade soon to a 1/2 ton
Hurts when these kids weren't even born or barley alive when this was being made. My 99 mazda b2500 SE was a great truck. 4 cly, 5 speed was decent 100k with very few issues!! 115.00 a month car payment, shew. Miss that!!!!
For 2500 bucks, I think that truck is perfect for a stating point of having a good truck with a little more money invested in it. You could use it for overlanding.
Throw some front drop brackets and coil springs from a F250 you’ll have much better front whee travel Offroad. Loved my 1990 Ranger with the 4.0….just not the automatic A4LD trans which had to be rebuilt.
My ‘96 Ranger is still going strong with it’s 3.0LV6. It’s lower to the ground and easier to load than my newer full size truck. The water stain on the rear headliner is from a leaking third brake light seal, I had to replace that on mine.

there is camshaft available for that OHV 4.0L engine that really wakes that engine up , that and remove the EGR components and block off the egr port

My grandma' used to have a 2002 ranger, but sadly the 4x4 didn't work, i loved the rear seat
My old 1989 Mercury Sable had to be the brownest of the brown vehicles. Yards of beige fabric, gallons of metallic beige brown paint.
I've never seen so many Rangers as I have in CO. My bf has an 03 & honestly it's in mint condition 0 rust, no dents & drives like new, it has 180,000 miles on it.

My grandfather has a 1994 B4000 with the 4.0 V-6 mated to an automatic. Although 2wd, it's still going strong at 240,000 miles.
I loved dads 91 Ford ranger it had those back seats and the 4.0 motor. One of my favorite vehicles he ever owned. It was the family vehicle for a couple weeks while all the other vehicles were down lol
Had an 01 ranger 4.0. Very quick little 4x4 and had the coldest ac ever, mine was updated with 207hp so this is the previous 4.0

@@wildbill23c I like a small truck to drive every day, I only trust toyota and ford lol maybe one day add a supersharger but my brothers wife has a 4Runner that models bit a 20, same thing… it’s faster than mine but still slow. I used a f150 5.0 around the farm and upgraded to a 250 with the diesel, my ole ranger and current taco are just fun to drive both with 33s make them a fun all around ride

Rock solid, but it couldn't pass anything including a gas station. Surprising tow capability though

I had a 94 ford Ranger 4 liter auto 4x4 bought it new drove the piss out of it. I put 175K miles on it with only oil changes, battery and tires for maintenance. I traded it in on a new 99 Ford Explorer 4 liter auto and had great luck with that. That 4 liter power train was phenomenal.
Have a ‘93 4.0, 5 speed manual, 4x4. Has 275K on it. The push putt on 4x4 sucked, changed it out, added manual front hub lockers. It our feed store truck now. Doubles as a Gator/side x side.
I bought a brand new 1994 Mazda B4000 manual regular cab right out of college for $12,000. It was silver with the same graphics in blue. Drove it for a year and bought a brand new left over 1994 Ford Ranger STX 4x4 extended cab 4.0l auto, big promotion at work, so I stepped up! My friends would ride for hours on those little jump seats to go mountain biking and dirt biking. Great trucks with decent gas mileage. We called overlanding camping back then...went most weekends in the summer.
5:52 everyone should remember those back seats when small trucks were made like S10 Ranger and Mazda B Series pickup trucks.
Wow, a blast from the past! I had a 1997 B2500 (had the Mazda 2.5 liter 4 cylinder) 2-wheel drive with the 5 speed manual. Great little farm truck, it replaced my small Toyota pickup (literally broke in half). The Mazda was much better at hauling and loading. That 4 liter V6 is a bullet proof engine, had that in my 1993 Ranger and 93 Explorer (both manuals). Thanks TFL for the memories! Took my Mazda up a lot of those roads and highways around Boulder many years ago with my daughters.
The Ranger is the best value for money in the class. Only the Toy is tougher, at a premium of a thousand dollars, more in today's market. For that premium, you get either the anemic 22R or the 2.7L for which you cannot get parts. Forget the Toy V-6, they didn't build enough of them to count.
You two are worth the listen when you're not taking cheap shots at a truck that has enabled thousands of working men and homeowners for decades.
The 89-93 B2600i is an actually great truck, back when they were actually made by Mazda
Yes I remember my dad getting one when I was five ( born in 86). I learned how to drive the 5spd at 8. In later years I drove it to high school and after. Basically it was like my sibling lol. But it would not die no matter how hard I drove it.
I have a 1998 Mazda B2500 and I love it! I installed Monroe load helper rear shocks that look like "coil overs" and I also installed a leaf spring load helper kit. This made a big difference for CHEAP! Might want to look into both of those. I also installed a lot of urethane bushings, new brakes all around, all new steering parts. They aren't the greatest trucks, but they will get you around for cheap! I love my Ford Mazda!
My dad had one his was 2wd 4 cylnder 5 speed manual back in the 90s and he had it forever and beat the crap out of it. It was really reliable. My sister and i hated those rear seats on long road trips lol.
I used to own an exact same truck, same colour too.. 2008. bought it used, rolled it over in sleet. I loved this truck

I had a 2wd 3.0 liter 5 speed.... It was awesome I installed a limited slip and used it for light towing/ hauling and moderate off roading to get the fishing spots.... I wish I still had that Vulcan V6 beast

I had a 2000 Mazda B3000 single cab. Damn that was a great truck. I now have a 2019 Ranger because I have a kid to haul around.

Thanks TFL, I’ll be selling my 95 B4000 soon, bought it in 2002, drove it to 311,000 miles when the water pump went out. Paid $5500 for it back then, will ask $2500 when I get the pump fixed. Best money I’ve ever spent on a vehicle. 4x4 has manual hubs, ac works fine. Great little truck.

That is extremely clean for its age if it were here. I don't see body rust! It's pretty common to see 10-20 year old trucks here which have very crusty or missing rocker panels. That thing looks immaculate!
My first pickup truck was a 1995 Mazda B-2300, 2WD reg cab short bed with the 4R44E transmission. Bought new, I took that truck all over New England and up state NY. Had a blast with it (sold it in 2003 when I got a Tacoma 4WD).
They make such a cute couple. So happy for them.

My Dad has a 1996 B3000 and he is still driving it. They are pretty much bullet proof. And it’s a Ford Ranger, there is no Mazda in it except the badge. Everything under the hood says FOMOCO and it even says manufactured by the Ford Motor Company.

A buddy of mine had ‘94 B4000 SE in high school that he put through the ringer. That thing would take anything you threw at it, until the ol V6 let go. It was a good little truck.

My dad had the same truck back in the 90’s regular cab, 4cyl, no power steering and 5 speed. The sloppiest transmission ever but learned to drive stick on that thing. If you could find 3rd gear your were a hero 😂
We now own... this exact truck (like this truck). Recently replaced both front wheel bearings, rusted out rear shackles and a full 4 inch suspension lift. It made a few good road trips and up to yellow stone and back. Unfortunately ... the head gasket just blew last week. We will be either replacing the gasket, heads, and some other parts or if the gf is up for it v8 swapping.
Makes me miss my '98 Ranger 3.0 5spd. No heat but a/c worked.
As I watch this the only thing they didn't make fun of was the transmission. I had an 89 ranger. The only thing I ever had a problem with was the transmission. Had to put two different ones in it before I it got rid of it Mine had the five-speed manual also. Were they using a different transmission between those years? ???

Okay, so first couple of OEM+ upgrades you need to do to that truck are; grab a rear end from a newer Explorer with disk brakes. It's a relatively straightforward swap requiring nothing that isn't factory installed and gives you the option of a limited slip rear along with disks. It will have the 4.0 OHV V6 which...to put it nicely...is a dog. There's really not much in the way of power mods you can do that actually make any significant difference. Also, keep in mind...anything from an Explorer will swap over with relative ease.
Alot of people wish these were still made ! Only need a "huge" full size if your in business. other then that? Most guys need to show there "big Boyz Toys" and show off full size toys especially @ the gas pump when you need a 100 bill minimum......
Unless you got the 4 banger, that Full-size will be a lot cheaper to drive. The 3.0's are OK, but the 4.0's drink like a 460ci in a 3/4 ton. The Ranger is going to be nicer in the city just for its size. It's smaller than a Maverick, with more usable bed and a low-range.
I had a 2000 Ranger XLT Supercab style side 4x2 with the 4.0 and 4 speed auto. Got 13mpg on a good day, 15 maybe on the highway if I was really gentle. My current 2017 Silverado LT Crewcab 4x4 with the 5.3 does 3-6mpg better (about 3 in the city, 6+ on the highway).
That’s so crazy how clean that truck is. You guys are smoking crack calling it crusty. Chevy trucks look worse after 2 winters here in the north east. I personally love it Andre. Get rid of the Dana 28 and swap in a solid axle Dana 30.
Sir did you see how crusty that under side was? In Colorado that's an alarming amount of rust. I'd be freaking out if I seen that.
Right? That’d be super clean for the northeast for a 1994. Bed rails were spotless and the coating just flaked off the frame after 25 years. That will still last a very long time with that “rust”

The front and rear lower quarters of the bed are complete gone from rot and the frame has a nice scale on it like a fish. Oh yeah I can see right through the floor while driving. Did I mention it has no rockers left. So like I said that’s one clean ranger.
@@austinandannah5357 LOL I hear ya. My Grandmother lives in Pittsburgh so I know what you mean. She moved back in 2015 with her 06 Explorer with now 150k miles, lived in Denver its whole life. Ford Techs were in shock at how clean the underneath was, I went and looked while it was on a lift and not a spec of rust. I have a 98 Tahoe, a little surface rust on the frame now but still fairly black. Body has no rust . I feel bad for you rust belt guys
There really isnt any reason to live in the rust belt. Moved to Colorado lol
So my dads 1993 f150 had those same style rear seats in it, they were okay to sit in as a little kid for like 3 hours

I had a green B4000 for my first vehicle. Had it for 11 years and had 80k miles on it when we got it. Loved that truck. Had the most comfortable seats I have ever been in. Not the most reliable vehicle though.
Awesome buy Andrey!! I have a 2000 ranger (since new) similar to your Mazda with 365k miles on it. Still used as a daily driver. I believe the front hubs are vacuum operated. Check for leaks when installing new hubs. That 5 speed is bullet proof, just change the tranny fluid regularly.
The added weight of that topper will wear on that rear suspension over time...Good News!!! Parts are plentiful and cheap to fix nearly everything on that truck.
I had a 94 b3000. When I asked for Mazda parts at the part store, they would tell me it was special order. When I asked for the same part for a Ranger they had plenty.

That truck is in good shape. Those little trucks made midsize trucks cool. They do well off road and can do light work just don't think you can put much in the back of it. For a 160hp v6 4.0 they do really well towing small boats etc. If I find one that clean for 2,500 I'd buy it a fix it up. That one needs paint and a little work on the interior.
They should bring this smalls trucks back to life they would make a lot of money
Just like my old 94 XLT Ranger (kinda), the 5spd a.d 4L was great to me, 4wd and cushy seats compared to the later models.

These are great! I think the little TTB Fords are an outstanding budget off road choice. Their all body on frame as opposed to the unibody XJ and the 4.0L is quite a bit more punchy than an old 22r would be. It's pretty simple to swap a solid axle in place even with reusing some factory suspension links and taking two transfer cases and making one with an additional reduction box is a common DIY thing within the off road ranger platform community. Hugely underrated in my opinion.

I have a '98 2.5, 5speed, w/194k, single cab, short bed. You are right about the torque. The truck just wants to run. It no slouch on the twistys. I have added sandbags, to put weight on the axles. I call it a Miata, with a bed.
I have a 94 b3000 this same color. Mine is a 3.0 liter manual trans but single cab with the real long bed. Not the 6 foot that most people think of but the 7 foot. Im planning on putting a camper shell on it but they arent easy to find for a 7 foot bed.

The seats were made by Flofit and were only avail. on the Mazda B series and not avail. in the Ranger (the ranger didn't have the thigh support., They also went into the Ford Explorer and the Mustang.

I had a mazda b2600 with 4x4 and it was a really good truck, very torquee with that manual transmission 5 spd.
As a kid, I spent many of hours in the back seats of a Mazda just like this but red.
Fellas, i believe that twin i beam suspension was also used on Ford's full sized pickups for some time. They changed to a torsion bar suspension after that and did the same in the Rangers and B2000's

Hi, I have a 1994 Mazda B3000 4x4 Cab Plus, it is at just under 400,000. Last summer the transmission blew up and I had it replaced, plus the clutch, master and slave. Other than that and a bit of rust around the fenders its my idea back country vehicle. I even get down ATV trails most of the time. If anyone has something like this I'd appreciate knowing if you have made or built in storage units behind the seats in the back of the cab. Thanks Steve (68yrs), Manitoba Canada.

The May Bach Mazda. Believe it or not this was the luxury option for a Ford ranger back in the day.
They're great trucks, but I think the guys were a little overly enthusiastic about the transmission. The M5OD has an internal slave cylinder that requires the whole transmission to be pulled when it fails, and the bearings tend to wear out on 3rd and 5th, causing failures. I'm currently dealing with that issue right now on my 98.

I had the same truck in Seafoam. The only thing I wish it had a manual transmission. I believe it would have been a different truck.
Vegas Dezert Fab makes a nice long travel kit for the B-Ranger.
For 2500 bucks, I think that truck is perfect for a stating point of having a good truck with a little more money invested in it. You could use it for overlanding.
Throw some front drop brackets and coil springs from a F250 you’ll have much better front whee travel Offroad. Loved my 1990 Ranger with the 4.0….just not the automatic A4LD trans which had to be rebuilt.

My ‘96 Ranger is still going strong with it’s 3.0LV6. It’s lower to the ground and easier to load than my newer full size truck. The water stain on the rear headliner is from a leaking third brake light seal, I had to replace that on mine.
