Is there any particular reason you didn't encompass the rear door and have it all one unit..? Just wondering..?? I've a 2016 Transit Connect and looking for an extension to the rear of my van (with barn doors)... ??
That was the first M awning they brought out and seemed very tight on the tailgate of the Rifter. Quechua later upgraded it making the entrance slightly bigger so I now pitch it over the tailgate with no problem .Not sure if it would be ok for barn doors though.

Will if you pull the shelter closer to ur car u car actually get ur tailgate inside the awning . Then u'll have a nice snuff fit.

It would be a tight fit with the Rifter I know the new berlingos do Depends what vehicle you have ? 👍
