Frazel is pretty cute, but rlly kinda boring. I wonder what would've happened if hazel and leo ended up together. Pretend frank is out of the picture(we can't have his heart broken). And I think we can all agree, that, while Calypso and leo sound like they would be great together, they really weren't
Unpopular opinion: Jiper was toxic and rushed. The fact Piper already thought they were in a relationship, because hera messed with her memories, was already a big red flag. She was also unsure about their relationship, but when Aphrodite convinced her that those fake memories could become reality she went for it. This just kinds of gives the feeling that Piper never loved Jason romantically, she was just chasing this false image of a perfect relationship with a perfect boyfriend. Throughout the books she constantly feels insecure about herself and was always thinking Jason was going to leave her, which is probably due to the fact that she thought he was perfect. She never really questioned some of the questionable things he said and always went along with everything he did. She also constantly talked about how he was different from those false memories she had of him. Also when the girls visited Aphrodite in the MoA, when Aphrodite said their were interesting "stories" , Piper became desperate to prove her mother wrong which probably killed off all feelings she had for Jason (if she had any), because it their relationship became more of a necessity or a chore than a choice. I feel as more time went on the mist wore off or she just realised she wasn't happy in the relationship and didn't love Jason romantically and broke things off. Their relationship also felt purely physical from both parties. They both constantly referred to how hot/beautiful the other person was and never talked about their personality or who they were as a person and what qualities besides looks they liked about each other. Jason cared about Piper, but yeah.
If the show ever gets to Heroes of Olympus which is very unlikely but you never know, I think Lost Hero and Son of Neptune should take place in the same season because then you can see what's going on at both camps at once and you don't have to have a season without Percy. Plus I just think it would be really funny to see everyone freaking out at once
I mean, he kinda lacked the memory in SoN to *be* the developed Percy we saw in TlO. His ability to fight was pure muscle memory and thanks to Lupa imo And I guess that in MoA he was still getting used to his new ‘friends’ from CHB. And in HoH he was in Tartarus, can you blame him? Abt BoO I do not have a clue why it was like that idk
I know right in BoO we get zero Annabeth and Percy POVs , which made no sense considering we got Nico and Reyna POVs even though they're not part of the seven. I think Rick was going for it starts "with us and it ends with us" theme, but he ruined it by adding other characters 😅.
@@EbeAkeke I loved the Nico and Reyna POVs so much. I don’t think it needed to have Percy and Annabeth POVs as they didn’t do anything massively important
@@the.pyrokineticofhades Yes, but considering their part of the seven it feels like they should of had POVs. And considering their blood awakened Gaea , and they both shared individual scenes with Piper and Jason, I feel like it was kind of redundant to not add their POVs
In my opinion Lost Hero was pretty boring and Jason is a less interesting version of Percy. I don’t hate him or anything but he’s easily the least interesting out of the Seven. I like Piper and Leo but it always takes me a while to get attached to that trio, partially because Jason’s boring and partially because the book just starts slow. During my rereading of Heroes of Olympus, Lost Hero took me a few months because I put it down a few chapters in because I was so bored and took forever to get myself to push through to the actual plot, whereas Son of Neptune took me like a week because Percy’s great despite his lack of memory, and Frank and Hazel are just really solid, fun, interesting characters.
i prefer son just bc i love frank and hazel but yeah the plot wasnt giving and it was just overall pretty mid. lost hero just didnt feel like a strong enough start to a series for me, also i didnt like jason and piper in that book (ive gotten better since then) but i still liked it
First! Also I also disagree with that unpopular opinion lol. The lost hero was soooooo boring to me and Jason’s chapters always make me want to fall asleep. Also love your videos!!
@@madsavery13 Fr. Franks chapters in son of Neptune weren’t that bad (all though they were worse than both Hazel and Percy’s in that book) but his chapters in house of hades were sooo boring.
No, he technically never got claimed, everyone just guessed it. It would actually be hilarious if somewhere in the series it had turned out he wasn't actually a son of Hades, being claimed by another god. Since Nyx is in the underworld, Hades I guess would have known if she had had a child. Then, Nico discovers that him and Bianca weren't actually siblings, and that he was a child of Nyx all along. With Bianca being a daughter of Hades, and Nico being a son of Nyx, Hades had taken him in as his own son because Nyx didn't care about him.
I feel like it makes more sense with his whole thing about being super powerful and everyone being afraid of him. Also, we just need more characters that aren’t children of the main gods.
Absolutely not. It would ruin the point of him being powerful and dangerous and the fact he's a son of big three. That's like saying "Thalia should've been a daughter of Hera instead"
But the big three aren’t the most powerful gods. Nyx is often considered one of the most powerful gods. (Being a primordial goddess) and according to Wikipedia Homer’s Iliad describes her as “greater than all the gods together”
to be honest I didn't really like that series much at all. in my head I've rewritten a lot of the first book to include my girl annabeth because she should have been a part of the team. but that second book was just,... ugh.. I think Frank and Hazel are cute at, but reya was the far more interesting character and a true child of a Roman god. I think having Nico as the other character would have been so much better and to find that he felt more welcome at the Roman camp than the Greek. and there could have been a fun fight of Percy throwing Nico into the water for not telling him who he was.
Unpopular opinion but i actually think that jason and piper were pretty bland and sometimes annoying characters. i felt like most of HoO was focused on them and didn’t leave much room for other characters to develop.
I think SoN was better. Probably has something to do with my order of reading the books: TLT TBOTL TLO THE DARK PROPHECY TSoN HOO BOO TLH THE BURNING MAZE THE TYRANTS TOMB The Titans curse Then lastly the sea of monsters. I have to read tower of Nero and the mark of Athena. And the hidden oracle. I think I'm crazy.
Unpopular opinion: Magnus and Alex should’ve gotten their own solo book instead of Nico and Will. I love solangelo, but Magnus and Alex didn’t even become a couple by the end of the series. And they’re super cute.
I’m don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I didn’t really like either of them. I think it’s because Percy and Annabeth weren’t together and I just didn’t think they were very interesting. Loved the rest of the series though and still like the first 2 books!!! 😊
My unpopular opinion: Leo is overrated. He hides his trauma by cracking jokes and goofing around. I think a better route for him would be to face the trauma and learn from it but instead he bottles it up
Justice to Frank!!! I love him

Percy being out of character in The Son of Neptune is what made it so special.
Ya he had all his memories gone.

I 100% agree Lost Hero was better. If PJO Percy was in it, I think it would've been considered a top 3 Riordan book

THANK YOU. I wish she was an Amazon instead so her and Hylla could have some sort of reconnection.
Imagine how traumatized Nico was to find out another important 'big sis' character in his life with brown hair and a braid, joining the hunters 💀
