When I was a student in Paris I had the privilege to go and see him live a great many times at the Petit Journal jazz club. He was an extremely impressive pianist, but also a very nice man, kind, approachable and even easy to talk to for the 20 years old me. The world is really a sadder place without him.
Loved seeing Peterson jump into the second chorus without thinking twice. The man has so much music in him!!!

Claude Bolling is one of my favorites, and one of the few pianists able to match Oscar Peterson note for note. The two are among the best ever.
