I'm no mechanic or expert on Ford Mustangs, but, I am a Ford guy. I have a '69 hardtop I've swapped a 5.0 HO/T5 tranny into. I'm currently rebuilding a 351w roller out of a '94 F150 that will go into the '69 once I'm done rebuilding it. So, my '69 had a 6 cyl. 3 speed in it, and during my research I found that small block fords 289, 302 & 351 share external block accessory locations, including motor mounts. With that being said, your year Stang was built with 289's so you should be able to purchase motor mounts for 289 and other components that will allow you put the 351 in there. But, the 351 is a little taller and wider so you may have some clearance issues, nothing extreme tho. Good Luck. I'm subscribed!!! Can't wait to see the progress!!
Thanks for the info! So far all it boils down to is I have to get a low profile intake manifold, as well as some special headers and it should go in just fine with the motor mounts that you suggested. The 1969‘s are a little wider right?
Coupe roof looks more proportional to the rest of the body as opposed to fastback or a convertible. I have a 66 coupe street build. Thanks for the video.
Around how much would that be? I have a 289 now with a freshly rebuilt c4 trans. I would like to eventually put a 351 in it. Ballpark figure. What’s your guesstimate?
We are learning as we go, so let me know the best way to swap this 351W in!
I love the mid to late 60's mustang coupes more than any other body style. I dream of v8 swapping one myself someday. Looks fun!
Thanks, I love them too. Lots of work to do on this
@@LowBoostFilms good luck I'm excited to see it done and goin down the road!
@@adamjohnson7832 thanks! Stay tuned I have lots of videos on this coming up.

Awesome! Stay tuned, lots more to come on this project! New brakes in the next episode!

@@LowBoostFilms Correct, They are a lil wider.
How do I get to the thread of videos about the 66 mustang i6 to V8 swap. Do I have to just scroll and find them.
Check my playlists on my page. They are all in there in chronological order.

I agree 100% thanks for watching!
Only people who own a hardtop are the one that dont have the money for the fastback.
Awesome, I'm doing one now
Definitely a good project!
I’m assuming it would be similar with a 289 to 351 swap
Yea
You earned my sub man, great content 👌
Vince Cloudchaser thanks! I’m glad you like the videos!
I believe there is not one part someone doesn’t make for these mustangs
I know! It’s awesome. The amount of support in the aftermarket.
How much did you guys pick up the ‘66 for ?
Take a guess.
$7k

Might need to build the trans. Not much else other than motor mounts and headers to fit it. So maybe a few thousand depends on the cost of the engine
What car is that at 3:55
1970 Camaro SS
@@LowBoostFilms Nice
I really love the paint color! I want to paint mine that same color. Do you know what it's called?
I don’t know the name. I thinks it’s a common blue though.
I think it is Acapulco Blue, very popular color.
We had those wheel dollies but used then for a 97 f350 7.3, they were good till one of them broke 😂
Lol, they’re harder on trucks and heavy things, the mustang weighs 2900lbs it’s pretty light
What color is the car?
It’s not an original Ford color. I’m not quite sure what it is.
nice blue paint job...
66 'Stangs & Windsor v8 go together like PB&J...
Yes sir!!!!
My Dad! Get a 68 fastback, mommy’s boy!
If I could find that for what we paid for this I would, but it’s not on this planet lol.
🥵🤤🥵🤤🥵
Not sure if you’re happy or sad lol
Not worth a lot to begin with? lol these things rusted out no motor no interior sell for 5k 🤦🏻♂️
I paid $2,000 for it as it is, and sold it for $15,000. Compared to a fastback which would probably sell for like 40,000 same condition
