Wound up going with the Kershaw over the microtech. I'll be honest, price was the deciding factor for me. In a lot of the other boxes, it really is a wash. Personally I think the microtechs looks better and when i purchased had more options, but with the trigger is so much smoother on the Kershaw. Size and feel in the hand is basically the same.
I tried them out at a store down the street a few times and debated it. In the end I chose the Livewire with no regrets. I agree with all of what you said in the video.
@knivesfast thank you soo much for this post. I have a $260 credit with BHQ and I have been torn over the last few weeks about which one to get. After speaking with a rep this morning and also seeing your video, you answered every single question I had about the two. The Microtech slide is soo difficult to operate. I have the little UTX-70 and you gotta damn near use both thumbs to operate it. Awesome size and feel but Microtech is notorious for having hard to operate OTF’s no matter which model. So with all that being said. I’m going with the Kershaw. It’s made in USA and all around fits my needs better and it’s $75 cheaper but not cheaper in quality or performance. Thank You again for the great review.
Livewire wins this one in every way. Better steel, better heat treat, better fit and finish, better ergos, smoother and faster deployment, better price, and infinitely better customer service. I'm actually thinking of selling all my other OTFs because the Livewire is so awesome
I compared the Kershaw to the Benchmades and there's no contest. The slide action on the Kershaw feels like it's on roller bearings and super smooth and comfortable. I'm buying the Kershaw soon.
No one I know has ever used a glass breaker. I have 3 people at work that carry microtechs nope nope nope. Then I got interested and started asking everyone I know lol
I’ve been salty about Kershaw refusing to repair my old Breakout auto, but I finally caved and just bought the Livewire w/ carbon fiber and a Launch 4 with Ultem; Both have magnacut steel blades; also a Jack Wolf Midnight Jack slip joint w/ Dark Matter Copper scales and s90v steel because I’m a knife addict😅
I wish my state would look at these and instead of thinking, "Oh no, dangerous gang stabby weapon!" they'd think, "Oh, what a handy and neat tool that law-abiding citizens use on a daily basis which makes our community more productive and satisfied in their lives." I'm glad Kershaw and Microtech both are able to put out excellent products in this arena to keep Americans gainfully employed and hey, maybe the value competition will keep pushing the legacy brands to improve!
Great video! I own both of these, and while they are both superb OTF knives, I like the Kershaw significantly more. I've had the Microtech for a couple of years, and it is a very well-made and top-quality knife. The only thing I didn't love was the slide - it is borderline painful to deploy, and very stiff. I've only had the Kershaw for a month or so, but it has become my EDC goto - the action is as smooth as butter. They both look gorgeous in different ways, though I think the all-metal Microtech has the edge. But in terms of user experience, the Kershaw is simply perfect.
The livewire does not have contoured scales and old microtech definitely fires harder. But I like the taller blade on the livewire and it's cut ability
I recommend that you search youtube and watch Microtech OTF torture test. I think it's a pretty good knife that I have. Haven't seen a torture test on the Kershaw yet. Can it hold up to the same torture test?
Well I have for sure have not torture tested one and that is great that that has happened to the Microtech. Maybe somebody will at some point. Good point in the comparison. Thanks!
I took the Livewire into the outdoor and did everything with it that I usually do with a fixed blade. The Livewire didn't care at all about my attempts to make it fail. Just be sure to take it apart and clean it when you get home.
Thank you very much. You know I'm not really sure what to tell you. My wife found Ren and stimpy in a store while we were traveling and a friend of mine sent powder test man log and TV. But I can't really ask him as he passed away recently. But they're here to stay and I'm glad you are too. Thanks
Hey KC, would love to pick up a livewire, thanks for the side-by-side comparison. just constructive criticism but, would like to see you keep everything in frame, just looks nice.
I may have to buy a Kershaw but I've had my microtec for 5 yrs been a great knife I like the minimal design. And I like how the clip doesn't come loose never have had an issue. But I want to try out this Kershaw. Not sure if it'll replace my microtec.
Recently purchased a Livewire and love it.. however my only hesitation in using it as an EDC is the LOUD deployment. It literally turns every head in the room.
Agreed, it is quite loud. The day mine was delivered, I was working the knife action in the car while my wife drove, and we were both surprised by how loud the snap is. Not ninja approved.
I went with the livewire because of the smoother deployment and ease of disassembly (normal driver). I've had an ultratech; I think they look better, but mine, and others I've tried, had stiff deployment.
Got my gray tanto Livewire in just a couple of days ago (Price drops on a few models at Blade HQ). By far, the biggest misstep on this knife is the pocket clip. Everybody seems to focus on the angle of the clip as an issue, but the real issue is the tension and lack of usefulness. It is very difficult to draw and place the knife in a standard pair of jeans (or most any pants), which is an extreme disappointment and really detracts from the nature of the knife which should be easy and fast. I don't know why there aren't any replacement aftermarket pocket clips for this model. I want to keep this blade, but I want a functional clip that's easier to use.
Interesting. I don't know if the model you got has a different clip than mine or what but I just carried it yesterday and I have no problem with the clip. Sorry to hear that. Thanks
I own the the live wire and that clip is really frickin tight I just bent it out a bit and no problems. Everyone gets so bent about it but it's no big deal.
Take some needle nose pliers and just bend it out a little.Be carefull, just do a littke at a time,to getvit just right.Ive done all my thirty to forty mid to high ends.Just be carefull you dont bend it out to much-if you do,you have to take it off to bend it back.Or just order another from the maker-theyre dirt cheap, and sometimes theyll just give you one
I have a Wharncliffe ( Warhound ) Two Tone Blue Ultratech… So a drop point/double edge dagger cuts better than a Tanto. Do you keep them in a drawer and pull’em out to fidget with them? Or do you actually use them?
The Live wire is not a double edge. It is a single edge knife. These were both in for review at the time and I did simple EDC cutting with them for testing purposes. In my carry I cut whatever I need to during the day. So yes I do use them. To each their own. Thanks
I have not seen the tanto version but it looks pretty cool online. I love the spear point and I would suggest that personally. But everybody likes something different. Thanks
The Kershaw 9000 Black with Black DLC Blade. I picked one up for $200 shipped on sale, and its honestly the best knife purchase I’ve ever made. It isn’t my first OTF but it’s by far the best I own. It’s action is smoother and takes less effort than than my GT and that thing is on bearings. It has less blade play than my Microtech and I love how thin the MagnaCut blade is. Even the overall profile of the knife feels right in nearly every way. I honestly wish kershaw would stop with their bullshit assisted opening knife’s. I understand that it makes them very friendly to the new people entering the knife world as they just like I seen it as very cool at first but then quickly began to hate it. If they would stop with their huge lineup of assisted knife’s and worked solely on regular flip or thumb stud, button lock, axis lock, and OTF’s that would change their brand back into a brand known for knife enthusiasts rather than a brand that is only known for their Outstanding OTF and that is otherwise a beginner brand for people that don’t yet know knife’s. After the novelty wears off of the assisted opening knife’s it just becomes a huge hassle as it requires two hands to close 90% of the assisted knife’s they sell. And you start to hate them the second you get a real knife in your hand like a Para 3 or bugout. Kershaw has so much potential, they have proven it with this very knife. They need to stop trying to be a beginners novelty brand and start being a serious brand. If they would just stay on the track this knife has put them on, and phase out all assisted or at least a large majority they could rule the knife world as a go to enthusiast brand. But I can’t express my feelings on their assisted beginner garbage enough. This OTF shows they can not only compete with the competition but dominate it but for some reason it’s always a rare one off in between knife they release that takes the crown and they go back to their old ways or being a meme brand. I really wish they would actually just completely switch to making OTF’s if not anything else. Anyway that’s the end of my rant. I love the Kershaw brand. My first knife was a Kershaw leek and then I got the, Needs Work and shortly after that I realized that the assisted knife’s were a novelty and I went with a Spyderco Para 2 and never looked back. So I don’t hate Kershaw or the brand I just dislike the assisted nonsense they are putting out faster then the FED is printing money.
This is really really good and I wish the people at Kai and Kershaw would read this. They can make very fantastic knives and I don't understand some of what they do so I'm with you. There. Especially assisted stuff doesn't make any sense to me. Thanks
@1rstTry agreed. Dude, there are plenty of assisted opening knives that are safe & easy to close with one hand, only caveat I'll give you is wearing gloves, injury, arthritis etc getting in the way of that. I ❤️ OTF's, but they're still a smaller market share than any folder. Whether due to social stigma, draconian laws or practicality, they're just not going to sell as much to the average consumer as any flavor of folding knife. Fortunately with knife laws changing mostly for the better across the US, the OTF market is on the upswing, which I'm all for. But expecting a company like Kershaw to axe a majority of its product line that sells very well, to focus on a product line that's a bigger risk is just foolish thinking. My favorite Kershaw is a Blur in ODG with a plain edge, and I love that it's American made. Now, I would love to see Kershaw phase out its cheaper knives that are made overseas, I am more than willing to pay a little more if it's better quality and manufactured in the USA. 🇺🇸 Replace those garbage knives with a Livewire in the Microtech UTX-85 size range, and have a lineup of moderately priced US made folders and go to town!
I have both. The Microtech feels much more refined and robust. The Kershaw feels cheap comparatively. The action is fairly similar when opening and if you have delicate, weak thumbs you may prefer the Kershaw. The blade rattle is significant with the Kershaw. The Kershaw feels hollow and has an unsatisfying clunk sound when it closes. The Microtech handle is larger and overly stylized. I’d spend the extra money on the Microtech if you want an OTF you’d have confidence in using more than a fidget toy. Just my opinion.
Wow. I guess it depends on what you're using it for I would say if more work get the Microtech if more EDC get the live wire but man you can't do it wrong with either one for either task thanks
@@KnivesFAST lol I see what you were saying now about the trigger. I got the ultratech half serrated half plain edge. I like it , it's very cool. I'm gonna use it for everyday simple edc tasks no hard use got plenty of other knives for that. But I think the livewire woulda been better for me , my thumb is a mess from trying to break the ultratech in. You talked about the livewire being better for fidgeting with all day and I agree with you
Is it just me, or do these thin tipped knives like this Kershaw or even Spyderco PMs break like crazy? I gave up on the PM2 after breaking two tips without doing anything particularly crazy like using it as a pry bar or something. Best knives in my carry rotation have been the benchamde 940 and MT UT S/E which seem to be more robust, albeit less "slice-y"
Definitely on the PM 2. I have heard that is a problem but I haven't really heard that on the Kershaw yet but it hasn't been out that long. I get it though , it can Definitely be a concern. Thanks!
I also own both and much prefer the Ultratech. I prefer the shape and the less mushy firing mechanism on the Microtech. The pocket clip on the Livewire definitely misses the mark for me. It’s too small and I don’t like that the knife angles to the right because of it. I’m happy to have the Livewire but I’ll probably buy another one of the countless varieties of the Ultratech if I want another OTF.
Good to hear. Yeah like I said they're both really great. It's like splitting hairs to me, but definitely sounds like you have some good reasons. Thanks
There is a good video of the exact Microtech model in your video [same color and blade] being used by a Lawrenceville, GA police officer to free himself from his patrol car after he T-boned a pick-up truck. I know you don't care for glass breakers, but he uses the blade to cut the airbags away and he uses the glass breaker to break the windows open. The tool was effective.@@KnivesFAST
I have 7 microtechs and 2 livewires, 2 benchmades and my favorite carry is the Dirac or the UTX-85. I generally use my edc for opening boxes or light packaging. I just don’t see any reason to carry anything bigger.
Found you while trying to do research for my sons first “real knife” idk if a 17yo kid …. But he’s been super responsible with his auto side open boker I want to know if I’m alone on this one ….. the main reason I’m not wanting to own a micro tech is because there’s sooooooooooo many reps!!! It’s like microTech is the rolex date-just of the knife world!!! Theres more fakes manufactured & sold vs the reals 😞
Gotcha. Yeah, they're so popular and that's it. It's tough to make these decisions. And especially his first real knife. Hope you figured out. Thanks James
Comes down to heat treat for me. We know Microtech is subpar 58-59 hrc but it's tough. What's the magnacut well wonder. If it's below 60 hrc no way lol
Comparing one of the microtechs with the new dual fuel tech would’ve been more fair. You compared an older gen to a brand new knife. Gen III troodon is insanely better than last gen Ultratech
Well I compared what I had to compare. If I ever get a hold of a newer Microtech I would be glad to compare it to my two live wires. A lot of folks have really enjoyed this video though. Thanks
I love the livewire but I'm going microtech. The main reason being proven longevity and blade materials as well as more design options. Also after seeing torture tests of both Microtech for the win. That said the livewire is awesome and I love having one in my pocket.
It’s a good knife. But it doesn’t really compare as the price points don’t even come close to one another. But if you want to, Dollar for dollar. The Kershaw 9000 takes the win as you get so much for $200. And for the stonewashed version you are looking at $150 or so at the time of writing this. I mean magnacut steel, a beautiful nice thin slicy blade, a near perfect anodized finish. One of the best I’ve seen to be honest. And the shape is amazing. The shape of the G&G Hawk Deadlock is something that I don’t like at all personally. It’s just so, idk it reminds me of just, trash. But that is just my personal opinion on the looks of it. Otherwise the knife functions well. Just bad ergos and the hideous look. While on the other hand you have the 9000 and it’s simple and sexy. And with that said even if both knife’s were the same cost. I would go with the Kershaw 9000.
@@0nemoa The Deadlock has the smoothest operation of any otf w/zero blade play.If you have an aluminum or Ti model C you’d know this. That isn’t an opinion that’s a fact.In order to compete with the Deadlock’s ease of use Microtech just released the gen 3 Combat Troodon and Hera using dual springs.Though I’d like to see what the blade play is like on those.Kershaw might be “budget friendly” but you get what you pay for.
Best action in class of OTF knives but most of the models are uglier than a dog's ass 😂😂😂 not worth the money until they come out with an exterior design that doesn't scream "Translyvania Vampire Hitman from the 70's"
Yeah it is definitely a staple. I don't have one in my collection so far but maybe someday. But the Kershaw is really good and like you said very smooth. Thanks
If you keep flicking it and using rem oil the microtech is easy to open especially when you get stronger thumbs I know because now I can flip out a microtech faster than someone can blink😂😂😂
Kershaw might have won me back with this one. Unless Microtech comes out with a really competitive option that’s closer in price. They probably won’t be seeing any more of my hard earned dollars for a while.
I have a Ultratech Jedi Knight and the Livewire. I carry the livewire daily, the Ultratech is too pretty to carry and is really had on the thumb to deploy.
Its a shame kershaw couldnt get the price under $200. With the prices so similar theres no reason to not go microtech. Sometimes i just rub it to appreciate the masterful aluminum milling
I haven’t tried to the Kershaw so I’d have to go with the Microtech. I don’t like the look when the handle is that thick and the blade doesn’t come out of the middle. Just too lopsided on the Kershaw for me. 🤙
I have several microtech’s, I would rank these two in this order… #1 Ultratech. #2 Ultratech lol. The Keeshaw to me just doesn’t look good - the blade shape is not for me aesthetically and Microtech is the original OTF… The Ultratech has been brutally torture tested and I can’t see the Kershaw matching the legendary durability of the Microtech, easy decision for me.
I think that is great that you love the Microtech so much. It is a wonderful knife. The slide was just too stiff and button on the one I had in was rough on my thumb. Definitely prefer the Kershaw on my end but that's why there's choices. Thanks
@@KnivesFAST You should do a review of one. They have a patented action using a ceramic ball under a metal plate that makes the action smooth like butter…like nothing I’ve ever seen in any other OTF knife. Once. You use it other OTFs seem really inferior as the GTs raise the bar so high.
This is my comparison of the Microtech Ultratech and the Kershaw Livewire. Both are great USA Made OTF Options.

Same. I agree with you. Thanks
Just picked up the livewire dagger (double edged) on sale on BHQ for $199. Should be in my hands in less then a week. Cant wait!
Excellent. I really enjoy mine. Thank you
How do you like it?
@davidturner734 I like the knife but wish I'd gone with the tanto or drop point. The dagger blade isn't great for EDC purposes.
I tried them out at a store down the street a few times and debated it. In the end I chose the Livewire with no regrets. I agree with all of what you said in the video.
Yeah I mean like I said both are really great but I just prefer the live wire. Good to hear you do as well. Thanks!

I actually very much agree with that. Thanks

I'm buying the Kershaw soon.
Oh yeah, in that comparison you're 100% right. The Kershaw is light years ahead. Thanks
Picked up the Kershaw today definitely a great knife for the price
Excellent. I love it. Good stuff. Thanks
I wanted the ultratech for a long time your video help me pick between the 2 but the day after I got the microtech I bought the Kershaw
Hahah. Nice. Both are good. It's up to each person which they like more. Thanks
I just got my all black Kershaw livewire today. And I love it!!!
You don't need a glass breaker until you need a glass breaker. Great comparison! Thanks for taking the time and doing this!
You're not wrong. That's definitely the way to look at it. It just bothers me the rest of the time. Lol. And you're very welcome. Thank you
Yeah. I really wish they had added that. There's some other OTFs that don't have the glass breaker, and it kinda turns me off it.
Glass breaks fine with a blade tip.
No one I know has ever used a glass breaker. I have 3 people at work that carry microtechs nope nope nope. Then I got interested and started asking everyone I know lol
No you just don't need one. Period
If i was in the market for an OTF, i would go for the Livewire. Appreciate the comparison

I may have to buy a Kershaw but I've had my microtec for 5 yrs been a great knife I like the minimal design. And I like how the clip doesn't come loose never have had an issue. But I want to try out this Kershaw. Not sure if it'll replace my microtec.
Nothing wrong with that. If you like it that much then that is great. The Kershaw is really well made in my opinion. Thanks
That blue looks good
Pretty epic for sure.
Nice review thanks. i’m leaning towards the Kershaw
Nice. My choice as well. Thanks.
Recently purchased a Livewire and love it.. however my only hesitation in using it as an EDC is the LOUD deployment. It literally turns every head in the room.
Interesting problem for sure. They are definitely noisy. Thank you
Agreed, it is quite loud. The day mine was delivered, I was working the knife action in the car while my wife drove, and we were both surprised by how loud the snap is. Not ninja approved.
Live wire definitely gives me CZ design vibes. Like Jan Luchansky. Scorpion EVO.
Yeah I can see that a little bit. Definitely with that blade. Thanks
I was going to get the Kershaw at first then I looked at the ultratech in purple and figured I always wanted one and purple sold me
Very nice. Kershaw just dropped a purple version of this. Saw it at knife center in a couple other places. Thanks
Yeah I picked up a purple Microtech UltraTech with the m390 Tanto blade and the absolutely love it, great choice for sure
@KnivesFAST yea I got the purple Kershaw it was on sale at bladehq for 180
I went with the livewire because of the smoother deployment and ease of disassembly (normal driver). I've had an ultratech; I think they look better, but mine, and others I've tried, had stiff deployment.
Yeah there's good reasons on either side but I definitely like the ones you said about the Live wire. I just like it more what it is. Thanks
I like the Kershaw over the Microtec personally. Thanks KC
Got your period I think I do as well. Thanks
Nice comparison. Also the hardware on the microtech is harder to get tools for .. njjj
Yeah well said. That's a problem. Thanks
Sort of. If I didn't have torx for electronics, I would have had to buy torx. So buying a triwing isn't really any different.
I have a Wharncliffe ( Warhound ) Two Tone Blue Ultratech…
So a drop point/double edge dagger cuts better than a Tanto.
Thanks
Interesting infovid. But, wouldn't it have been a better comparison video to use similar blade styles?
You use what you have but I h at ya. Thanks
They need to come out with a live wire mini. Id be all in i feel the live wire is just a little intimidating with the auto oft for edc
Interesting. It's a good size for me. But I hear you. Thanks
What do you think of the new Tanto Livewire? What one would you suggest for EDC? Spearpoint or Tanto?
Thanks
Dude what are you ranting about? Lol
@1rstTry agreed.
Replace those garbage knives with a Livewire in the Microtech UTX-85 size range, and have a lineup of moderately priced US made folders and go to town!
Thank you! Good info
Right now I can get a MagnaCut Microtech for the same price as the live wire and I can't decide which one to order today
You talked about the livewire being better for fidgeting with all day and I agree with you
I’ve got the ultra tech in m390 I love it
The live wire will be Hall of Fame design. It's best design in a decade. A piece of history.
No glass breaker, so definitely picking the Livewire.
You know I totally agree. Thanks
Thanks!
I went with the Ultratech for the blade. But the clip in the palm is annoying. Great video
That's a good point. Yeah, clips can really kill a knife for a lot of people. Thanks
And its ugly as sin-nothing broadcasts you got a bkade in your pocket like an ultraech clip
Both good. I'd have either or.
Good call. You can't go wrong there. Thanks
with the new Dual Drive train- System is Microtech far the best OTF Brand. So damn smooth and nice to handle
I'll have to try one at some point. Glad to hear their improving. Thanks
@@KnivesFAST But the Livewire is with his Price and Magnacut steel still a realy nice pick!!!! i think price wise the best OTF Still
I also own both and much prefer the Ultratech.
The full black Livewire looks much meaner than the stonewash blade version.
Agree. Thanks
I have 7 microtechs and 2 livewires, 2 benchmades and my favorite carry is the Dirac or the UTX-85. I generally use my edc for opening boxes or light packaging. I just don’t see any reason to carry anything bigger.
Hey I like that you know what you want and what you like. Sounds like a great collection. Thanks
Microtech is the gold standard. I love my kershaws but it doesn't keep me from buying more Microtechs. They are built for much harder use.
I mean there's nothing wrong with having some of each. But I hear what you're saying. Thanks
Found you while trying to do research for my sons first “real knife” idk if a 17yo kid …. But he’s been super responsible with his auto side open boker
I want to know if I’m alone on this one ….. the main reason I’m not wanting to own a micro tech is because there’s sooooooooooo many reps!!!
Can you wash and dry them?
Haha. Nope. Thanks
I subbed because of Log and Powdered Toast Man, amazing products, I love BLAMO !
Haha. Nice! Welcome! Thanks
My Kershaw livewire makes a squeaky high pitched noise when retracting in. Unlike my other otf's. Anyone know how to fix that?
Wow, I haven't heard that one. I'm not sure. Hopefully folks here can help. Thanks!
Comes down to heat treat for me. We know Microtech is subpar 58-59 hrc but it's tough. What's the magnacut well wonder. If it's below 60 hrc no way lol
Good to know. Thank you so much
livewire in magnacut is 62-64 hrc...it's on their website
Like I said, can't go wrong. And I agree with you on the longevity part of the microtech. But both are cool. Thanks
LIVEWIRE in tamto Magnacut is the best
Oh nice. Thanks.
A new blade for the Kershaw BLK. Is only 25.oo bucks!!!😊
The G&G Hawk Deadlock. The absolute best otf you can own, nothing else compares.
I've heard that. Never gotten to experience one, but they look really cool. Thanks
Yadayadayada, who cares really, not everyone wants to drop 3 grand on an otf. Get a gucci glock instead
Best action in class of OTF knives but most of the models are uglier than a dog's ass 😂😂😂 not worth the money until they come out with an exterior design that doesn't scream "Translyvania Vampire Hitman from the 70's"
any collector of knives needs at least 1 Microtech. Kershaw thumb slide is SOOO much easier to use.
I oil mine once a year now instead of every few months because of how my thumbs got use to the action
Kershaw might have won me back with this one. Unless Microtech comes out with a really competitive option that’s closer in price. They probably won’t be seeing any more of my hard earned dollars for a while.
Totally agree. Just so much better, especially when you include the price in the discussion. Thank you
I have a Ultratech Jedi Knight and the Livewire. I carry the livewire daily, the Ultratech is too pretty to carry and is really had on the thumb to deploy.
You just described exactly how I feel about a microtech ultra tag. They're just too stiff on the spring for me. Kind of tear your thumb up. Thanks
Keshaw knives boss ❤
Absolutely. Thanks
Its a shame kershaw couldnt get the price under $200. With the prices so similar theres no reason to not go microtech. Sometimes i just rub it to appreciate the masterful aluminum milling
Yeah, I'm just giving choices and it's up to each person to decide. Both are good. Thanks!
kershaw would be a good budget knife, still Microtech for the premium quality option
Yeah, I kind of felt like a lot of people would feel one way or the other. I think they're both pretty great, but I hear what you're saying. Thanks
If you haven't, you should try Guardian Tactical.
I have not. Thanks for letting me know
I like the Kershaw but with the Microtech or another more useful blade.
Gotcha. Thanks for watching
Kershaw is making everyone look bad. Better quality, better feel, better price and the entire launch series checks every box.
Well said. In this case, they're definitely standing out and making it where it's affordable. Thanks
The Livewire doesn't need a reversible clip. It's amusing to me that people can't see that. Just flip it around.
Got you. Thanks for watching
The clip is reversible I believe.
Livewire would be my choice but no glassbreaker is a deal breaker.
Interesting. I would choose the live wire because it doesn't have a glass breaker. I guess to each their own. Thanks
@@KnivesFASTNever needed a glass breaker but if I ever need one I sure will want one. I edc a knife so this is very important to me.
Home made club sandwichs for diner. Because I don't know anything about OTFs
There you go. Lol. Thanks
I haven’t tried to the Kershaw so I’d have to go with the Microtech. I don’t like the look when the handle is that thick and the blade doesn’t come out of the middle. Just too lopsided on the Kershaw for me. 🤙
Got you. Thanks for sharing
Two-tone tanto, two-tone tanto, two-tone tanto.... Lol I'm gonna go with that murdered out live wire
Oh my goodness dude. That's hilarious. Thank you so much!
Why is the tactical aspect bad? It scares the threads, packaging, and paper you cut.
Lol. That's a good boy. LOL. Thanks
Kershaw hands down is the better
Agree for me. Thanks
Thanks
Demko’s Rule !
Nice. Thanks for watching
@@KnivesFAST I’ll be getting a Livewire soon.
I've had my Kershaw livewire BLK 9000. I WILL never buy a microtec again, after trying the livewire!!!
Very nice. I love mine as well. So much easier to deploy . Thanks
Дякую за обзор!!! Треба обидва брати до колекції. Привіт з України 🖐
Well said. They're both great and worth owning. Thanks
Livewire
That would be my personal choice. Both are great but Livewire just fits me better. Thank!
Good video- Tanto blades are useless on pocket knives though , they make more sense for a fixed blade or a sword
Yeah, I hear what you're saying. I'm glad there's plenty of options so people can get what they want, but they're definitely not for everyone. Thanks
Hogue Counterstrike
Nice. Thanks
Never had or touched one of these so I really don't have an opinion 😢
Gotcha. Hope you enjoyed the video. Thanks
There is a new Gen # Microtech Combat Tradoon ? Better than the old Gen .
Interesting. Thanks for sharing
Sigh,.. touch choice. But gotta go with the tried n true Micritech
Got you. And a lot of people will. Definitely more tested. Both are good choices. Thanks
Tactical tu-tone tanto today....
Very nice. Have a good Friday. Thanks
Clip is reversible.
Yep. Thanks
Livewire clip is reversible
Got you. Thank you so much
I'll take the kershaw over the microtech
Good choice. Thanks.
Thanks for reminding me how much California knife laws SUCK. They both look great.
Oh yeah they do. Thanks anyway
LOL too bad you follow the rules.
hello hello
Rattle test?!
I mean I believe I covered that but if not they both rattled to a degree but I don't think one was significantly better than the other. Thanks
Guardian Tactical is superior to either of these in every way. Much smoother action, much better elmax steel.
Have never checked one of those out. But they sound really cool.
@@90whatever Yeah they're pretty pricey but I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestion
Microtechs are way overrated. Ill take any knife from the KAI Group any day
They're well made and very nice. But I definitely preferred the Kershaw. Thanks
I've used microtech for years they are the best otf's you can buy
I bought a Microtech it was incredibly dull I returned it and bought the live wire….couldn’t be happier and for the price comparison you can go wrong
Ordered my livewire
Blue.
Oh yeah. Thank you
I like benchmade you are wrong
That's why there's choices. Everybody gets to pick what they want and nobody's really wrong. Lol. Thanks
Cutting geometry on the ultratechs are garbage
Yeah I mean with any OTF it's going to be tough to get a really thin Edge. But I understand what you're saying. Thanks
